Posting a link to the app would have been helpful.

I don't see why use this method on the Tablet Z... It's pretty bright for me, and the view angles are perfect, even at almost 180ยบ

Exactly. The TZ doesn't have bad viewing angles

WISH LIST for NEW ANDROID behaviours

This is a Wish List for any ideas for future development.
Posting a wish here means, the wish author/dreamer does agree, that it is a gift to the dev. community with no future rights of any kind for that dreamer.
My initial wish:
camera app for night vision - giving clear pics/movies in black darknes
- me as a noob - dreamer think, that the app could be written based on standard cam app with light filters altered
- now IR is filtered away to give a clear picture within standard light conditions
- what if somebody will filter away a visible range of light with IR filtering removed (filters will remove visible light instead of IR)
- next feature for the app could be automat swich between standard and Infra Red light spectra being active based on light intensity (e.g. below 10 lux it will go to night vision mode)
In result, there will be a camera app alloving the movie taking on suny beach and continue into dark cave without movie interruption having always bright picture

The IR filtering is almost certainly done in hardware. Its called a low pass filter and would have to be physically removed to allow ir night vision.
However the last point of high dynamic range video could be done in software, but not with infrared
From something awesome
Hi , isn't it possible to write a code which can switch OFF/and ON that part of hardware?

but for that your hardware must support it...

An image editing program for my needs...

There are several image editing programs - and some free good ones - but need an app that can do some specific tasks on the Asus Transformer TF
Besides basic tweaks (crop, sharpening, brightness), need the ability to add arrows and arrowheads (in different colors) pointing to specific areas, and adding text to the corresponding colors.
Being able to organize several photos in frames (such as the program PicFrame) would be a bonus.
Know any paid programs that can do this? Help greatly appreciated!
Skitch from Evernote will do it - free and basic. I use snapseed for editing and skitch for placing annotations like arrows/markers
Before I got photoshop touch (which is excellent, btw), I used Picsart. I recommend checking it out, it's free.
I use pixlr express. Super easy to use and highly affective. Plus you can save as any file size.

Are you editing high resolution photos from a camera like a dslr? I tested it on a shot from the tablet camera and the actual size of the photo (in Mb) was actually almost doubled. And I didn't notice any decrease in quality. It does ask you what size to save it as, right?

Art/Drawing apps - optimal settings thread

In order to get the best experience from whichever app you are using, it is necessary to adjust a myriad of settings to cater to your preferred style.
So to help new users (or provide insight to those already familiar with the app), please feel free to share the settings that work for you.
With natural media, my preferred medium is a 0.3mm pacer. This way I can take a sketch all the way to a finished work with a high level of detail. All with just one tool.
So first and foremost I look for the ability to replicate this medium (as close as possible) in whichever art app I am using.
Until yesterday, the app that came closest from my experience was 'Sketchbook Pro for Galaxy'.
That all changed when I installed the new 'LayerPaint HD'
So I'm going to begin by sharing my settings for LayerPaint HD
*Please note that for an optimal sketching experience in all the apps I've tried, it is necessary to disable 'settings/system/s pen/Air View'
Otherwise that little blue donut will obscure a small area around the tip of your pen and will compromise your accuracy.
*For some apps, like this one and Sketchbook, I find that disabling screen rotation makes the ease of use much better as there is no annoying break to your work flow.
LayerPaint HD
My layout:
Settings (All options listed are active):
*Use of Pen Pressure
*Disable Single Touch
*Use of Multithreading
*Brush Interpolate
*Show Brush Size Cursor
*Volume Key Undo-Redo
*Position Toolbar Always on Right or Left
*UI Scale - 75%
*Show Pixel Grid
*Show Brush Opaque Bar
Now for the Brush Settings:
Pen:
Width - 4px
Min Width - 0%
Opaque - 100%
*Size by Pressure
Pencil:
Width - 3px
Min Width - 0%
Opaque - 100%
*Size by Pressure
*Opaque by Pressure
Eraser (Hard):
Width - 16px
Min Width - 0%
Opaque - 15%
*Size by Pressure
*Opaque by Pressure
*Soft Edge
Eraser (Soft):
Width - 15px
Min Width - 0%
Opaque - 3%
*Size by Pressure
*Opaque by Pressure
*Soft Edge
I haven't really played with the other brushes as they aren't that useful for my style of sketching.
Why I prefer LayerPaint HD over Sketchbook, is that with these settings I can achieve a very light thin line with my pencil and with a bit more pressure achieve a nice solid line. Very much like I would with a 0.3mm pacer. The sensitivity and range of opacity is greater than what I can achieve in Sketchbook Pro, so shading is a lot easier and my lines are more precise and detailed.
Nevertheless, my next post will detail my custom settings for 'Sketchbook Pro for Galaxy'.
Wow. I might need to pick up LayerPaint HD. I'll wait for your post on Sketchbook for Galaxy first, though.
While not app specific, I've been running my drawing apps through IOBIT Advance Mobile Care's Gaming Booster. It forces background apps to close and prevents them from opening up again so in theory is freeing up as much processor and RAM resource for the app in question.
I couldn't say if it makes a significant improvement or not as its become habbit to open them this way. I cant remember what it was like running them directly.
Interesting. I'll check out that app... haven't noticed any lag when sketching... so ill resist using it until I experience a slow down, then I'll test to see if the app helps at all.
Cannot find game booster anywhere if i search iobit on playstore all i get is 1 app AMC Security Thanks for settings ,btw what happened to settings fo r sketchbook?

