Hi, I couldn't find a thread that addresses this and looked like crazy. I have a stock rooted Samsung Relay 4G running 4.1.2, and I thought I backed up before installing a custom kernel, but I guess not.
After installing the custom kernel, I can no longer use the "mobile hotspot" function that I use frequently with my tablet (mobile hotspot app crashes. Also tried using PdaNet+ which also crashes).
Long story short, is there any update.zip file available for this standard rooted build I can download that will reinstall either:
(a) the stock kernel or
(b) custom kernel that does not break mobile hotspot or other important features.
THANKS A LOT.
Its around...gotta look for the boot.img file...what custom kernel because my blackbird is not meant for stock tw based Roms if that is what you flashed

I'm rooted and running CM7.1 RC1 but I think I may want to go back to stock however I want to have wifi hotspot unlocked. How do I do this on stock? And where do I find a stock ROM zip file to flash to bring me back to stock and keep root? The one link I found for a stock ROM the link was broken.
If you use ROM Manager you can find a stock rooted ROM from Peter Alfonso
Under his listings you will also find the tethering fix
This is of course for the Nexus S 4G for Sprint, since you have the Sprint logo under you avatar
I have a Samsung Infuse 4G on T-Mobile unlimited prepaid plan. I rooted the phone back when I had AT&T so I could test it on my girlfriend's T-Mobile plan just to make sure it worked.
Since then I've installed 2 custom ROMs - Darky's 10.4 and ZEUS Build 6. When on Darky's, I could get wi-fi calling using asianbobo's MOD, but ran into a lot of issues. Mainly I lost Bluetooth and wi-fi became spotty, plus Darky's sucked my battery dry in less than a day with minimal usage.
So after reading several forums and developing a plan of action, I used Odin 1.7 to go back to stock, re-rooted with SuperOneClick, then used Odin 1.7 again to install the Odin Cummunity Kernel so I could get beyond the CWM 3e recovery issue I was having (apparently the latest CWM or the latest SuperOneClick cause issues with using the old replacement 3e recovery method for enabling unsigned ROM installation, so I needed one that had the CWM update pre-set).
So where I am now is running ZEUS Build 6 with all the apps I previously had installed. I still have to restore a few things (like importing settings and such for certain apps), but I'm happy thus far with my choice. However, I would like to get Wi-fi calling back. I have the asianbobo MODs still - the Darky one, the ZEUS one, and the AnyRom one. However, before I proceed, I'd like to know if the ZEUS MOD will work with Build 6 (says it's for ZEUS Build 5 but I'm wondering if anyone has tried it on Build 6 or if it's just safer to use the AnyRom and modify the build.prop instead).
Any help with this, or any feedback from anyone who has tried this, would be much appreciated.
For anyone in the US having wi-fi issues with ZEUS, try flashing the CWM-UCKL2 modem found here.
Saved me from wanting to throw my phone.
I used Dsixdas Rom kitchen to create my own custom stock rom for the New Samsung Galaxy Rugby LTE.
Everything went fine, I had to edit the Updater script as, the phone is not (yet) supported by the Rom Kitchen.
However it flashed fine, except i have no Wifi, and i lose Root even though I rooted it in the Kitchen.
I think it has something to do with the Kernel, I just dont know what?
Anyone Help me out??
How can I fix Wifi and mobile data problems without reflashing kernel?
Hi
So I flashed a custom ROM which worked 100%, then I tried to flash a custom kernel. And here something went wrong. I first tried to flash Zeus 4.0, but then every time I boot the device my 3g does not even pick up, so i just restored to my backups and everything worked.
But somewhere along the line I messed up something. As no matter which ROM I load my 3g does not connect at all. I've checked the APN settings, and everything seems correct.
Is there a way to flash back to the factory rom and kernel and then go from there?
The roms I've tried to do is Android Revolution HD 9, Illusion, PACMAN and Omega...
My device is the Galaxy Note 10.1 N8000, for south africa...
Thanks in advance.
Flash stock rom via Odin

You have flashed the so-called "radio" partition.
It contained data connected with networking support.
N8010 (zeus kernel is only for that one...) doesnt seem to have 3g support so you lost it.
But as @up said everything shall back to normality if you'll flash stock samsung rom by odin (search on forum to make sure that the rom version contains radio update... i'm not sure if every has it, just as not every rom had the bootloader update!)
...or look for radio partition dump only - seen one somewhere...
I need to flash a barebones custom rom with tethering (as my home internet is basically this phone and a cradlepoint). because wifi router app does not work.
I am rooted withe TWRP recovery, but the new phone I am using is an S5 on 6.0 and baseband is qd1. Are roms specific to the baseband? It has been a couple years since I have messed with custom roms.

Yeah if your phone is on the sprint network you would want to make sure the rom is compatible for sprint. Good news is alot of S5 roms are all in ones so if the rom supports Kltespr then you shouldn't have an issue.
