[Q] What could go wrong? (Custom ROMs) - General Questions and Answers

My device has no ROMs out there, it is the GT-S7562L, there's ROMs for the GT-S7562 (even some people here in XDA are developing CM11 for this phone, but not mine ) but not mine for some reason, their only difference is the network frequencies. What could go wrong if i flashed a ROM for the S7562? Could my phone get bricked? Would something go wring with the network, and if so, does it have a solution? If something DOES go wrong, is it simply solved by restoring a previous backup? Thanks a lot!

Okk .
First of all try not to flash other models rom on your device.
If you are lucky it will only softbrick, bootloop or such.
If by chance you are unlucky dont blame xda.
Hardbrick might cause you a great problem.
Sometime some problems cannot be solved even after restoration of your old files.
Further I wont stop you, just want you not to get trouble.
*********----------**********
Instead just try to root your phone.
Install xposed framework on your stock rom & modify it as per your convince using different combinations of xposed modules.
Thankyou,
Zeuscluts
Hit thanks if I helped you.

The worst that could happen is bootloop, again I am not sure, but I have flashed a rom for the y210-0151 when my model is the y210-0100. Try porting it to ur device

How do you port a ROM (yes, I know little to nothing about technical stuff in phones). Also, what was the difference between the y210-0151 and the y210-0100, was it also the network frequencies?

Like there are many tutorials for ut.
All you need to make some precautions while porting.
As for the network frequencies you saying try not to sway modems of the host you porting rom to your device also be precauted with kernel it bootloop, sometime hard brick also.

[Q] Jash

Hey,
I recently rooted my note 2 via some YouTube link.. Now for some reason I am still getting over the air updates and my recovery mode always goes into the Samsung recovery (only options are wipe data and some others.. The screen is black with a green android mascot )
However all the root apps are working.. So what do I do£
Do I install the update which has come over the airborne not?
Thanks for the help..
You should send us a link to the youtube link and you should get a rom off XDA, it works better and you get more support.
Hope it helps
What next

Have you even gone to the thread for your device and read there? That should be the first thing you do before you do anything on your phone. Following some youtube video then coming here for help is not very considerate. Also you provided no information.
Luckily for you. You have root access but you haven't installed a custom recovery yet. You need to do that next. Then install the rom of your choice. Look in the development section for your device and read the stickies. Good luck.

unfortunately this happened and now it has come notice that xda is the overlord of sorts in android .. at the time i didnt kow else i would have followed the xda guide..
hence i ask NOW WHAT.

my recovery goes into stock recovery and cwm or twer recovery doesnt work properly .. so hence my question was thus framed..

Have you tried this one?

Works for .31 version. Run it while the phone is booting.
If it doesn't work, then you can jump off a building.

.33?? In what country u are?? I'm in italy, but no .33 released D:
Yes, I know it is .33. It has been launched in some countries, few... It's not known if it's going to be released on all.
But even though that tool works on .31 firmware, it MAY work on .33. The only way to know that is by trying, and you loose nothing by trying that...
Turn phone off, run root aplication, turn phone on, and when sony logo appears connect phone to PC. See if it roots.

I don't understand what's your problem... Doomlord is not rushing here to help you. You're not even having the trouble to answer here if you've tried his rooting tool or not, or the errors you've encountered, anything.
If you really wan't some help, try to give some feedback of what you have done and problems you've encountered, other than just keep shouting for help like an infant.

This can only make me laugh... I've given you the ONLY tool that can root JB firmwares on Xperia J. I've asked you to simply tell where it didn't work, the error it gave, and even that you can't do. All you can say is "doesn't work". Which windows do you have? Did it install the drivers correctly? Did you install Pc Companion? What happens when you run the tool? Does it recognize the phone? And so on...
You've only registered on this site this month, the first post you made is saying you'll kill yourself if you can't root this phone. That already says a lot... I don't even believe that you know what root means. All your friends have it, you want it too, but don't know what's it for.
Good luck for your quest.
P.S. If you jump off a 1st or 2nd floor, it won't also work (the killing thing)...

Look here kiddy, a simple example: do you think that Microsoft when launched windows XP, it already said that software compatible with it would be compatible with Vista and 7, even before they existed??? Try to use a little of that stump you have over your shoulders once and a while.
Only you and 2 or 3 more users in this forum have reported to receive a .33 update. That hasn't been released world wide, only in 1 or 2 countrys. Do you think that's relevant to have been thorouhly tested with Doomlord's tool? It isn't.
So, the only good thing you can do is ask for help AND know how to receive it!! I asked you several questions about what you have done and errors you have encountered, your only answer is a 5 year-old kid answer: it doesn't work. You dind't provide and error, a print-screen, nothing.
I strongly believe that Doomlord's tool work. And if it still doesn't, you could use is thread to provide the info he requests and in some time he would release a version compatible with .33. firmware.
All and all, the only one loosing here is you, only because you don't have a clue on what you are doing and refuse to get help.

I just did a google search and found a lot of results for .33 firmware. It is a minor update (probably for carriers) in various countries. It is not a major update for the phone.
.33 as been released, but only in few countries, dont know why... When .31 came out in a couple of days it was available worldwide.

[Q] Support for Galaxy Young S6313T

As some of you might be aware of, in Brazil Samsung sells the model GT-S6313T under the acronym of Galaxy Young TV Duos, with dual chip support and Digital TV reception functionalities. I happen to have one of those phones and was wondering whether it could be possible to use any custom ROM in it, such as the one for S6310 for instance. Have you ever had any experience in that?
Thanks a lot, Lucas.

Hello Lucas!
You can install any Young Duos (S6312) ROM, TV patch, and it will work like a charm
I don't have experience with S6310 ROMs. Anyway, I imagine that it will work, but may have some (few) bugs
I hope that you are right! I got recently the brazilian version of the Samsung Young Duos called " S6293T " as a gift. But it is really slow and I would like to root and custom rom it. Do you or anyone else have a suggestion which programms from which phone models i could use safely? Because apparently the "S6293T " model does not exist here
Thanks in advance guys!

Hi @MiskoMKT
Your model is called Samsung Galaxy Young Plus TV. I don't know if a S6312 ROM will work in your device. If you really really know what you're doing, you can make a test, and revert things back if anything goes wrong. But if you have doubts, or don't have experience with installing custom ROMs, I highly recommend you to don't install S6312 ROM in your S6293T, as you can lose your device.

That is my problem, finding a custom ROM which is suitable for my type of phone. It seems barely impossible after LONG research and feel that this phone has some extra power inside, where just the right kernel+custom rom input is missing..
HELP Guys
I could maybe look at creating a recovery for you if I have time left but I can't do more, as I require the phone to do more work with it..
