[Discuss] how to make xperia devices more faster - Sony Xperia Miro, Tipo (Dual), J, E

When we search internet for how to make android or xperia devices more faster then we see the following tips mostly on every third site.
1) Reduce animation scale
2) Remove unused widgets on home screen.
3) Don't use live wallpapers, use static wallpapers.
4) Clean your cache by using clean master app or any other cache cleaner app.
5) Clean your ram by Ram cleaner app. eg. NQ Android booster or you can use other app according to your taste.
6) Restart your device once in a day to clear ram.
7) Use third party home launchers eg. Nova and Apex launchers.
8) Move apps to internal storage to clear phone memory.
9) Delete useless apps from your device.
10) Don't update stock apps which you are not using because it fulls your device memory.
If you have rooted phone, then delete all those useless stock apps which you are not using.
By following above tips we can observe some improvements in the performance of our device.
But some people also claim that by rooting/unlocking bootloader they observe more lags in their device performance and on the other hand, some people say that their device performance become better after rooting.
Now in this thread we can discuss some more tips and tweaks which are helpful in increasing our xperia devices performance.
If you know any trick and tweak that make our devices more faster then you can share that trick in this thread.

1. Change Your stock kernel to another, and change governor (Try and pick the best of You I recommend pegasusq or SmartassH3)
2. Install Pure Performance Golden Edition mod (way faster)
3. Use Seeder (reduce lag)
4. Uninstall unused apps like Timescape, Google maps etc. (More space in system = better)
5. Remove unnecessary language in the keyboard are not using (More space in system = better)
6. Change launcher witch is lighter
Optional
Odex Your rom
Install The New Pure Audio 2.0 (it don't speed up your phone but You here difference in sound)

Mine:
1. Delete some system app (Google+ .....)
2. Use Greenify to hibernate some apps if they are running in background
3. Use XBooster to free more RAM
4. Use another kernel, mine is Intuisy Kernel
Sent from my ST23i using XDA Premium 4 mobile app

1.Greenify is your friend
2.Use slim rom and the slimmest gapps possible
3.Remove useless apps
4.Overclock it.

Overclock to 1.3 Ghz, Governor: OndemandX and I/O Scheduler: Sio
Remove all bloatware from system/app
Remove all useless and unnecessary apps and widgets
Supercharge, Crossbreeder
Odex

@DanielFlorin, Odexed is faster than Deodexed...it is not a theory but a fact ^-^, it's alot harder to theme tho compared to deodexed.
Also delete some bloat apps in System/App such as SocialEngineCore.apk and the like
Delete the Weather and Youtube app if theyre not going to be used

I was using this option long time ago and it doesn't boost anything. It's better to just remove rubbish.
Also it's good to avoid having total mess on the SD card and internal memory. I make total cleaning every few months.

first of all android's memory management is different. There are mainly 2 reasons when u observe that ur memory is heavily consumed.
1. You are doing heavy multitasking.
2. Android itself minimise apps when it feels that its un-necessarily using resources.
I will suggest u to use some light weight launchers like adw launcher. Also use tweaks, ram script, uc kernel. I hope it will help u.

[GUIDE] [Xperia J] [All] Minimum lag on stock

Greetings,
I want to share some tips on how to get rid of annoying lag on stock ROMs. I have an Xperia J that now seems to have the speed of a dual-core phone (it's faster than an Xperia U). NO scripts, NO complicated or risky methods.
Requirements? Root - the most important thing, patience, Play apps, Forum apps.
1. Root App Delete is an easy, small and simple tool to get rid of the nonsense system apps. You can delete or only disable them - having a .bak file in system/app instead of an .apk
2. Greenify is an intelligent tool that helps you put apps "into hibernation when you are not using them, to stop them from lagging your device and leeching the battery, in an unique way! They can do nothing without explicit launch by you or other apps, while still preserving full functionality when running in foreground", as the creator say. You can only hibernate user apps; so many system, preinstalled apps must be deleted and reinstalled from Play.
e.g. Facebook is a hungry app, occupying large amount of RAM - therefore you have less battery and less response of the system when you want to open another app - because all Facebook's processes must be killed. Solution? Uninstall it from system/app and reinstall it as a user app. Then greenify it! It does not have to remain open in the background because of and hour or two of use per day.
3. Seeder is a lag reducing tool that "assists the kernel in "topping off" the entropy pool by re-seeding it with data from the non-blocking (high performance) random device", helping apps to load faster and avoid lag.
4. Xperia Honami Launcher. I know it doesn't seem much as a speed tool, but, trust me, it is. I have used many versions of Xperia launchers (including the one ported from Xperia Z) and, besides that the launcher itself wasn't as sharp and fast as on a newer, more powerfull device - the entire system felt somehow... slower. Opening different apps took longer, not very good multitasking experience...
The new Honami launcher is smooth, very fast - and my Xperia J is flying. Speed everywhere! System apps opening almost instantly, it's like a dual-core hardware experience.
Doubts? Just reply, ask.
P.S. 181 MB free when I entered 'Running Apps' just now.
Very good post, thx ^^ If you run facebook messenger, facebook, music player and a random game, how many free ram do u have??
This test is made on Vengeance 1.46? Have you tried that? Can u list me all trash apps you removed? Can you describe your Seeder's settings please?? Thanks in advance ^^

