just curious if theres a finished cm9 or cm10 mod for the htc one s or if they are all still working out the bugs right now. i tried looking some up but only found a couple that seem to still be a work in progress
Well since the ones you saw that there were still bugs in some..you are safe to assume that there's no completely working ROM. There are only little kinks, not major bugs like data not working or something.

ok cool good to know. well seeing how theres a couple of them still in development would there be one you would suggest over the other?
CM10 is producing official nightlies. I have been using it as my daily driver since the first day they started nightlies, and have very few (if any) issues. The occasional hiccup here and there, but nothing that stops me from using it as a daily driver. And I am on my phone constantly, mainly for work.
Here's the link to the download for official CM10: http://get.cm/?device=ville
Remember, because it's nightlies there is an updated version everyday. Sometimes big changes, more often than not little stuff.
Here's the changelog: http://changelog.bbqdroid.org/#ville/cm10/next
When downloading, be sure to use the NIGHTLIES and not EXPERIMENTAL (if you are looking for stability).
I also recommend using Fusion Kernel with this rom. Works wonders.

I agree with the above post. There is no reason not to use CM10 on the One S. I rocked it for a long time and it really is a pleasure to use. My only problem with CM10 is the camera doesn't perform as well as the stock camera. I tend to take a lot of pics and thus have gone back to a Sense-based ROM and now am just waiting for the moment HTC releases their Jelly Bean Sense update.

lol it took me a while but i finally got data working.
this is 4.3.1. i know its a little late with 4.4 starting to come out for our device, but i'm just getting some practice and knowledge in.
heres a download for you ladies and gents
http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23212708291681464
also after you flash rom and gapps, select power off in twrp instead of just a reboot. otherwise itll bootloop. other than that though it seems to be running fast and solid so far! give it a shot, see what ya think.

I've been on this rom all day and it's been solid for me so far, no reboots or anything.
unfortunately, this upgrade to 4.4 wont work like that. pretty much every rom out there seems to be coming from AOSP scratch and rebuilding. completely new code.
however vanir has their 4.4 repos up and ready to go. also cm updated their repos to cm-11.0 today. I got a successful build of vanir 4.4 but gapps is force crashing on startup, so im trying to get that fixed before i upload it.
also 4.4 vanir is pretty close to stock right now, but the vanir team works extremely hard and updates every day so we'll get our customizations in due time.
on a side note... are you likin this build of vanir 4.3.1?

Thanks keep it up
After a couple of try on the installation i manage to make this work (was getting bootloop even after the process but after third time installing it worked, i dont know why)
First thing, this ROM is Crazy fast! Been a while since i got to use something gonig this fast. I like the customization it's packed with too. As i just flashed this i can't really comment on battery life or even reboot but i'll stay you tune on this.
Question. Are custom kernel like Jrior or Azn one working on this? Didn't try it right now but i'll probably do so when i arrive home. And is Azn KingBeatz gonna work on this too? Anyway, i'll try when i arrive home and give feedback if nobody tried this.
Another question more concerning the rom customization. Is their a ways to change the longpress back button setting? I like putting Kill App their but i dont see how i can do that on this rom. And is there a reason why Vanir Inverted is in theme? I know a bunch of rom have a tile that can be switch on/off for Dark UI but is their something different havingit in the Theme section?
Anyway, congrats on that build, feels awesome in hand!
did you power off instead of reboot after you flashed your gapps package? that seems to be the best work around for the kernel bootloop kink.
I haven't personally tried either of those custom kernels on this ROM, but I do think they'd be worth a shot to try. don't know if kingbeatz will work either.
hardware back to kill is in developer options. as far as the dark theme goes, its just how the vanir team decided to include it in their project. it works just like the dark option from other ROMs.
and thanks man

Ya i did the power off thing, didn't work first time, second i tried reboot and didn't work either and lastly i retried with power off and it did work.
Now, I flashed Jrior Kernel + KingBeatz, went into bootloop "sight". I powered it off because i was going for supper and now it won't open back... Might have drained battery and now it's stuck. I'll charge it for a while try reinstalling all without Kingbeatz / Kernel independantly and see what comes out.
Thanks for the fast answer!

Try this rom+ torched + V4A Viper 4 Android audio. Make sure its 4.x apk. Better then what your using. u have to enable advnced user mode on V4A though easy.
I was using Viper4A before, but KingBeatz gave me better result "on 4.3.1" essentially because it was release before for 4.1.2 and after that nada. Viper4A was the one i used after that. Gotta try another time.
But how did you manage to flash Torch? Each time i tried it bootloop
And i had a question, if i want to reboot my phone normaly, do i have to go through the same pattern as Power off and then turn it back on or this was only for the rom installation?

I had a problem installing an app (Amazon) from the app store so I changed the DPI from the default of 250 to 240. After going to step 2, I got boot loops. I cleared the cache and was able to get back in the rom.
I was just wondering whether there are any 4.4 roms available? The only one I found was CM but I feel like there must be more. I might be just going blind, however I could not see any other roms. Any links or suggestions are appreciated. Thank you.

nope those 3 build threads are it
I suggest using kitkang http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2525831
as its the latest rom with Nightlys going on every night
and seems to be the only one making progress so far (FCC,SD,Overall UI smoothness,Video GPU performance)
SSPENCER10 is working very well for me. Everything he is putting out is stable and appears to be having fewer issues than KitKang. It is even working just as well with ART as it was with Dalvik. The 11-23 build also has the new CM11 boot animation.

