Hello friends, today I am here to provide you a more stable and faster version of custom ROM which is based on stock ROM
Please do note that I have removed the Bloatwares already INCLUDING music and video player. So be ready with your apps in your currrent ROM backed up already...
However this ROM does have Google Play Store and Google Play Services installed by default so that you can install all your apps you want and for consistency!
Do the following before installing this ROM:
If your phone already has a ROM installed by default, then it should have all apps and its updates. So back up all that apps to your SD card.
Now backup all your important data in your phone's internal SD card, contacts etc....
You need to have the custom recovery installed to install this ROM. So install the ClockWorkMod recovery.
Now download the ROM from here
Now proceed the steps below
Copy the .zip files to root of SD card and not into some folder
Now wipe data and factory reset
Go to Advanced=>Wipe Dalvik cache
Press back button and choose install ZIP file
Choose install from SD card and locate that downloaded .zip file
Confirm YES
The ROM installation should begin now
Wait for it to complete
After it completes, Choose reboot system
Wait for the mobile to reboot(First boot takes a while which is completely normal)
You should see the home screen now!
Congratulations! You have installed the ROM successfully

I just did an Odin 1 click to stock then proceeded to install rom manager after rooting and i cannot flash CWM recovery. every time i do it says there was an error downloading the recovery. is this a problem with just me or is it community wide? This is the same process I use every time to flash roms, and i can't think of anything i've done wrong this time around.
Can anyone confirm this? Im stuck on the stock captivate rom I really wanted to flash the gingerbread themed rom thismorning :/
Also i flashed back to stock a second time and re-did the root, but still i'm getting the same error in rm manager that there was an error downloading the recovery....
just copy this update.zip to your internal sd, it'll apply clockwork recovery, bypassing the Rom Manager install. No need to rename or anything
1)copy update.zip to internal sd
2)reboot into recovery
3)select reinstall packages (or whatever it is...can't remember exactly, but you should know what I'm talkin about)
4)it'll reboot, then you'll have Clockwork Recovery, and can do whatever
hope this helps ya.
I've found it significantly time saving if, after going back to stock in preparation for a new flash, you just copy this update.zip and the rom file to your internal sd, then reinstall packages to get clockwork off this update.zip, then immediately from there, you can flash the new rom. Totally saves time of having to root the 2.1 install, download rom manager, flash the recovery, reboot, copy rom to sd, then install...cuts flash time in half, it seems
Thank you so much! this worked for me

For anyone and everyone seeing this post, this method is considered the best and the most non-intrusive way. And yet, it gives complete functionality in recovery mode.
glad I could help. happy flashing!
Hi guys, first post from me. I wish i could post this in the proper thread, but since i am new i am not allowed, so excuse me for the inconvenience.
I want to use custom roms to enhance my phone, i've been reading up in this forum and some video's on youtube. I've already rooted my phone before, so that part is out of the way.
Now here is my phone setup:
- Samsung Galaxy S Plus
fw= 2.3.5
baseband= I9001BOKP1
kernel= [email protected]#1
build= GINGERBREAD.BOK4
carrier= T-Mobile
- External SD Card, 486 MB
I just used the SD Card from my old Samsung phone (G-600)
The thing is, i have used Apps2SD to set apps to my SD card (the external one)
1.A: So if i am going to backup will that also be stored back to my SD after i format it?
1.B: Or is external SD card formatting not required for a fresh clean install?
The ROM i want to use is Cranium RC9
As i understand this ROM comes with a kernel as well, so..
2: should i do anything kernel related? (since it's my first time to install a ROM and all)
And finally..
3: What is the correct method for a 1st time/clean ROM installation?
If i look at the 1st post of the Cranium ROM thread, then i see install methods if you already have RC8. And the other method is for installing RC4. Please don't tell me i have to go through all the RC's to get to RC9 o_0
Thanks for at least reading this and hopefully some one can help me further on this
1.A When you backup, choose internal SD since backup has about 1GB of size if you have lots of apps. Go to feamod recovery 1.4, backup and restore then backup to internal sd card. When you finish ROM flashing restore your apps only in advanced restore.
1.B I don't think you have to format external sd, anyway you can back it up too.
2. I don't think so. The rom comes with a kernel..
3. For fresh ROM installation, Format system, data, and cache. You can also wipe dalvik cache. Then flash using ODIN or CWM, depending on the file. Reboot system and you can restore data only after going to cwm again.
You can also read fabsau's starter guide in our forum(i9001)..
In my opinion, try broodROM, comes with skyhigh kernel, ICS theme, beats audio, smoother scrolling and more..

Thanks this was helpful to me
My problem is that i installed boftain ns v1 and now i want to delete and install the original one. Whenever i rebot to recovery my phone gets jammed at the Google sign. Please help. Usually i would connect the phone and odin will recognize it and install the Rom. But this time it want work. Thx
If you can boot into recovery manually (turn off the phone. Hold volume up + power button and select recovery, I assume you have CWM installed)
you can follow these steps:
Select storage -> mount SD
than copy the official android 4.0.3 to your SD (you can find the official rom easily here on XDA)
select unmount SD
Than go to install zip from sd card, chose the zip, chose the stock rom you've downloaded and hit yes. This first boot should be a little bit longer than usual.
You should now be in stock 4.0.3, and should be able to update to 4.0.4 going to the settings of your phone.
If you cant even get to recovery, there is a linux tool to fix a bricked nexus s. find it in the development section I guess
Hello,
So I was successful in installing CM 10.2 onto my Nook HD plus (put it on sd card, installed it onto internal storage).
So obviously I was able to flash CM 10.2 fine, but for some strange reason, GAPPS 4.3 will not install (CWM says it was successful, but booting it back up, don't see any Google Apps )
The Nook itself does not have a custom recovery installed. The SD card I used to install CM 10.2 I guess is considered recovery (both the sd card and internal storage had GAPPS, neither worked).
PLEASE HELP! I'm really panicking right now, PLEASE HELP ME ASAP! Without GAPPS, this whole procedure was a waste of my time, so if someone can please help me figure this out, it would be much appreciated! Thanks in advance.
can someone please help me! I am really worried about my device right now!
Some time back the same happened ob my phone google apps in recovery says installed but when i boot the mobile I was unable to fing any apps then what i did was copy the gapps zip file on to your computer extract the zip file and extract all the apk files with google written in thenlm and gmail and google play dont install maps or other apk which are avaliable on market gmail apk is required to login into the market then put all thoses apk files in one folder and copy it to your sd card . Hey guys. This is my first time installing anything on my phone so I'm going to sound very unexperienced but heres what ive done.
*Verizon Galaxy S3 i535. 4.1.2
*factory reset the phone to beign with (nothing important on it)
*got successful root
*downloaded cyanogenmod from cm website
*used goomanager for reboot
*created backup of internal storage, boot, and data
*wiped dalvik cache, system, data,cache
*went to install and tried to find cm files but were nowhere to be found.
So now I'm currently restoring to backup so i can reinstall the cm and gapps but I'm not sure if I am installing them correctly. Could somebody please inform me of the right way to get the files from my computer to my s3. Thanks so much.
Just a personal preference, but I move all my flashables to my SD card, in a unique folder, so they're easier to locate. Everything you've done sounds right... just save CM to your phone, then use a file manager to move the zip to your SD card. You should find the file easier on the SD card.
