This is the first Boot Animation of my LG G3 Kollection to come and there will be plenty more to arrive shortly, see link below...
*Note* ALL BOOT ANIMATIONS ARE IN FULL 1440X2560 SCREEN RESOLUTION, Gifs are not actual size and may not play at the correct speed as BootAnimation or ShutDownAnimation.

Instructions

Recommendations:
Move the newly downloaded bootanimation.zip and shutdownanimation.zip into the /system/media folder-> select both files or one or the other, change the permissions to 644 or rw-r-r . I prefer to set both the bootanimation.zip and the shutdownanimation.zip to rw-r-r-T the “T” is a special permission in most Root Explorer (used to keep the startup screen from interrupting the boot animation on longer animations.) Once permissions are set, go ahead and refresh the file and power/restart and Enjoy!

This is the actual image for the Shutdown Animation, the playtime is shorter than the Bootanimation, this will also curb some of the issues others were having. Speed is faster.
>> NOTE << if you are seeing the Notification Bar and the Navigation Bar during the Shutdown go into -> Settings-> Display-> Home Touch Buttons-> and Remove the Gradation setting. Removing the Gradation will display the Boot and Shutdown animations in FULL SCREEN.

This is a Work in Progress... ONLY WORKS ON the QUICK CIRCLE COVER at the present time....
For now I had to get something up as I'm tired of looking at that stock Boot Animation in the Circle cover, well, for me it has been more or less a black hole. This is booting and playing, it runs, changes when the cover opens and closes, not all there yet, but the change is a good thing. I will have it completed shortly and updated very soon.

i cant get it to work. looks like my bootanimation is somehow hardcoded. even if i removed it in /system/media folder and placing the boot and shutdown animation from here, it still loads my crap provider's bootanimation and shutdown animation. any ideas??

Did you try it with tools like ROM toolbox or others?
May I ask what provider logo is included in your bootanimation?

nope didnt use rom toolbox, its a local provider here in singapore.. (starhub).
when you power on the phone it will show the lg logo, then afterwards it'll show starhub.

If you could either pm a copy of your media folder to me or pm some screenshots of the contents of what is in the media folder, I'd be happy to see if I can find out what is preventing the bootanimation from running.

Some providers have their own folder with boot animation elsewhere on the drive, but don't ask me where cause I don't know, you would have to search the system partition for it.

yeah i got this plus shutdown animation. tried to dump on my other folder then reboot. lg logo shows then next screen is blank. i tot it bootlooped but thank god it didnt

I've got as far as changing the .zip file permissions, however, it says "changing permissions was not successful. Please note that some file systems do not allow permission changes." I don't understand why as the files are on the emulated partition and not my SD card. Does anyone have any ideas?

Instructions To Change BootAnimation :
- Download The BootAnimation.zip You Like
- Rename It To "sanim.zip"
- Copy This BootAnimation To Your Phone's SD Card ( Or Wherever You Have Your BootAnimation )
- Open Up RootExplorer
- Go Into System/Media And Make A BackUp Of The Original "Sanim.zip" ( Precaution! In case Something Goes Wrong! )
- Now Copy The BootAnimation.zip File ( Which We Just Renamed To "sanim.zip")
- Paste It In System/Media And Overwrite The Existing One
- Long Press The "sanim.zip" ( Which We Just Pasted )
- Click On "Permissions"
- Set It To rw-r--r-- ( See The ScreenShot Given )
Instructions To Change PowerOn Sound :
If you get a " PowerOn "Sound File along with the BootAnimation, just follow the given instructions to change the PowerOn Sound
- Go To System/Etc
- Make A Backup Of The Original PowerOn Sound ( Precaution! In case Something Goes Wrong! )
- Now To Your Phone's SD Card ( Or Wherever You Have Your PowerOn File )
- Now Copy The PowerOn File
- Go To System/Etc
- Paste The PowerOn File And Overwrite The Existing One

Don´t work .... With the original that you could have placed boot only appears that only a small image, then I remembered to put all the images inside a folder and put the original file desc.
So now everything went ok, but they just have to put some more pictures from the bottom once again not to cut the animation, because you do not already have the loop.

Hi... I replaced my bootanimation with marvel... all goes ok! But now if I replaced again bootanimation with a new one, it don't change. I have again marvel. Why??

I have changed my BootAnimation many times! No problem for me!
Check the Permissions! Follow the Instructions carefully!

I checked the permission, i follow instruction, but it don't change, i have always marvel :-( maybe i need to replace too bootanimation.zip folder too??

Hey guys, I was just throwing this out here. If you want any custom boot animations you want done, feel free to post your requests. If you want a completely new boot animation just pm me details on what you are looking for. If you like the edited animations just thank me in thread or donate to me. Have a nice day!

To install a boot animation. You don't have to be rooted and you must have a file explorer of some sort. For me Root Explorer is very helpful.
Rooted:
Then go to system>media>then rename the existing boot animation to something different. This is pretty much backing it up. An example of what to name is bootanimation.zip1. Then go to the boot animation you want then copy and paste it to the system/media folder. Then you reboot and relax.

