Hi I've tried to install a custom Kernel on my HTC Explorer. The kernel is called cranium, i only got this one because i want to be able to overclock the CPU. I Installed CM11 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2760744 When i've tried it, the phone gets stuck on the HTC Boot Screen. Also i've had the Rom working before but it just takes forever to load the Cyanogen Mod boot screen. How do i install the Kernel?
*Sigh*
Bro,cranium kernel is only for GINGER BREAD ROMS!So obviously it won't wont work on cyanogenmod 11 :silly:
Okay thanks, is their a ROM that supports over clicking for CM11

which Trinity kernel? sounds like you flashed a gingerbread kernel on an ics rom.
Trinity Boot Screen Situation
I am having this same problem! I just flashed the new CM9 rom onto my Nexus s 4g Sprint. I followed the instructional video by qbking77 and used the link to the kernel that was on the XDA developers page. Unfortunately, I am stuck at the Trinity boot screen and don't know how to fix this problem! Please help!

reflash cm9.
you flashed a non 3.0.8 kernel, you want to flash a 3.0.8. ics, kernel with cm9. here, try this one, its pretty good http://goo.gl/QAuKi its tei6s(teuv) undervolted kernel.
I rooted my xoom every thing going good but in sys there is no over clock or any thing new from the tilmat kernel do I need to start over and go back to adb and I'm not getting the tilmat boot img at start up but kernel is installed and runing
Install SETCPU and overclock with that.
Also, its tiamat, not tilmat; and kernel, not kernle.

Wrong section!
Please search for the correct kernel. There are many available for all roms.
As i know their are two custom kernels one by Metallice for cm9 and one by Johnsel for cm10 (no for stock roms)

If anyone knows how to build a kernel, I have source on Github for one for CM10 that you're free to use/fork/whatever. Not sure how it compares to what's out there now, but it works for what I need
there are no custom kernel for stock ROM with OC?

Kernal for Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 GT-P3100
NOTE:
DEVICE USED:Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 GT-P3100
CUSTOM ROM RUNNING: CM 12 UNOFFICIAL GT-P3100 ANDROID 5.0.2 LOLLIPOP
Hi guys.......i'm searching for a kernel for my device which is "Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 GT-P3100"
I tried to flash Dhollmen Kernel but my device got into "RECOVERY LOOP"
NOTE: A recovery loop is a loop where your device keeps booting to recovery mode.
I removed the custom recovery(TWRP) from my device by flashing a zip file. The device turned off
when i tried to turn it on it refused to turn on.......it showed the SAMSUNG LOGO and turned of.....
I flashed TWRP recovery mode again this time using odin.........
I had a back up which i took previously using TWRP.....i restored the backup.....
my device booted to system and works now.....kinda lags now than before but its fine.....
So i guess i need another kernel
the reason i need the kernal is because i want to expand my ram using ram expander but my current kernel doesnt support ram expansion........
somebody pls help me with info about any kernal for my device which supports ram expansion
Thanks in advance
Hey guys, I've just flashed my evo 3d with Yoda's rom. It runs pretty good, only that when I installed the rom it asked me if I want to install Yoda's custom kernel. And I did, but here comes the problem! When I had Yoda's kernel installed it wouldn't let me toggle wifi on. I tried reinstalling everything, flashing the rom and kernel separately, but no luck. Soon I figured out that it worked only with the stock kernel.
--------------------------------------- -Is there any other kernel that could run with Yoda's rom? Sorry for the long post. I'm new to flashing kernels and I couldn't find any answer.

I'm flashing roms for a very long time, but I ran into a problem, I can not understand:
I have unlocked my bootloader.
Flashed TWRP
Formatted all the partitions in TWRP.
I have flashed AOKP nightly 02/01/2014 but whenever I trie to flash a custom kernel (tried bricked and Franco) my phone won't boot. It's stuck at the Google logo.
How come?

Make sure all the partitions are the correct size as well as make sure the Kernel supports the ROM. If you read the individual kernel threads and do a search, the information should be available. Its been discussed that many ROMs have switched some code in the nightlies to not being supported by some kernels while others work (such as Chaos kernel working on CM ROM while Franco kernel works stock). Depends on your preference then once you find which are supported and which are not. There is also a thread (I believe in Original Development or the other development thread) that bridges the kernel support of some to work on the newer CM based nightlies based on the CAF/nonCAF system codes that are being worked on.

Because you flashed a kernel that is not compatible with the rom. Re-flash the rom and then find a kernel that is compatible with AOKP.
I was coming from the nexus 4 running AOKP and they have had a poll about caf or non-caf. They decided non-caf, that's why I thought Franco kernel should work (worked on nexus 4).
But I see I have to do some searching.
I thought the decision was already made by the AOKP to use aosp kernel.