Sorry, I got caught up in real life... haven't sketched in weeks. I'm desperately making up stock for the mid year festivals. I literally don't have a moment to spare. I may have some time to make that post about Sketchbook in 2 - 3 weeks time.
Sorry everyone.

After seeing a few questions here on this thread... I downloaded this app, and am impressed with such ease of use. Your settings are a bit better than defaults. Though I am a novice sketcher... more of a doodler. This app makes the stylus seem more fluid than I expected, and being pretty bad with pens and pencils, being a lefty. I was able to do some nice starters on hair patterns, that always drove me up the wall.
Thanks for not only giving out some good settings, but introducing an app that is not only good but fun to use.

Gallery viewer with pre-calibrated color & gamma corrections

The Galaxy S4 has a good screen but it's a little too over-saturated giving unnatural skin tones. Switching to "Movie" mode results in rather muted colors. For accurate color reproduction there's a new app "Calibrated photo Viewer" on Google Play with pre-calibrated color and gamma corrections to show photos in their natural colors.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.auralisoft.jpegviewer
Adobe RGB and sRGB color spaces are supported so both standard and professional photos can be viewed seamlessly, without the need to switch 'screen modes'.
The app works just like a normal photo viewer. No rooting is required.

Added color balance controls
I have added controls for custom fine tuning of color balance, to allow for variations between different S4 devices.

I'll check it out, thanks! I'd love a way to set the rgb for the whole phone, not iust one app, as my whites are quite greenish in comparison to many other screens-is this possible without kernel modifications?
Unfortunately I don't think that is possible without a mod kernel.
Check out the new version with Auto Color Balance.
Use a camera on an external android device as a color measuring device.
No more fiddling with color controls.
The two devices communicate via Bluetooth.

I don't understand, does this actually change the RGB? I thought that was only possible with a custom kernel??

Does anyone know the RGB values for cm13's night mode?
Awesome about to try
Some roms cannot xhange rgb. This apps helps but it trial for the feature. Sad
I know its would be pretty easily acheived through tasker with the current version, but an update to change colour profiles (particularly the daylight oversaturated one) based on ambient light level would be most appreciated.
Great app otherwise! Especially useful for kernels and devices that don't support kcal.
Any change of values results in framerate drop across ui. I'm using Xperia ZL on stock 5.1.1. The stutters in ui are constant until switch it back to normal and reduces the experience greatly. If there was a way to increase saturation without having to deal with those frame drops it would be awesome.
If you can fix it with an update please do it.
The stutters I experience are similar to those when I enable simulate colo space in developer options.
this app is awesome to increase saturation and get more vivid colors
