Say hello to Android L Developer Preview for HTC One
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
What is this?
This is a direct port of Android L Developer Preview, which was released for the Nexus 5 and Nexus 7 (2013, WiFi). This is not a SDK port, this is the real deal!
How did you do it?
Magic! Just kidding, a lot of hard work went into porting everything. Special thanks to these mega awesome guys, this ROM would've not been possible if they didn't help us (make sure you thank them too):
sykopompos - For helping me out with ramdisk and providing useful tips
poondog - For helping me fix the graphical glitches in kernel (and yes, I am using his awesome kernel)
feltox and manups4e - For helping me in additional debugging of the builds
What works and what doesn't work?
At the moment, this port is in alpha stages. We are working really hard every day to fix the major issues quickly, but since this is a non-Nexus device, it's quite complicated to get things working smoothly. Half of the things work, half of the things don't work.
You are more than welcome if you want to help us in fixing bugs, together we can eliminate the bugs and fix issues faster
What doesn't work at the moment:
WiFi
Bluetooth
Data DATA WORKS NOW (thanks to @manups4e)
Sensors (except GPS)
Camera
Sound
What works at the moment:
Everything else as far as I know, but do let me know if you find anything else that doesn't work
Once again, this is currently in ALPHA stage and we are working to fix whatever is not working, so please don't spam this thread with posts like "Camera does nt work, what 2 do"
Screenshot
How to install:
Download the ROM
Place the ROM in your internal storage/SD card
Reboot into recovery (MUST BE LATEST TWRP/CWM)
Wipe the following partitions: cache, dalvik cache, data and system
Flash ROM
Reboot
First boot takes around 10-15 minutes
Download

FAQ
Q. Can I flash a custom kernel on top of it?
A. No, we use a heavily modified ramdisk and kernel, so if you flash another kernel the ROM will stop booting. DO NOT FLASH ANY CUSTOM KERNEL ON TOP OF THIS
Q. XYZ doesn't work
A. This ROM is currently in ALPHA stages so that is expected. On top of that, Android L is currently a developer preview so any bugs in the developer preview will show up on this port as well.
Hi everyone,
GPL required Kernel source here, more info soon
https://github.com/poondog/android_kernel_htc_msm8960
looks nice, great job!! I will try it when few bugs are ironed out, don't have time right now. Keep up the good work :highfive:

Those bugs should be fixed much quicker now that more people have acces to it... at least I hope so.
you forgot to mention that mtp doesn't work properly too....to me htc one is shown on mobile devices but i can't access the sdcard without adb
What is the kernel used? Maybe that is the main reason for most of the bugs since most of them are driver related issues.

I'm not sure what one of my guys did to fix that but it was fixed. What are you guys using for your base? N5 and n7 mixed or the n4 port? We fixed a lot of things in the port that wasn't working right in the Dev preview

the kernel is aosp with cyanogenmod cafs (thx poondog) and the ramdisk files are the cm ones updated with latest android L strings

The kernel is by @poondog, he modified it a bit to fix the graphical glitches on our ROM.
proprietary files from gpe have different dimensions then the cm ones....if we are using cm cafs isn't it better to use cm proprietary files?

I've split the boot image and seen that yesterday. I might look at the gpe ramdisk tomorrow and maybe that can be cleaned up a bit better then mucking around in the cm one removing the extra crap that you guys don't have and if you did would probably break L

You guys should have used the n4 port as a base, there is a lot of stuff that we went through and fixed in it that is broken if you use the developer preview bases. I thought you switched to us for your base and that is why I couldn't understand why some things weren't working when I knew they were working and fixed in the n4 port

I tried to but was having way more issues. Anyway, I'll look into that again tomorrow, right now I have to clean the builds, there are lots of libs and files that are specific to flo and serve no purpose to m7 so gotta throw them away.

good news!
i just saw that the kernel sources for the one v are on htcdev.com ready for download ... i guess this means that we shouldn't have to wait too long for the one s kernel sources

maybe but i would not bet on that.
the one v uses the 8255 chipset, for that there are already many devices out while for our msm8960 the one s is the first.
they might keep the source back because of that.
but of course i hope they dont

so you think that htc doesn't want to "help" other manufacturers with their kernel adaptations?
possible but i can't imagine what htc would gain by holding the kernel code back on purpose. actually i think that since the community is always fixing their bugs and issues they can only profit from an early release of the code ... but let's see and hope that you are wrong

Welcome to the unofficial CyanogenMod 9 nightlies
The releases will co-inside and the build start time is at 03:01 UTC every sunday night or on special occasion, and should be uploaded soon after. If at anytime the builds are not there, then there was a problem building the ROM, and we will have a look at it ASAP.
CM9 is not actively developed anymore, neither from my side, nor upstream - please consider installing CM10.1 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2092937)
The buildbot resources are beeing used for other projects and/or Jellybean builds