No, I use stock kernel, didn't change it so far. Perhaps Vengeance is better, I honestly don't know...
I deleted all social-related apps (Facebook, all it's plug-ins, all Twitter apps, special widgets) including all Timescape apps (Spine, Friends etc) and Sony's social widgets, like Friend's Music. Some of Google's stuff, like Text-To-Speech, Picasa plug-in, some ugly live wallpapers... The rest I don't remember.
I disabled: Playstation Certified, Connected Devices (and all DLNA stuff), Email (since I only use Gmail), Google Bookmark and Calendar Sync, Smart Connect, Chinese Keyboard, Xperia Diagnostics, Xperia Sync.
Use Seeder with all 3 options checked (Suspend RNG, Extend I/O, Start at boot). I use Light profile, seems to work very fine that way. :cyclops:

You can find all the links for download and installing info here: [APP][4.0.3+] Xperia™ Launcher 3.0.0 | Xperia Z Ultra | Honami | 24.Jul.2013
P.S. After installing the new launcher and widgets - you can disable the old/stock ones with Root App Delete. If you use both launchers, you will not have that much RAM.

[Discussion] Your Favourite Sensation Setup

So I tried looking for a general discussion thread about phone configs, but couldn't find anything... so I went ahead and made one myself.
Kernel and ROM:
I'm currently using @android1234567's CM10.2 build with the hacky 624MB kernel....
who cares if he's taken a few shortcuts.... I can multitask a lot better on this kernel than on his 598MB one or on any other 4.3 build.
Software and Mods:
1. Xposed. The newest Xposed is awesome.... older versions of the framework gave me significant lag.... don't seem to have any with this version.
2. Greenify with the donation features.
3. BootManager and RecieverStop xposed modules. They seem to make a huge difference in how well the phone performs by changing the apps that get triggered at startup and by certain intents.
4. Seeder. I actually feel that it might not be that useful, but activating it made me feel that things were a tiny bit faster, so I run it anyway regardless of the CPU load.
5. TricksterMod. Set CPU frequency to 192-1512 MHz and GPU at 266 MHz with Intellidemand CPU governor and Ondemand GPU governor.
This is perhaps the best setup I've had with my Sensation, with things at their snappiest.
Please feel free to discuss about your phone's setup, be it Sense or NonSense.
I was hoping to see a thread like this so we could get the most out of our phones!
ROM & Kernel in signature.
MOD; The Sense 5 MOD.. Don't really like it tbh. Too lazy to re-flash ROM currently to remove it.
Some apps that I use;
Link2SD. Just good overall app for managing other applications and such!
Greenify.
SD Maid. Easy SD-card cleaning tool.
That's it for now.. I could use some more apps
Anyways, I am really interested in this ''Seeder''..
Does it really work?
I guess I gotta give it a try.
1. Note: Not all of us can see your signature (XDA or Tapatalk app users)
2. Does anyone still use the Boot Manager app to run multiple ROMs? I purchased the Pro version years ago when I had my Evo. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.drx2.bootmanager&hl=en
3. Currently using ViperS 3.1.2 but switch between MIUI and CM10.2 when I get the itch...

It does work, but the general consensus is that it's CPU use and battery drain outweigh the minor performance gains.
Try it out, but I'd rather recommend the Xposed modules I listed...
Edit: Greenify and SD Maid are awesome....

