[Q] Android 4.4.4 Volume control bug - Moto G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello, I am using Nightlies for Paranoid 4.4 on Motorola Moto G rom, but I think this problem exsist on other roms. The problem is when I try to change volume in music player its verry delayed. Sometimes when I press volume up button once, it goes not by one, but all the way to max volume. Tried different roms, still same problem. So maybe someone had same problem and know how to fix it? thanks

I have the same problem, there is also a delay while pausing the music.

Best to report it in the associated ROM thread.

This is a CM bug, the most part of ROMs is based on CM sources, because of this the Paranoid has this bug

From what I read on google, other phones also have this bug, even with stock roms after update to 4.4.4.

[Q] Was the Camera always-on problem fixed in custom ROM's already?

Google recently found a problem in 4.4.2 KitKat that whenever a app accessed the camera the process behind it will always stay on, no matter if the camera isn't needed anymore or if the app is closed or not. Only a reboot would be the solution.
As the title suggests, has this been fixed in customs ROM's as PURITY already?

I think nop. That's why some dev also ask google to publy the fix in AOSP source code as it seems to affect more than one device and they want to be able to fix their roms
It won't be fixed in custom Roms until 4.4.3 source is released.

[Q] Netflix on L based ROMs

Hey guys,
I tried two cm12 ROMs, namely Validus and UB and in both the ROMs Netflix doesn't work for me. It stays stuck on the start screen with a loading icon and after sometime I get the error as seen in the screenshot.
I don't know if its the problem with Netflix and ART or cm12 ROMs. Does anyone know a solution to this?
Thanks

Same here with Candy5. Netflix is working on my tablet though. It has an AOSP-based Lollipop ROM.
So it might be a CM12 issue
I am running the 5.0.1 soak test in the xt1033.
I don't see any problems here. Probably, only custom roms have this.
Oh since its working on both Stock L and Aosp L ROM the problem must be with cm12
After googling, I tried to reinstall, clear data/cache, reboot phone, change DNS to Google DNS, tried on both WiFi and Network but nothing has worked till now
Can't use L roms just because of this

Have you had experience with SlimROM KitKat for the OnePlus One?

I saw XDA's new video summarizing SlimROM features. So I checked the official site for the SlimROM developer and I see there is a Bacon version for our phone.
I want to stay with KitKat for a while until I decide whether I can live without the Xposed framework.
I need to solve the random reboots and UI freezing problems I have been having with stock 11s.
So my questions go out to everyone who's tried flashing SlimROM 4.4.4:
If you previously experienced random reboots: does this ROM eliminate the problem?
Is this ROM stable and does it perform smoothly?
Are there significant bugs?
Are you continuing to run SlimROM 4.4.4 or have you abandoned it?
If you are still running it, what would you say to other OnePlus One owners about the advantages and drawbacks of this ROM?

Are there significant bugs?Slim is based on CM so the CM bugs are present of course

The answer to all your questions is this: read the comments in the ROM thread and/or test it for yourself.

One reason why I posted this thread is that I did not find any other threads on the vanilla SlimKat ROM. I did see a topic on a variant.
But lacking any further feedback, I followed the installation instructions at the official website which entail doing a clean wipe and then flashing ROM + gapps. Pretty straightforward. The result is very encouraging so far. The phone subjectively seemed to be responding more smoothly immediately after the flash. I've already reinstalled Xposed framework and related modules. And restored apps+data using Titanium Backup. It's a little less than 24 hours but I have not had a single random reboot and not a hint of UI freezing.
I'm very encouraged. :good:
I'd love to know what is causing the random reboots. A poor image install at the factory? A defect in the CyanogenMod variant that OPO is using? Was it just the clean wipe that solved the problem? (And by extension would reinstalling 11s have been successful after the wipe?) I'll probably never know. But I am reasonably happy with SlimROM anyhow. So I'm inclined to keep it.

Is there a custom ROM without the sound distortion bug?

I want to run a custom ROM, but I keep running into bugs that are a no go for me. One in particular being the sound distortion bug that seems to be in every ROM I've tried. Anyone know if there are any without such problems?
I have the Verizon HTC One M8 currently running stock rooted with an unlocked bootloader.
Seems the sound distortion bug only effects cm based Roms. Try the stock Roms on here.
From what I understand nothing but a sense ROM will not have the bug based on HTC not releasing something and the CM teams having to reverse engineer. In thinking it's the kernel, but don't quote me on that.

Pressy, Klick!, Xiaomi Mikey button & CM12 ?

Hi all,
first of all, my problem is related to Moto G 4G (peregrine model), i don't know if (but it is probably) this occur with Falcon.
I bought a clone of pressy button (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2742665) and i'm pretty happy with it on stock rom, i can answer call with one click and launch torch with a long press on it.
The strange thing is that it doesn't work on any custom rom i tried, i tried with all available apps, but none handles the clicks as it should, so i assume there's something to do with CM 12, maybe it is missing some drivers that are present in stock rom ?
I should downgrade to CM11 to see if it's working or not... i'll tell you later.
Does anybody use such a thing and got it working on a custom rom ?
Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you and have a great day.