These builds are compiled from the latest CyanogenMod repos and device repos on device and vendor files.
Furthermore these builds are multiDPI, i.e. you can run the rom at any dpi between 160 and 240 while having hi-res assets.
Because of the locked bootloader of the P940 this is a 2nd-init rom, which means that the recovery is included within every system update. So if you want a recovery other than the included you need to reapply it after an update.
For more info see this article about 2nd-init:http://cvpcs.org/blog/2011-06-14/2nd-init._what_it_is_and_how_it_works
We can now sign boot images and therefore a custom kernel is included:
https://github.com/milaq/android_kernel_lge_p940/commits/ics
Initial install
Make sure you are updated to stock LG ICS update (v20d) prior flashing the first time.
And remember to wipe data/cache
(These steps need only to be done once. Later updates can be just flashed over an existing installation without the need of a wipe)
For a list of what is working and what not, see the second post.
And as always: I take no responsibility whatsoever for raging, screaming, crying, frustration, failing, confusion, etc.
You need to have a custom recovery installed in order to flash these builds;
e.g. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1859662

Tip: If you want to have your density settings persist over updates and don't want to edit build.prop with every update, use local.prop.
create a file named local.prop in your /data root (i.e. /data/local.prop) with the following contents (overrides ro.sf.lcd_density in build.prop):

It is excellent. Just a question why don't you compile CM10 instead of CM9?
If you can port CM9 then CM10 will not be a difficult job to you.

CM9 are for ICS ROMs while CM10 are for JB ROMs and unfortunately we don't have Beans as of this date.
Sent from LG Prada 3.0 ICS 4.0.4
we use a few precompiled bits like audio and ril because lg decided to use non-standard implementations for most of the stuff.
these arent fully compatible with jellybean, so there are more issues on jb than on ics.
the latest stock firmware is ics it is much less of a hassle debugging cm9 as i got something to look at.
i decided to port cm9, work out most of the bugs and try to get most of the stuff working compiling from non-lg bits.
moving to jellybean from there will be much easier then.
once cm9 is rockstable it wont be long until cm10.
cheers

of course you need to do a full data wipe if you are coming from a lg rom.
for storage mounting options, press menu at the options->storage screen. you can then choose between mtp and mass storage (or even ptp)
To me already not turn me on the mobile, always stays in the animacon. I decided to the V20D new flashearde with flashtool and I feel the same.
Edit: Hard Reset with buttons VOL-, Power and Camera and arranged problem.
For me, It stucks on Prada Logo.
Edited: I have already done a full wipe.
Is this rom running of CM9 Kernel or stock
fixed fwpath in the latest version (07.11).
so wifi hotspot should be working now.

Wow thanks! Gonna test it. I really like the concept and idea of slimroms. Thanks for porting it! But it's still a very huge rom. Isn't it possible to make it slimmer than it is? I mean slimbean was around 40Mb slimmer... Or did Google add to many features?
ion based?

yes sure ion based no more pmem base
Again, the two fields are reserved. I sense that the support will be as short as the previous ROM.
.
Despite this, I am very happy and abandoning Carbon from educk because he had no black interface. I hope that Slim is black.
======= edit =======
Black interface works. For me, too small font. Wifi tethering is not working. On the other identical installation does not work reboot into recovery. I'm going to Carbon from educk.

.
Great work Thanks

Hi Kris,
honestly I really was hoping you will do this release - as you did with previous ones and you did not disappoint us^^
The ROM runs great and smooth.
All I was missing were some significant SlimROM-settings - at the moment they are missing completely specifically General, Interface and Navigation settings look quite empty - is this stil WIP by SlimROM devs? Attached I marked missing sections from those settings.

slimkat as it is is a WIP rom so there are still missing some stuff i think slimrom team is going to readd the stuff which is significant for the rom just have patience and let the team some time on kitkat all have to be reimplemented from scratch because of the huge changes on all kind of source (it is not like android 4.3)
and i think the team is working also on some new stuff just like the TRDS which is now on version 3 there are comming some big stuff if you look on the commit from TRDS
and low battery status you can find on settings battery/accu (do not know exactly how it is named)
anyone can post screenshots please ? thanks

Your wish is my demand
Testing it since this morning and it is the first ROM which has dark theme enabled :good: As already mentioned by magicw and Kris there are some settings missing - like lockscreen settings - or is there a hidden setting i haven't found yet ??? I tried to connect via USB to my PC but i am not able to connect it - maybe it is related to my "testphone" but afair i could connect with the same phone under MoKee to pc - a little bug ?
After connecting to PC USB-Tethering is shown - but it is not activated in the devellopers settings also after a wipe.
With the original resolution (dpi) the scrolling is not that smooth as i was accustomed to the former SlimBean - but as Kris mentioned - WIP
But i think that it will soon reach the wellknown quality of SlimROMs...
Cheers
Rhonin

No ETA my friend.. Its against the rules.
Devs do this out of their free time.
If u really want to help your friend just do the perquisites and tell him how to install the zip file once it is downloaded.

I used @ketut.kumajaya ´s CM 11 source as base for my Setup and did minor modifications to make the ROM compatible with this device.