You realize they are all based on exactly the same code right?
And you realize that if one makes 'progress' they all make 'progress' because they use the same code right?
[ROM][4.3.1][Official][OSE Rom][d2vzw]
I'm using this one and so far so good.
It has nightlies that have 4.4
I'd recommend KitKang. It's been extremely stable and has really good battery life. ART works very well.

Summary: I don't think KitKang is recognizing my SIM card, and is causing "Phone" to crash every second or two.
Hey guys, I tried flashing the latest KitKang ROM last night, but ran into a big issue. I wiped system, cache, dalvik cache, etc. I then reflashed the MF1 firmware (it was already flashed, but for some reason I always feel better re-flashing it every time.) Then I flashed the latest KitKang D2VZW nightly linked above, and flashed the GApps mentioned in that thread too. However, upon rebooting, every second or so it would say "phone has forced closed" (or something along those lines. Also, there was no signal. I got through the setup process after a VERY long time of pressing "okay" to that error and setting up my CM and Google accounts with one key in between each error. I thought I would be able to go into Mobile Networks and change the settings, which fixed certain early issues with CM10.1 or 10.2, but to no avail. I then tried reflashing (after wiping clean) CM10.2 again to get certain files for the phone to work, then flashing CM11 over that, and it seemed to work up until it freezes after getting to the home screen. Any thoughts on what the issue may be and/or how to fix it?
Thanks!

Wrong. With CMUpdater, if you're running an unofficial build, the nightlies (when they appear) will show up. Even if they don't, you most definitely will be able to manually flash the nightlies without wiping.
The one exception will be if you want to switch to the new "corporate" release streams from Cyngn if those ever get turned on for the device. Those will require a wipe - but official nightlies won't.

I am fully aware for that, but I thought he meant Motorola's official stock updates, not CM's official nightlies.
But still, it is risky to flash official nightly updates on an unofficial build.
Anyway, I might be wrong, I came from a device which did not have a official CM build.

There could be risks if you flash an unofficial build from someone who is not at all working on merging a device into CM - they often cherry pick all sort of stuff that causes incompatibilities with upstream to the point where the product really shouldn't be called CM. (I've seen lots of "CM" kangs that had all sorts of extra crap added beyond just doing what is required for device bringup...)
dhacker, however, is an official CM maintainer for many devices, so his builds are the ones that are "on track" for official inclusion.
OK, and I've a few questions again :
If I flash updates directly from CM updater, is it like official updates from Motorola ? I won't lose all my data ?
Because I don't want to lose everything every time a new release come out
U dont lose data, only if u do a factory reset, i do a cache and dalvick wipe, never had any problems doing that

If people had to wipe every time they flashed an updated, nightlies wouldn't be as popular as they are now.
In general:
1) If you're coming from another project (CM to Omni or vice versa, or any of those to/from stock) you'll need to wipe. Titanium Backup and/or even Androids 'adb backup' can save a lot of time here
2) If you're coming from a previous version of the same project (An unofficial CM build to official nightlies, and subsequent nightlies) you should only have to wipe if someone screwed up
2b) You can usually even do version upgrades this way - e.g. CM10.2 to CM11, although of course this device never saw 10.2 except possibly some super-pre-alpha builds
One exception you may see down the line - with the formation of Cyanogen Inc (aka Cyngn), there are now two release streams. The Community stream (classic nightlies and such) and the "Pro" or "Cyngn" or whatever it's called now release stream. The most obvious example of this right now is CM10.2 on the Oppo N1 - you can't transition between this and community builds without wiping to my knowledge. It's not a big issue now but might be something you need to watch out for in the future.

Ok thanks for the informations ! After one hour of intense fighting with my computer, I finally unlocked bootloader, rooted, and flashed cyanogenmod I prefer this rom to the stock one, I find it more smooth, and more costumization
i think its ok for daily use. At least i use it everyday.
I posted this question in a couple other places, but no reply.
I have the GPE version of the Moto G, and I want to run the CM11 builds on it.
Will the fact that the GPE version has the ext4 fs on it prevent me from getting these to work?
I know there are recoveries available specifically for the GPE, but will getting the CM11 builds to work be just a matter of changing a few entries in fstab?
And finally, do either of the recoveries allow you ro format /data from either f2fs to ext4 or the other way around?
Thanks/
I've replaced stock Rom (4.4.2 US Global Version) for unofficial CM11 (2014-02-16's release) and for now CM works more stable than stock.
I had few reboots or issue with .flac, in CM's everything is OK, for now of course. Very good stuff even that is only nightly's release.
Hi guys,
I tried to flash the Franco kernel with the CM11 snapshot M9, for some reason i get pixel distortion top right. Where the cell bars show, sometimes over the complete right side of the screen.
Thereafter i re-flashed the rom directly following with the franco kernel, same result though.
Any ideas?
Thanks!
Its known issue. Graphics overlay on screen touch.
Workaround: Goto 'Developer Options' and disable Hardware Overlays.
U have to do this every time u reboot the phone.
Update your ROM, you're using a outdated ROM thats lacking the commits. Easier to update your ROM than to do a workaround on every reboot.

You're saying there is an update for stable version?
Or do you mean flashing the latest nightly?
Thanks for the answers guys!

Latest nightly.
What samflorin said, M10 is out for some phones. OnePlus One is still being worked on so they didn't push M10 yet. When it does, it should be very close to the OTA.
M9 was a very old build that lacked the commits causing conflict on the kernel side of things. Once you update, all should be good
