[Q] What's the normal charging time of Tab 2 7.0 3g ? - Galaxy Tab 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have a gt-p3100 and it takes about five hours to fully charged not really 100% but just 99% and from 99% to 100% it takes about an hour.
Is it normal or it doesn't,and If it doesn't what is the problem?
Thanks in advance

Oh yeah, my teacher's Tab got that issue too.
Charge it while it's turned on, she says it always solves it and cuts charging time by half

No I changed it while it's turned on and took about 4.5 hours to 99% after that it took about an hour to 100%.
Do you have any idea why ?

My Tab is 8 months old and never had that issue. Maybe it's software, maybe it's hardware.
You could try a different charger, too.

I borrowed my friend's USB cable and I changed my tab with my charger but using my friend's USB cable.
It took 2 minutes / 1% and when I using my cable it took about 3 minutes / 1% so I I think the cable is the problem.
BTW thanks bro for helping me

Battery charging extremely slow?

Hey guys I just got my nexus s and im wondering why my battery is charging so slowly. I started charging it while it was completely dead and it took almost 6 hours too completely finish charging. Is there something wrong?
Btw I just got the phone yesterday and this is my second charge.

Which charger are you using?
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA Premium App

Are you using the factory wall charger or? Are you charging with a wall charger or USB hooked to computer/car? I honestly do not notice this problem with the NS.

I was using an iPod wall adapter right now because i forgot mine at home..
Also I know this is offtopic but can someone tell me how to optimize the battery life on this phone? Idle why but I feel like the battery isn't that great on this phone

Mine took like 3hour 20min-ish for the first charge. 3hour-ish for the second and third.

If you have the Super Amoled version, then you can use an all black desktop screen saver, switch your email/Facebook/weather syncs to a later time (2-6 hours instead of every 30 minutes), put the phone in 2g only mode when your not browsing the web or downloading apps, etc.

What the hell does this got to do with a 6 hour charge time ? As if the display is on all the time... or as if the syncing uses 10%+ off battery. It has nothing to do with this stuff, you're just not on the same page as the problem.
Try again with the original charger plugged into the wall socket, not into USB.

Why don't you read before you post tough guy? You sound real stupid. The OP asked an off topic question about how he can gain better battery life. "Hooked on Phonics" anyone?

Oh, I get it. Sorry, my bad.
I realised my Nexus S does take some time to charge up fully as compared to my Incredible S though.
Charger's rating is diff though after observing. 1A against 0.7mA

My s3 was on fire!!!!

I went to bed normal. Plugged in my s3 into the charger . My battery was like at 4%. I leave the phone on because I use it as an alarm clock. I woke up at 6am and NY phone is really really hot I have no idea why? Why would this be? So I turn it off and let it cool down. Mean the screen was off and everything. Could my charger be bad or? It was so hot you couldn't touch the screen for long.

well do you have a custom rom on it does it have fast charge is it on? kernel? oc? voltage tweak?
clean rom 3.0, no overclock of any kind, no fastcharge

We're going to need more info then that I am afraid to figure out what happened (if we can at all )
You flashed Clean Rom... did you
Use a custom kernel?
Flash the new firmware for the new update?
Flash the new radio for the update?
Any other things you flashed with the rom?
Any apps that have root permission?
I don't think it could be a bad charger .... key words don't think...
If it's not software related and it happens again it could be a bad cell in the battery perhaps and it's still trying to charge to capacity .... the more info you give us the more we can try and trouble shoot it.
Thank You for messaging XDA Anonamooose Tech support .....LOL
Anyone else have some insight?
Actually this happened before on my gnex . Thought the battery was bad but it can't be this battery also. What's weird was it charged it to 15% instead of 100% its like all the power after 15% was just heating it up instead of charging? Or could the battery be bad because I. Plugged it in again and it charged 33% in like 55minutes a 4400mah anker battery

Taking a hot expanded object and exposing it to quick contraction is how you pop solders and crack circuit boards.Exposing to sudden heat is not as bad as sudden cold. Plastic shrinks at a different rate then metal, and so on.
You got lucky.
I have the chinese variant of the standard battery and it's not nearly as good.

Battery drain when using supplied genuine keyboard dock

I thought the battery would last longer as the dock had extra battery, but it drains quicker than if I use the tablet just on its own
Any body figure how to make battery last longer with the tablet connected to the dock

The same happend to me. My tab seems to be dead, no backlight, no sound when the charger is plugged, no reaction to any push button code like ON + VOL- at the same time. But I've detected already several weeks ago that the background light was a litte bit flickering. This seems to be an indication that there's something with the hardware or battery.
I belive, but I'm not sure, that the internal battery connection is loose. This is a logical reason due to the behavior of all circumstances that happend so far. I saw this at this video "Android tablet not switching on not charging" from alwaysafix (may not post a link) on youtube and read something about that issue somewhere on the web. So this would be a possible reason.
Please let me/us know if this is a solution to your issue. I've few month warranty left so I will at first find out if there's really warranty left when I rooted the tab. Perhaps theres a chance to set it back to factory default. The USB connetion seems to be working.
