Hi guys
"Encryption Unsuccessful"
this problem appear when i flash CROMBI-KK-cm11 ROM with GRIMKERNEL, and i not find solution :/
whats wrong?
U probably flashed grimkernel with f2fs support. Now u need to format /data and /data media using twrp which support f2fs (it should be in crombikk or grimlock thread, it is in geass kernel). After that it will work fine

Hi,
I've been using cromi-x rom for several months (v5.2.3 with kernel thatv7 and fsync off) and it run really fine. I even don't consider to install data2sd or rom2sd as performance already meets my needs due to fsync off.
But i'm a curious man and i'm interested in testing another rom : cm11. But i have few questions about that (i did not find answers in existing threads) :
- does cm11 correct the tf700 i/o issue (with sync off for example) and will i get as good performance than on cromi-x ?
- i have TWRP installed but CM requires CWR. Which one is compatible with both roms (so that i can easily switch back from one rom?to the other) ?
Thanks

I doubt it since essentially it is hardware related (cheap memory) and I doubt that the CM team found a better way to mitigate it than sbdags.

TWRP 2.6.3.2 also works with CM11. It also seems to work fine with CROMi-X.
sbdgas just modded the rom2sd2 script to run CM11 as rom2sd with _thatv7 on internal. Somebody else tried the same scenario with Hund's kernel - both ran like syrup it seems....
But give it a shot running CM11 on internal with TWRP 2.6.3.2! That's what nandroids are for
And let us know how it went!

As far as I understand, the solution was to put fsync to off. Maybe CM has also implemented that solution, but I don't find any information about that on CM thread / website.

Yep you're right, I see that there is a thread explaning that, I will read it and try to apply it. I'll give news about my testing but that will take a few days probably as i'm very busy at the moment at home.
I've read the dual-boot internal+external rom thread and it needs a linux machine which i don't have. Could i do that gparted configuration with a live-linux CD ?
And about performance, does the option "fsync off" exist in CM11 ? If not then i don't expect good performance/no-lag like on CROMI-X and i would be then not interested to test CM.

Sure! I recommend the one from sysresccd.org (should be in every household), but you can also use the GParted live CD or any other that includes gparted.

As long as the kernel supports "fsync off", it will also work in CM.

Thanks for your answer, i'll try it when i have time (late at night when child and wife are sleeping )
Not all kernels that support f sync off support cm11, the only cm11 kernel besides the stock cyanogen mod one is bryce09's and that still has bugs. CM 11 with the build.prop tweaks, clean master, lagfix, and crossbreeder give performance better then CROMI-X with no overclock.

do u want a kernel which supports initi.d for creating ext partition ???
Try Agni Kernel. :good:
try next kernel, oh and flash samsung-proprietary after flashing next kernel, it helps fix the mic issue
next kernel feels faster to me, though battery life isn't the best but if you want performance try next kernel, but if you prefer performance with better battery life you could try agni kernel
Sent from my GT-P3110 using xda-developers app that crashes for no good reason
Performance is not bad either in Agni kernel,,, i tried it in cm based as well as touchwiz roms; it was very smooth.FYI,it even supports under clocking which will save a considerable amount of battery, ,, you will not see even 1% battery drain for the whole night.

I have an All F2FS version of the latest CM110-M10 snapshot that I want to use the CharizardX-CAF-r57 kernel with.
I have tried and failed to make the r57version ALL-F2FS compatible
I was using the F2FS Tools in this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=53836165&postcount=1
I know there are other CAF Kernels that support All F2FS, but CharizardX has the BatteryLifeExtender option that I like and want to use.
Any help getting this Kernel running with All-F2FS would be great.
Thanks
Have you tried asking in the thread you linked? Seems the best place

