Brightness and volume slider D850 - AT&T LG G3

I noticed on the Att model they removed the brightness and volume sliders from the drip down menu
Is there a way to flash the system file to add it back in? There isn't an option for it in the G3 tweak box.

I came here to ask this same thing...why would they remove a feature that we could toggle on and off?
Sent from my LG-D850 using XDA Free mobile app

I had it on my F400S and I was surprised that it was removed, and call recording but the ladder was easily fixed .

In G3 Tweaksbox you can enable the status bar brightness slider under Theme > Status Bar > Enable Status Bar sliding (@ bottom of menu)
Note this isn't a slider in the drop down. You touch the status bar without dragging down and slide to change brightness.

I don't have that drag status bar to change brightness functionality on my d850.

I have the icon I can talk that has preset increments but I like to manually slide it sometimes rather than going into the settings.

They might have done this to fix the Chromecast System UI crash

I know it's not as simple, but if you long press on any of the toggles it brings you right to their settings. In the brightness slider case, display settings. Just in case people don't use tweaksbox.

I know, but thats more of a hassle, and I would rather have the slider. Maybe tweaks box will have that feature added to it.

As stated above, only way to get this functionality (somewhat) is to use G3 Tweakbox Xposed module on rooted phone. However this module only gives you ability to change brightness while sliding/dragging your finger on notification bar. Its not what you are looking for but serves the purpose just fine.
However I forgot if this option was enabled in free version of G3 Tweakbox or not. You would have to check yourself since I have already unlocked the premium version so can't go back to verify.

Yes, it is usable in the free version of TweaksBox.

if someone could pull the SystemUI.apk from the Korean variant and then drop your SystemUI.apk, it can be modded in...
this is partially what xda is here for.

Holy cow....ATT and their typical bull****. First the bloatware now this.
It makes absolutely no sense for them to remove such a useful feature. This reminds me of when ATT removed the mobile data toggle on the S4.
Either way, I hope someone will figure out how to add this feature back.

Did you guys try to tap the edit icon in the list of icons in the status bar? In there you can select the toggles you want in the status bar as well as enable volume and brightness Sliders.

As lennyuk said earlier, it might have something to do with Chromecast not working because of these sliders in the dropdown menu (some say so)

[MOD][9/29] Replace Menu Key with Recent Apps, Long Press Home for Menu

Hi guys, thanks to the invaluable help of users Wesley32 and jug6ernaut, I've managed to port my Recent Apps key mod to the AT&T version of the G2. See the original verizon thread for details. In short, it replaces the Menu Key with Recent Apps, and allows you to Long Press on home to pull up the menu.
To install, flash ATT_RecentAppsKeyMod_v0.2.zip using TWRP.
Update 10/1
I've merged this with burningmember's no-carrier, no-brightness and no-volume slider mod from this thread
Here's the version with the black status bar: ATT_RecentAppsKey-NoVolume-NoBrightness-BlackBar.zip
And with the stock gray status bar: ATT_RecentAppsKey-NoVolume-NoBrightness.zip
I've also included a mod that will force apps to display the "vertical ellipsis" Action Bar overflow menu. To install it, flash ATT_EnableActionBarOverflowMenu_v0.2.zip. Be aware that enabling the overflow menu will put a big ugly menu button at the bottom of any activity that has a menu but doesn't have an action bar, including the built-in Settings and Phone apps.
Please note that you need to flash both ATT_EnableActionBarOverflowMenu_v0.2.zip and one of the SystemUI mods if you want the Recent Apps key mod and the overflow menu. The overflow menu mod will work by itself also, if you don't care about changing the nav bar.
*** Reverting ***
If you decide this isn't for you, flash ATT_RevertSefnapMods.zip, which will restore the stock versions of all affected files, namely:
Code:
/system/app/LGSystemUI.apk
/system/app/LGSystemUI.odex
/system/framework/android.policy.odex
/system/framework/framework.odex
Please let me know if anything is broken or if you have any problems installing.
Thanks, and enjoy!
I'm assuming this will replace the navbar size mod so could you make versions in the same sizes? I really like freeing up some space with the medium size. This is awesome though I will definitely flash this over the size mod. Just something I was wondering. Thank you for this, man. Awesome work.
Edit: just flashed and the size mod is still applied. Awesome work. This is great. Thank you so much. My status bar mod, however reverted back to stock. Any idea how I could get them working together? I was using the black status bar w/ sliders mod for at&t.

