My power button is almost flush with the rest of the edge of the tablet. Is that normal?
Left speaker cover also has some play in it. Wondering if I should go get another unit.
The power button should be flush, but there shouldn't be any movement in the speaker grills

Thanks. Not trying to be picky but it was an expensive tablet and I tend to keep devices for a while.
At this price you shouldn't keep anything that isn't built correctly.

The tip on my S pen despresses a little bit, like it's spring loaded, so it makes an annoying clicking sound every time I press it on the screen. I've read other posts saying it's very quiet, which makes me wonder if this is normal behavior.

Try removing the tip with the little metal clamp that comes in the box (yes thats what that is for) and reseat it. Push it in all the way without forcing it. About 1/8 inch should stick out of the pen housing.
Pen should not click.

Hm that didn't do anything, and I've tried switching tips as well.
Here's a video comparing my two S penshttp://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=plcp&v=kiwUZFh__R8
Hear that clicking when I pick the pen up off the screen? Maybe I should run to Best Buy and try out a display model and see if it's any different. And maybe surreptitiously switch it if it is

Might be a good idea. I don't hear a click from mine. Maybe you have ultrasonic hearing.
Sorry to drag up an older thread, but mine does the same thing. I'm wondering if I should just live with it or try to get a replacement from Newegg.

Turns out that after switching out nibs a few times it got better. Try messing with it some and see if it helps.

Hi folks,
This may seem like a daft question, but sadly I obsess about such things.
I just noticed that when my headphones are plugged into my Nexus 5, the plug isn't vertical - it is angled slightly to the left. In other words, it does not sit dead vertically when compared to the phone.
I'd appreciate knowing whether other people's are the same or whether my headphone socket hasn't been fitted properly.
Any feedback gratefully received!
Cheers.
Mine does look to be just a tiny bit slanted to the left. Never would have noticed it otherwise. Don't think it's an issue. But I'm sure someone will be filling an RMA because of it. :silly:
It's obviously that way because of the curve the phone has at the top. Headphone jack is just perpendicular to the surface.

It's normal in my opinion.

normal. slight left slanted. could be a problem for making an all encompassing waterproof case with a headphone screw adapter like the lifeproof case though, So this slight canted design does have disadvantages....
Hello, what is the best way to hold the device for 20-30 minutes without getting tired? The Note Pro 12.2 is not available in my city yet but when I was holding the Note 10.1 2014, I used the left forearm to hold the device (like holding a baby) while using the right hand to operate the device.
Yeah, that's particularly a good way to hold it while standing/walking/multitasking. It also provides stability for graphic art production or similar. Good for people like me, who baby the hell out of new electronics. I've held actual infants with less care.
For reading while sitting down on a couch or recliner next to an armrest or something, and you can't cross your legs to rest it on, this works well - holding the top edge with it propped up on your thigh and resting your elbow on the armrest works well. You have the other hand free for control/food/drink/whatever, but can use the thumb of the hand holding it to interact with the top third or so of the screen (like to turn pages while reading).
I recommend buying 2 flygrips...WWW.flygrip.com
I use it on all my phones and tablets. Very handy

This. ^ +1
Also, it's not really a heavy device. I've been watching Season 4 of The Walking Dead on it spending at least 80 minutes an evening watching two episodes before I go to bed and prop the thing against a pillow to read myself to sleep. I've found it to be well balanced and not cumbersome.

Where do you put the two 2 flygrips? Any photo?
You need to ask for the advanced adhesive (3m) since coating on back is hard for normal stick to stay.

That is the same way I hold it. Sometimes up to 2 hours at a time

So, you just insert your thumbs to the flygrips? What is the advantage of using this product?

Could you please post a photo? Why can't you cross your legs to rest it on?
Listen, you can do whatever works. I was giving an alternative. No you use 2 fingers, (usually ring and middle finger and pinky helps.)

Hi Guys,
Have had this trouble since buying it new. Only 2 months old. Screen suddenly gets black and going in sleeping mode when you put the Tablet flat down. This must be maybe something with some sencor. Like that sencor for the cover when putting down. There is some magnet sencor i Think. Anybody else experience this same trouble? Any solution?
Thank's
Galaxy Note Pro 12.2
Are you using a cover with a magnet/sleep feature? I've tried a few of them, and they all make my tablet sleep when I flip the cover open and flat against the back of the tablet

I have Samsung Book Cover for my NP 12.2 with that magnet/sleep feature. Never noticed that it would turn screen off when it's not closed. Just to be sure I tried and no matter what I did or how hard pushed it towards the back of tablet, screen stayed on.
Cover I am using is Model: EF-BP900BBEGWW
This model ends with *UJ. Don't know whats the difference but at fast look, it looks the same and I can't be happier with it

Yes, i am using the original thin magnet cover made by Samsung. Can it be that really? The frånt of the cover goes on back of the tablet when opened so how can that affect?
The magnet's effect goes out in all directions right? If that particular magnet is strong enough, it can cause the magnetometer to react, whether the flap is in front or back.

There are several threads on this issue. If you put pressure on the edge of the screen with the Samsung cover folded back, the note can go into sleep mode. I almost returned my note pro because it kept going to sleep while using LectureNotes. I changed covers and haven't had an issue since.

That is exactly what happens. Cover on back and it's enough with some small pressusure in some places on the front and the screen goes black. So what cover would you recomend? Because now it's second time i have it back to the shop for fixing and this time i told them that if it continues then i wanna return the Tablet and cash back
.
Thank's for responding about this...
I'm using the WAWO Smart Fold cover and haven't experienced these issues nor can I replicate them.
It's a $9 case on Amazon as well so shouldn't set you back much.
One thing I can say about the case is that the magnet isn't particularly strong and feels just strong enough to hold shut but it's easily opened when you want to. It may be too weak to trigger the sensor when folded back.

I was having the same issue with the Samsung cover, As soon as I got my mine tempered glass in I just ripped the flap off the case and use it as a hard shell cover.

Same situation here.. im not gonna switch cases though so I need to consider what to do
I received a couple of reports of device going to sleep while using LectureNotes. It turned out that the problem occurs due to S-pen usage (this is why you observe it with LectureNotes) if Samsung's AirView is enabled; the problem did not occur anymore after disabling this service.

oh i see. therefore, what would be a sustainable solution, could be to disable when taking notes in LN.
otherwise i thought it had something to do with the fact that i actually use a second s pen while the first one is docked
I know that they have poor tactile feedback but has anyone else noticed that the power button feels much 'looser' compared to the volume buttons? Or is it just mine?
Thanks!
Looking closely at mine while moving them back and forth, I really can't tell if one is looser than the other. They seem to be the same to me.

Mine are the same. Cant tell any real difference between them.
Mine is the opposite. The power key is so tight n difficult to press that I had great difficulty in pressing it with a protective case I was using.

Is that the case or the phone doing that? My Tudia case makes my button hard to press but it's the case. I actually like the case for that, but it wouldn't work for some people. My wife has trouble pushing the button in.
I think it was a mixture of my phone's button being too tight and my cubix case being brand new. I had a similar case for my moto g 1st Gen but didn't have such problems. But for this phone it was a tedious task! So I am using the phone without the case.
I wish we also had the double tap to wake feature on this phone like the zenfone 2 series!

Both buttons on mine seem about the same. But between my buttons I have slight light leakage ?