So far like greenify and sd maid.

Just installed the BootManager and I'm loving it so far; Xposed is awesome.
My current setup:
- Revelation 1.0.2 with KSM disabled
- SuperSU, just because it handles SU requests a lot better than anything else
- ViperFX, best audio effects mod in my opinion
- Greenify
- AdAway 2.7 just because
- Clean Master. Ridiculously well done for a free app; automated app2sd functionality, backup and restore apps, clean junk files, etc.
- Xposed with Icon Themer, Boot Manager, XVolume30 and Xprivacy

My current setup is :
Mikhei777 ROM with Xloud as add-on
Sultan Kernel @1.08 GHz (SIO, Ondemand, no backlights, no UV )
No seeder or any Swap mod as it's very fast !!
Don't use also greenify or app of the same kind.
I'm very satisfied of my setup

[MOD] [TOOL] FSTRIM On Boot Module

So the 4.3 Firmware for the International S4 came out today. With android 4.3 google implemented FSTRIM support for eMMC flash storage.
Users are reporting "snappier" performance especially in the launcher. So I put together this FSTRIM package which is flashable in a custom recovery.
Basically this is what it does https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.grilledmonkey.lagfix&hl=en
BUT this app is semi-defunct and was made for nexus devices/htc devices primarily (used it alot on my old phones).
What it does:
1. FSTRIM's your /system partition upon flashing.
2. Flashes an int.d script and the FSTRIM module (someone compiled this module for me a while ago, so credit goes to them) to your device and runs it on each boot.
3. Makes your device "snappier".
Download Here

This is not needed on a 4.3 based FW and YMMV.

Tnx for this. This has really solve the occasional lag on my gs4. I have tons of app in my phone and this trim down memory usage. This is more noticeable when using browser, app drawer and app manager. Tnx. I tried everything and this was the only one that works.
"Android Tuner" has TRIM functionality
I set a schedule for it to run every 12 hours
***in addition to other maintenance functions
Just an FYI
Any way to see if this actually loaded? Pardon the ignorance, but I can't seem to find what init.d scripts are loading.

A simple way to know is to look at your ram usage with some app. I used temp cpu v2 widget which shows cpu, ram, temp & battery usage. Before applying this mod I could easily see my ram down to 200 and below with tons of apps I have and would experienced lag in app drawer, browser and app manager. but now it is up to 600 and above and no lags what so ever even with multi tasking.

Better Battery Life for Core(Rooted)

Here are some tips to increase the battery life of our galaxy core
Requirements-
1.Rooted galaxy core
2.Link2SD(download from google play)
Steps-
1.I noticed that the display used the most % of battery. Then I found out it was because of Touchwiz launcher.
so first thing you should is use a different launcher, eg. HOLO, Nova, Apex
After installing the launcher open link2sd and freeze TouchWiz Home(optional)
2.there are some apps which we don't use and which consume a lot of juice, so use link2sd n freeze them
here's the list of apps-
1.Clock(digital)
2.Clock(funky)
3.Clock(modern)
4.Dual clock(analogue)
5.Dual clock(digital)
6.Favourite Apps
7.Game Hub
8.Music Player(optional)(the default music player uses a lot of battery, if you use other music players the freeze this, otherwise leave it)
9.PageBuddyNotiSvc
10.Samsung Apps
11.Simple Alarm Clock

if you want performance over style then install SickSky launcher(free on play store).

yeah i used it and if i use super task killer it will give 400-450 instead of 300-340 ;o HUGE differents!
I now use apex launcher with a galaxy s4 theme looks almost 100% like Real touchwiz. but the one thing that bothers me is that is no labels under the dock icons can i add labels to dock icons on apex ?
GOOD GUIDE BTW!!!
To freeze system apps you neither need root nor any app like Link2sd.All non essential apps can be disabled from application manager itself.Just go to settings/application manager/all and click the app you want to disable and then simply click on disable. To enable just click on enable to enable it again.
wow it's really works, now i have 500mb ram free space . thanks a lot:laugh::good:
im get a better battery life more, thanks for this thread
or just uninstall those bloatwares if your phone's rooted.
Hey thanks, i want to reshare with all my friend

please don't remove any system app .. this might cause system instability ..just greenify apps that are not in use .. use 2 background processes as maximum thanks