Not Rooted:
Put files in /data/local. Make the file if you must. Do same thing except in previously mentioned file as you would in /system/media
TO ADD SOUND: YOU MUST, MUST, MUST BE ROOTED TO ADD SOUND LIKE THIS!!! STOCK ALREADY HAS IT!
1. Download the "bootsnd.sh" file and put it on the root of your sd card. ( It is the file right below step 3)
2. Download the "android_audio.mp3"(or you can get a .MP3 and rename it) file and using root explorer copy it to /system/media
3. Open Terminal Emulator and type the following commands. Press enter after each line:
su
cd /sdcard
sh bootsnd.sh
reboot

To install a boot animation. You must be rooted and have a file explorer of some sort. For me Root Explorer is very helpful. Then go to system>media>then rename the existing boot animation to something different. This is pretty much backing it up. An example of what to name is bootanimation.zip1. Then go to the boot animation you want then copy and paste it to the system/media folder. Then you reboot and relax.

Sorry, but no you don't need to be rooted to use a different animation. Push the bootanimation.zip to /data/local/ the OS will look there first during startup then to the /system/media/ location. This was implemented in 2.2 or 2.3 I can't remember which.

Theme best when used with an oldschool terminal style font. For myself, I'm using clacon.ttf but the font size may be too small for some of you. The theme is selects roboto as the baseline font so whether you manually replace roboto in /system/fonts or you use a font installer app (I used Font Installer from the Play Store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jrummy.font.installer).

You can also theme the LG widgets and the status bar background and set the font. See @RocketSauce83's thread here for examples. It would be cool if they allow for more. I have not tried making one yet but I wonder how hard it would be to add to the list of apps that the theme applies icons to automatically on the homescreen and app drawer... It would be great to have a theme template that we could just add icons from icon packs to and have more or most icons themed without the user having to set each one.

I'll check out the thread, thanks! As for adding more icons, I decompiled the apk and it looks doable, I'm not a developer though so I have some trial and error testing ahead of me.
Just an fyi, I don't have much free time but I definitely will be pursuing this. Keep the input coming, it's much appreciated! !

This was a funny little Star Wars themed opening I thought of recently to honor our new bootloader unlock courtesy of BUMP! Star Wars is a registered trademark("George Lucas is gonna sue somebody!" - or is it Disney now?!). It may not be for everyone, Ive sped it up a bit but it is still imo long for a bootanimation. The good part is that if anyone experiences lag on first booting their g3(just until everything loads) that lag is gone by the time the animation is over.
I've made this bootanimation in two resolutions. 1440x1080 which holds my original video's ratio but isn't full screen on our phone and 1440x2560 which is full screen but squishes the picture a bit. This animation is in portrait mode.
As always, make sure you make a nandroid backup via TWRP before flashing. These zips will replace your bootanimation and boot sound but will not back up your original. If you would like to have a backup of your originals outside of the nandroid, read the directions below for the non flashable zips to know which files you need to save.

I'm leaving the individual files here just for the heck of it(Some people like doing things manually, or maybe you just haven't used BUMP! yet so you are without a custom recovery). You have to manually put the bootanimation.zip into your system/media folder and change permissions(-rw-r--r-- aka 644). Also, you will want to delete your old boot animation(make a backup or just rename your bootanimation.zip to bootanimation.zip.bak). The G3 has two bootanimations if you're on Sprint(I'm not sure about the other carriers) so you will want to replace both bootanimation.zip and bootanimation_sprint.zip(Just rename this file and have two copies in system/media).
For Sound:
Manually put PowerOn.ogg into system/media/audio/ui for working sound(Make a backup or rename your original to PowerOn.ogg.bak as well). Again, on Sprint you need to replace this file AND PowerOn_Sprint.ogg. You ALSO may need to replace the files in carrier/cust/poweron or just delete that folder altogether(That's what I did).

Star Wars Lightsaber Lock/Unlock Sounds!
I am providing 2 flashable zips, one to change all lock/unlock sounds to lightsaber sounds - The other is the stock lg sounds in case you want to revert the changes. The disclaimer above goes for these as well. They have been tested but you should still make a nandroid just in case. If your phone becomes SKYNET, I don't want to hear complaints. Besides.....if SKYNET becomes self aware you won't be able to find me anyway......it's called a contingency plan, people.
Instructions:

*NEW* Jedi and Sith Navbar Softkey Themes!
These require root and G3 Tweaksbox installed to fully work. Make sure you have Navbar themes turned on in Tweaksbox and options set to "stock". Install these like a regular apk(make sure you allow to install from unknown sources) then navigate to settings->display->home touch buttons->colors and select the theme you want to use.. If tweaksbox is already set up they should work immediately - any changes you make to tweaksbox will require a reboot however.

Installed successfully. dvhost powerom.ogg of the link does not work, you could review it?, I had to use the ondrive, that if it worked for me.

As for a post on HTCMania - absolutely. I put in the OP that you can do whatever you want with this as long as you're not profiting off of it. Share the love my friend.
EDIT: devhost poweron.ogg link worked just fine for me. Did you use the small grey download button in the middle? The ads on devhost get people sometimes......