Well that's the last time you can use that excuse . Great mod, been checking your other thread waiting for this to show up. I'm with the other guys on the requests, basically centerclock w/o amm, No carrier, and battery percent. Not that I am even requesting this. That in my OPINION would complete this mod. Great work by the way.

depends entirely on what CleanRom is based on. If it is based on the Att rom, then it should.

Sefnap, any chance you can look at getting this working on the "basicROM" it flashes beautifully, but the menu overflow, mod does not work, nor the long press home for settings. That ROM. is sweet, but without settings and your overflow menu, I had to revert to Clean ROM... Not that is a bad thing

I have the same question / issue.

Is this compatible with the Canadian D803 as well?
Anyone got a screenshot what the version with the black status bar looks like?
Also this is flashable over the stock odexed ROM, right?
Not sure about the other mods, but flashing the on-screen overflow menu action bar will soft brick the D803.
Don't flash for d800, your phone won't get passed the boot screen.
My recommendation for replacing the Menu button by Recent Apps is to use the Xposed framework. I was able to do it with the G2 TweaksBox module 2.0 RC3.

[Q] Navigation button customization on stock

I'm trying to go back to stock. The ROM I'm using now allows 5 customized navigation buttons. This seems to be the only mod I can't do without. Does anyone know how to get 5 nav buttons and your nav bar on a stock or close to stock rom?
My nav bar actions:
second action is long press
pull down notification bar, torch
home, search
back, kill app
recent app list, last app
app drawer, settings

Only thing that may be able to do this would be an Xposed framework and module for Nav Bar customizing. Try Gravitybox or one of them.

You sure about that? They have like 20 different options and you can cram 9 different buttons on the nav bar. I doubt the custom rom you were playing with had more options than that.

I think you are being too picky. If you are wanting to be on stock ROM, the only way you are going to get those customizations are with Xposed or an app. If neither does the job, you should just stay on the ROM you are using.
I'm not to picky, I live without a lot of options. My rom has tons of options and all I want is its navbar settings in xposed. I think the only customization this phone really needs is a personal smaller navbar.

Project Ameliorate Toolbox (P.A.T)

As the creator of many toolboxes for Motorola devices over the past 4 years I decided to try my hand at merging my toolbox with this new fangled thing called xPosed framework. This is where Project Ameliorate Toolbox comes in.
This toolbox is an extension of not only my previous works but I also imported parts of GravityBox as well as built my own parts for the xPosed portion of this toolbox.
** Gravity Box Parts **
I cherry picked some parts from GravityBox, these parts were picked because they work best on the X, and they are what I use.
You should check this out!

Parts of XYZ TOOLBOX may conflict with other xPosed Modules, if this occurs then you should uninstall the other modules.

Will you be adding the ability to have the long press Nav key options from Gravity Box? The GB dev spent alot of time working with Moto X owners to get everything working perfectly. XYZ module ui looks very nice, easy to navigate to find the changes you want to make. Are you adding the module to the Xposed repository so we can easily see updates?

The "exit an application" on back button is not how Android handles the life cycle of apps. The OS will take you back one stack (view, etc.), so if you are in an application with multiple views then the back button will keep going backwards through views until you eventually get back to the home screen.

They are an application that I had built previously and have now added to my version of an enhanced Toolbox. You can't find them in GB. (I hope this answers the question).

Adding Retro Settings Shortcut Button in Newer Versions of Android?

Remember how, in the older versions of Android, there was a button to get to Settings where the status bar was when you pulled down the notification shade?
Now, you can dedicate a whole tile to it, and it simulates the same affect, except... I don't like it.
See attached picture. There's plenty of space up there to have a little settings button. I hate having to swipe over to the tiles to get to it.
Anyone know how I can get this beloved retro feature back?

Adding toggles to my notification pull-down area

The attached picture is how my notification area looks
I got a settings button on top-right of screen, it opens settings app.
But the settings app starts slowly, and usually used up so much ram.
After I closed the settings app and back to my previous using app, It's already closed and restarting.
Is there any way to add a button and a page then when I tap on it, the notification area will switch to the added page with the toggles like WiFi and brightness or something?