I confirm lt013g build boot and work very well on my T311 :good: Still missing a lot of AOKP 4.3 features, depend on AOKP Team KitKat port progress.
Sweet aokp. Gonna flash this bad boy soon as home

Finished setting it up and restoring apps. Digging it so far, everything seems to be working though I havent tried a few things such as the camera or gallery yet.
All these ROMs tend to share the same issue: the camera doesn't work.
I noticed this with a few ROMs I tested on my phone as well - something about the cameras always seem to take longer to get working.

As soon as CM bugs are fixed they'll be fixed automatically in AOKP...
running this dual-booted on my wifi only model now.
looks nice, HDMI/MHL not working by default... found a build.prop edit i'll be trying to get that working ("Add "ro.hdmi.enable" set value to "true" ")
edit: didnt work. i wanted to go a custom rom and have HDMI/MHL working, is there any tweaks to enable it or should i give up on this rom?
Working really well on my SM-T310, thanks !
What launchers come with this ROM? Any recommendations for what to start with?
Front and rear camera working fine for me. Should this be the case?

I have to say, MHL support would be sexalicious, especially for me working at Futureshop trapped in the perpetually dead Samsung store surrounded by TVs that all have MHL.

for now i went back to stock. tried dual booting, but the dual boot kernel blocks overclocking, which i rather need for the HD anime i watch in software decoding.
Is this a dead rom? Link in OP shows "not found".

Just had quick talk with @Chirag_Galani in regards to this ROMs future and he has said to hopefully have some more AOKP builds for us by the end of May as he has been studying for his final exams (Good luck :good.
Due to PC format issues he also has to work on the ROM from scratch but says the expected build will be bug free and will have far more stability, features and various enhancements in the ROM.
Ok guys.
Just to inform you I have not forgotten this thread. Yesterday i had compiled a build and it had some bugs which i expect to debug at my earliest and post an update to this ROM for your device.
Sorry for the delay but I had my final exams, studies and busy life. Now things have improved and I have started Android Development yet again.
Regards,
Chirag.

Welcome to HyperDroidAOXP (Android Open-Source Xtreme Project), a ROM developed for people who like to build up their own ROMs with a minimal, yet functional working base. The Android Open-Source Xtreme Project is an Android Aftermarket Firmware project that is built off the latest AOSP source as customized by the SlimRom Team.
Highlights:
Built from source based on AOSP SlimRom and CyanogenMod 10.1
Major Features from AOSP based SlimROM.
Some features from CM and AOKP are also included.
ROM Built using the LINARIO Toolchain
Stweaks, EasyUMS and Superuser built-in with a Settings entry
OTA powered by goo.im
3rd party Apps that I find as essential are included (these are the ones I install after every fresh flash and are installed in data/app so you can easily uninstall them) e.g. Titanium Backup, Google Keep and Flipboard
Gapps by SlimRom built-in (including Google Now and Face Unlock)
Performance Features:
Sysctl enabled, auto zipalign for ALL apps, cron schedules enabled
Custom hosts file to block ads
Sysctl tweaks included for performance
Look, Feel, Fit & Finish:
Hybrid theme for the most professional look: Thanks to all 3 people!
Some Lucid PNG's by sonnysekhon
Black Exodus by Nitroz
AlloyWhite theme by xIC-MACIx
LCD Density at 240 by default
Themed Fastest Customizable Launcher (Apex Launcher)
Known issues (same as CM 10.1 and most AOSP based Firmware)
How to Install (If coming from another ROM):
Full Wipe
Download HyperDroid AOXP Nonkexec here
Gapps Inverted
Flash
Test and Enjoy!

I use battery widget for proper percentage value
Everything is good except the sound recording in video mode. What might be the problem? Camera working well but sound is not recorded when video recording. Tried several camera apk's but the problem still persists. Thanks in advance for this great rom and also for the solutions for ma problem.
Hopeful fixes incoming.

Hi there, sorry I didn't respond to you in so long but I couldn't help on these projects at the time. Your issue with the camera is something I can solve and intend to re-port and upload it today since others have issues with it as well. I will update this post with the link when it's uploaded, but just to let you and others know that I may not be able to solve all the issues that exist since porting doesn't cure rom-related bugs.
I'll do what I can at least , since this rom is no longer supported in the source device forum so please understand and thank you for your patience.
Edit: Ok, it's finally done and here's the link to it separately from the OP: Re-ported HyperDroid AOXP Nonkexec. If any issue persists or develops, then let me know but keep in mind what I said earlier, thank you and enjoy!

A big thank you to you for trying to help. Sorry for bothering when u are busy. Just need some inf, so what's the change happeend in the new reporting? Is it a change in camera apk and stuff or anything else? Will I be able to fix the issue by just extracting usefu from the re-port to my existing installation?
Thank in advance! :good:

No trouble really and I just addressed the camera recording issue the most. I think simply wiping cache/dalvik and flashing the fixed rom zip should be enough to get things straitened out. If you still experience your aforementioned bugs or worse, then a clean installation will be needed.