CM10.2 kernel?
Hi this thread is very clear thank you!
For CM10.2, which I prefer since it is a hassle-free stable version, which kernel that you offer in the download section should I use? CM11?
WiFi on ROM2SD & F2FS
Hi, your solution works great thank you! But when installing CROMi-X on ROM2SD with F2FS, the wifi does not work.. everything else works fine - and when installing CROMi-X with F2FS to internal, the wifi works fine too (this is the option I have now).
to be more precise, the wifi keeps showing "turning on" without ever actually turning on no matter how long I wait.
Any ideas on a fix?
Thank you

If i remembered correctly that is a kernel issue. You are using one of the kernels i provided or CROMI's own kernel?
I agree.
Did you use the modded _that v9 kernel?
You could try _that11 modded by kansasboy for CROMi-X/f2fs/rom2sd:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=57239822
Yes, I used the kernel provided.. ok, I will the other suggested kernel by _that too and get back to you, thank you!
It still does not work.. I tried _that and Hunds kernels included in the original postand the kansasboy modded _that11 kernel suggested above.
I also tried the original _that11 kernel but it failed in TWRP.
No matter which kernel I use it always gets stuck at "Turning Wi-Fi on..."
Any other ideas please?

I have just noticed the issue (sorry for spamming this thread)
The kernel used during running ROM2SD is the kernel of the Internal memory. Why would this happen? Any ideas on how to fix it?

There can only be one kernel. So you have to flash the same one when you flash the internal/external rom if you want to run a dual boot system. So your kernel has to be compatible with both roms.

When I follow the instructions for F2FS on ROM2SD and I install a new kernel, then the kernel already installed in the Internal memory does not get replaced...
My internal is also F2FS with _that's kernel for F2FS included on the instructions
So I will install directly on the Internal hund's to check then.. But it seems that to me it may not be the kernel since _that's should work..
Hey guys have anyone tried to or currently using F2FS on the phone? Do you think it's stable? If so how can I change to F2FS (cause for the love of god I can't find any guide)?
My friend recently change to F2FS on his Mi6X and it's absolutely feels different so I'm quite interested in this atm.
Thank you in advance!

Goto the kernel ROMs section and look for arters thread. He has a guide on getting F2FS enabled on the data partition plus with his kernel. Recent reports show you're not bound to his kernel so you can experiment with what works and what doesn't.
Overall you won't expect that much of a performance jump since the OP6 is pretty great as it is but you can judge for yourself
I had the arter kernel with havoc os for a week and I didn't see any performance improvements, more so, the battery life got a LOT worse than with ext4. Also, you can't encrypt your phone with f2fs and twrp won't be bootable (unless you do it with fastboot boot).

I'm using f2fs now... Very stable... Very fast... No bugs encountered so far.... Used f2fs with arter kernel on 9.0.4, then moved with it to Radioactive kernel without any problem.... And now using f2fs with Elemental X 3.11(3.10)... Verrrryyy STABLE... USE IT ONLY ON DATA... AND CAN FLASH EVERYTHING WITHOUT PROBLEMS...

Hey man so what is your experience with ElementalX compared to arter kernel? I think arter is good since he build it from CAF but I also look for another kernel since I need Kcal, cuz iPhone screen spoiled me :v

What are you looking for in a kernel?
ElementalX is a very stable oriented kernel. Imagine it like a stock+ type of kernel that you can rely on. And if you like tweaking your own stuff it's perfect since you can do just about anything you need.
I personally have not used arters work but it's almost the opposite. He's moving away from the OP stock work since he disagrees with it. He does aim for better cleaner performance.

That's exactly where I'm confusing, OP stock or CAF stock (as Arter mentioned), I'm looking for battery life with stable and consistent performance (the OP is strong enough so I'm not looking forward to boosting it more)
I used Arters kernel and RZ, too with F2FS.
But at the end I stick with Smurf. Feels bit smoother at all.
so is there a howto
I tried changing it in twrp and rebooting and then just get dumped back into recovery.

The instructions are in Arter post in the Kernel thread, basically, you format your data as f2fs, and flash f2fa_fstab then boot.
Please look in the thread for detailed instructions

that didnt work either, his guide just boot loops recovery. But maybe his only works with his kernel.
But I tried the one in this thread again and it worked second time.
