[Q] Heavy memory consumtion - Samsung Galaxy SL i9003

I have a problem.I use stock GB 2.3.6 by samsung,CF root,CWM.
I use lancher 7 and strangely even if i hit "CLEAR RAM" button my mem consumption will be 350 mb on an avg.
Some times if i run high mem consumption games the games just shutters and my phone will restart and Battery will go <20%.
PLZ tell me a solution for reducing mem usage

first of all android's memory management is different. There are mainly 2 reasons when u observe that ur memory is heavily consumed.
1. You are doing heavy multitasking.
2. Android itself minimise apps when it feels that its un-necessarily using resources.
I will suggest u to use some light weight launchers like adw launcher. Also use tweaks, ram script, uc kernel. I hope it will help u.

plz

ya surely...!

You can also try Samsung Andreline Tweaks or Acid Tweaks!
They keep the RAM free. Or, Try a custom ROM with MANY in-built tweaks

or u can use OS MONITOR app to check for running applications n kill them manually

do u know which apps are running in the background which are not used by u?
post them here.
u can freeze them in titanium backup. then defrost(unfreeze) them whenever u want to use them.

Try this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1111145
Use the Program Monitor widget, if using an alternative launcher try this https://market.android.com/details?id=com.elnware.ActiveAppsWidget
I use Advanced Task Killer (avaible in the market).
It comes with a one touch widget which allows you to kill all inactive/unwanted processes with one click and shows you the amount of free RAM. You can also schedule automatic task killing in the background.
Uninstall it. Android does the killing when needed. Thos taskkillers just drain battery and run on background.
And how is this accesories related?

May be true, but I always experience a noticeable speedgain after killing unneeded applications running in the background. And my battery consumption of advanced task killer is below 1% (when monitored).

[Q] Does Autokiller memory optimizer app effective on SGR ?

Hi folks,
I recently ran into severe battery draining issue when i was playing one of the games and left it on (without exiting) and battery went from 78 to 25% in 3 hours.
I was just wondering if Autokiller Memory Optimizer app comes to the rescue for auto closing open inactive running apps and improve the available free memory.
If any of you have been using this app lately, share your feedback on its performance on SGR.

yeah....u can use it!! n it is effective in some extent but the default task killer is better....also u can try deleting unwanted apps from titanium backup if u r rooted.....it'll solve ur battery drainage upto some extent...
Actually this app tweaks the minfree values from android system. I was curious to know its performance on our 1 gb ram (actually 720 MB available to user)...!

The best {root} task killer for jelly bean i9003

THE BEST {ROOT} TASK KILLER FOR JELLY BEAN I9003 and other android based phones On Jelly bean tested
Install Now Just one click and all ram free with a super good looking widget like windows phone :good: don't 4gt to press thnx button
Task managers/ killers or battery savers are totally unnecessary in Jellybeans. They will do more bad than good. Clearing RECENT after use is sufficient.

but the dose not force close app it just close process in background mode like devices having low ram like our i9003 to play heavy games , runs bigger apps we needs to free up memory and force close services also .. so only root killing can do that . And this app is best in root killing and free up maximum amount of ram
All unused apps should be freeze/ uninstalled if you want a performing device. Use autostart to disable unwanted apps startup. That will help reduce apps from auto starting and thus lowering your ram.

i already know that i did that some activities also restarts advance freez works there i know that also but some programs r necessary to run like settings on startup to apply cm settings etc and with normal task killer the settings wont gets killed u need to force stop it for this app stop all in its kind..
The endgame is to freeze/uninstall whatever you don't need. It's better than using any task killer or manager..
* screenshot is my Nexus 7. Trying to run without Gapps. Not phone. But you can still stop many system apps in phone.
And why not?
I do not understand why such a delight from what does not work very well, and then? Android-general can do without it.
if using a task killer is your means of getting a better battery life, then i highly suggest you try out DS Battery Saver and Greenify instead
True... bt i got this as d best root app killer .. in its kind... this is d best

In my opinion, almost every task killer app works in the same way. So there is not much difference there. U may like the interface of one more than another but they do the same thing.
The problem with task managers is that they kill the running apps randomly. I noticed that some apps which have to run in the background simply restart after they are killed. It is simply useless to use task killers in my opinion unless b4 running heavy apps/games.
I suggest u greenify them or use titanium to freeze unwanted ones.
Hit thx.

Greenify is the best. It automatically starts the apps if it gets a GCM push(example when a message arrives). It might not work for some apps cause they don't use GCM.

[Discuss] how to make xperia devices more faster

When we search internet for how to make android or xperia devices more faster then we see the following tips mostly on every third site.
1) Reduce animation scale
2) Remove unused widgets on home screen.
3) Don't use live wallpapers, use static wallpapers.
4) Clean your cache by using clean master app or any other cache cleaner app.
5) Clean your ram by Ram cleaner app. eg. NQ Android booster or you can use other app according to your taste.
6) Restart your device once in a day to clear ram.
7) Use third party home launchers eg. Nova and Apex launchers.
8) Move apps to internal storage to clear phone memory.
9) Delete useless apps from your device.
10) Don't update stock apps which you are not using because it fulls your device memory.
If you have rooted phone, then delete all those useless stock apps which you are not using.
By following above tips we can observe some improvements in the performance of our device.
But some people also claim that by rooting/unlocking bootloader they observe more lags in their device performance and on the other hand, some people say that their device performance become better after rooting.
Now in this thread we can discuss some more tips and tweaks which are helpful in increasing our xperia devices performance.
If you know any trick and tweak that make our devices more faster then you can share that trick in this thread.
1. Change Your stock kernel to another, and change governor (Try and pick the best of You I recommend pegasusq or SmartassH3)

I was using this option long time ago and it doesn't boost anything. It's better to just remove rubbish.
Also it's good to avoid having total mess on the SD card and internal memory. I make total cleaning every few months.
