I accidentally deleted the default messaging app on my moto g 4G
I am now unable to send messages with hangouts(If i try to type a text it will crash, works with online messages though)
Would anyone be willing to get the .apk from titanium and post it here?
Hope to hear back soon anyway and thankyou

It looks like you've got your issue solved, but if anyone searches for Mms.apk in the future and finds this thread it's attached here.
Pretty much title. I am using Textsecure but my wife's phone has issues accepting picture messages through textsecure while it's encrypted so I was going to send pictures via messaging but even adjusting the app ops settings messaging is still saying it's not allowed because it's not the default sms app. Anyway around this?

Thanks, but what I was looking for is a way to send messages with Messaging when it's NOT the Default SMS app. I want all of my texts going in to Textsecure and be able to send pictures with Messaging. But when Messaging isn't the Default SMS app, it doesn't allow you to send messages. Even if I give it permission in App Ops. :\

Nope. You can only use 1 at a time.
Hi guys,
I'm trying to migrate all my text messages including threaded group MMS from my Nexus 4 to my new Nexus 5. On my N4, I was using the stock messaging app, not hangout as my default messaging service.
I used My Backup Pro to migrate all the stuff over. It worked, sorta. All times on my threads were set to "5:02am" which is probably when the transfer finished. Therefore they're all chronologically jumbled.
Furthermore the MMS threads didn't show up properly. I would only see my response in the group thread.
PS. I downloaded the stock messaging app to use on my Nexus 5. And all these problems are shown on that app. Would you think using Hangout as default will change this?
I was wondering whether you guys had similar experiences and if you know any better ways to go about doing this again.
Ben
I use SMS Backup and Restore. Never had an issue with it. Timestamps are all what they should be.

Yup! Just make sure you check the box for MMS. I think it's free so there's no reason to not try it.

Cool, I'll give it a shot. Are you MMS group threaded or just pictures?
Okay, so I deleted the stock Android messaging app from my N5 and used Hangout as my default messaging app. And it seems like everything got transferred properly. Timestamps are all okay.
The only problem now are group MMS threads. When I open it, it just shows my responses. All the group participant responses don't show up.
Any clues?
I attached two pics to illustrate what I'm talking about. The group thread MMS only contains my response and the participant's response it buried in their SMS thread.
Today I was writing a text message and before sending the message I switched to someting else and forgot to send.
Later I remembered about sending the sms and I was very sure about it being there in my drafts.
But to all my surprise there was no draft.
I checked all settings everything but nothing for drafts.
Is this a new feature in "Android"?
Please help me.
Dude don't get confused... just Type anything thing in Message body But Important thing is Don't forget to add recipient now get out from message and finally u found Draft in Moto G... but if U don't add Recipient then your message will be discarded.

Tried some third party notes apps but all of them are data connection dependent.
I need a simple application that can allow me to store my text and some checklist or to do list wil be good.
Do you know any that does the above mention tasks without a data connection and without signing up with those apps.
I searched Play Store but there a lot to try with less description.
I'm using Color notes it's data independent and working great..!!

Hi everyone! So basically... about a month ago I got a new text message (regular default text message) on my Xperia Z3. I went to the text message list, to find there was no unread texts atall. The most annoying part of this is that on my lockscreen it takes up my message (where I could see part/beginning of the text), so when I now get a new text it just says "2 new messages" and never actually displays the text. This has been going on for about a month now and I have just dealt with it, hoping a new update would come out and maybe correct this. Now all of a sudden today....I have received another text! so now there are two texts I can not view or don't even exist. Any ideas? not a major problem I understand, but quite the inconvenience. Plus I could not find anyone else having the same problem online.
Thanks!!
Also, If you need any pictures to help analyse the problem don't hesitate to ask.
Have you tried clearing data and cache for the Messaging app?

It may well do. Use an SMS backup tool from the Play Store first or the phones own?
