[Q] Missing Text Messages - Droid Ultra Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have been experiencing missing texts with messenger app and hangouts. This has happened to both Maxx's (one with root, one without root) also a mini. What can I do to fix this?

regular texts or pic msgs? and "messenger app" the stock sms app?

I had this issue, fixed it by clearing the cache/data. Every now and then it comes back, but a wipe of the app data fixes it again.

[Q] [CM10] Messaging app force-closed, all SMS disappeared - what can I do?

Not much else to say. Switched over to Messaging to send a text, the app closed, and when I started it up again, it found no SMS. Same thing after I rebooted the phone. Any way to recover my SMS or prevent the issue from occurring again?
Did you delete data in dialer storage anytime recently?

Thanks guys. I will use GOSMS for now until CHOMP gets updated. I went to CHOMPS website and it says then there is a known problem with JB and it will be updated soon.

Yup. Called AT&T, all setting were fine, so I downloaded Textra SMS and everything works now. It's not a solution to the Hangouts issue, but it's getting it done for now.
i have a problem with MMS in hangout app, friend of mine sent me a multiple pictures but when i click on the photo to go in the full screen it only open the last picture he sent to me

Google voice texts not showing up

I am having a problem with texts to my Google Voice number. Many of them are not showing up, although they show up on the Google Voice website. Anyone notice this problem?

Does it persist through a reboot? It's a buggy app.

It does persist through a reboot. What app are you talking about? I have my Google Voice texts delivered to my default text messaging app. Except right now some are not being delivered. Right now I am using both Ninja SMS and Textra. I've never had a problem with this before this past week.

Do the texts get delivered to the GVoice app if you enable that option?

Yes. The problem seems to be with the handoff from Google Voice to the default text app.

Did this start happening after one of them was updated?

I'm not really sure. However, the texts are not showing up on any text app I load. In fact, they are not even showing up in Hangouts.
Your work may have a proxy/gateway/firewall and it may be scanning incoming traffic. I know whenever I try to download files sometimes at work it can kind of lag then all the sudden is fast depending on what it is. For example, using Ubuntu and if I did an apt-get upgrade or apt-get install and the mirrors were HTTP it was horrendously slow but FTP was fast.

Slight delay in receiving SMS with Hagnouts

Hi all
I have noticed that sometime i can get a delay of about 10-15 minutes in receiving a SMS using hangouts. Anyone else notice this? im thinking maybe changing SMS app might solve this?
Thanks
Chris
I assume the problem doesn't occur with the stock SMS app?

Go to Settings > Wireless & Networks > More > Default SMS App
Done that it only has hangouts listed

Hangouts is the stock app on the Nexus 5, yes. I tried it for less than a day after getting my N5 in December and I didn't seem to have any delays, I simply didn't like it. I use 8sms with no problems.
