First music player app that had floating controls like the fb-chatheads.
This is a pure FOLDER player (albums and artits is integrated, but again the whole folder where the artist/album is found will be shown!).
You can stream music from Dropbox and Google Drive.
I developed this for my personal use, so if you want more features, please let me know, but I might not add them .
The app is fully customizable: Different list styles, colors, sizes.

Complaining about too much updates ?
I care about what I publish and want it to be perfect.
Some things seem to be good at the start but need tweaking later to fit the needs of everyone.
beat supports 2800+ devices, is available in all countries, is free and you can switch off the ads (the switch is not hidden somewhere).
With 2000-3000 downloads a day new bugs, feedback and suggestions come up everyday and I want to make everyone happy.
So please think twice before you complain about too much updates, instead tell me what I should update next

Nice music player you've made there =] The UI is clean and easy to use, gestures are handy, action bar is handy, and nice floating music controls for multi-tasking.
I do get FC when I add a folder to shortcut and go to the main menu to scroll down. The FCs stop when I remove the shortcut so it doesn't FC until I scroll, long-pressing to remove shortcut is possible.
I also notice that if I have a folder with some loose files + folders with music in it, the adding to playlist feature only adds the loose files and not the folders, is there a setting to change that?
If I may, I have a request, since it is a folder player, is it possible to add "play folder (and subfolders)" without opening it or making it a playlist? Also, could you add screen rotation capability to use the player in landscape mode?

Force close when scrolling the navigation drawer is fixed in 1.24.
Let me think about for a while how I could add the subfolder-thing for playlists and playback in a proper way.
On my ToDo-list:
- landscape
- a proper tablet layout
- random playback from all songs
- subfolders
- a better floating icon

Nice app, now, beat is my default player. EQ, and nice design.
On my SGS works perfectly, but I found a little bug.
In the status bar does not change the track names. All the time it indicates the title, which was played first.

Do you have image files in the folders ?
Currently i check & display the cover like this:
Check if folder.jpg is there. If not take biggest image file.

1.27:
- fixed: song name in notification only updates when songs are switched from the notification (forgot to handle the 'cover swipe song change')

SWEET! will try once i get my phone fixed! (i loaded wrong script and im fixing a brick XD), but one feature i would like to see implemented (if there is an api for it that is), is google play music intergration (if possible, and allowed by google of course ), then this would meet my needs for everyday use =), as the features are really unique for a music player =), keep up the good work and ill watch your progress =)

If that's ever possible, I'll implement it for sure.

I really like the UI design!
Here are some bugs I found so far on my Galaxy Note 3:
The title of the song currently playing is not being displayed in the notification, just the progressbar, time and the app icon
The folder view laggs like hell on my device (power saving off)
Oh and it just crashed xD
Usecase: install fresh app; press ok when asked to choose a root path; go up to the sd end external sd cards;choose external and a music folder;play a song; play another song from within the same folder; open the left swipe menu and press recently played(doesn't work sometimes, also the scrollbar max value is too big, causing the list to jump around when scrolling on my big screen) when you are in recently played, press back and you have an empty view; press back again (you are on your homescreen) launch the app again and it crashes.

Oh! I actually have the album art tagged in the file. Only some have the .jpg file in the folder. Does this music player not support embedded album art (either way, it's quite the awesome music player)?

You can find lyrics by click on the track's context menu or long click on track. But you need to sing in vk for getting lyrics. Because app looking for lyrics on vk.com

Great player, but it does not read or see any of my playlists, can only create playlist on device.

Just installed and it looks nice. Thanks for the counter on the widget, useful feature IMO. I'll try it later.

Does it play cue files and APE?

This Player has a wonderful UI , but it doesn't list .m4a music in the library even though it can play them when selected to open the .m4a files in file managers.

It is because the .m4a extension is not the default extension.
However you can change this by go to setting->library and folder->file extension, then select the .m4a.
After that, you should choose scan music (the top item in the same screen). Now the .m4a will be listed.

Sorry, currently it is not.

I can't find my mp3 files which are on extcard. In settings there is only path mnt/sdcard. But there is no other path to access extcard.

Compare to the Laisim, there are many features are removed (Visualizer, separate EQ (Onemp offers the EQ also but It applys for all tracks, etc), but many of them are improved (song scanner now is very fast, better supports theme, cross fade, etc). However, one thing to note, Onemp supports Android Lollipop 5+ only.

When I start writing the app, I have no idea about its name so I call it XMP

Sure, Click the song title on the Player screen, if the setting set the click title action to open track info, the Song info dialog will appear. This screen displays some useful information that, of course, include the bitrate.
Another way is that you click on the song item in the list of songs, then select Info. Hope that help

It has support for external storage but your path to sd card might be something special so that It can't detect. Could you please show the external sd path of your device?.
For the ALAC type, It does not support at the moment, sorry.

As someone mentioned here, it doesn't see my external SD card with over 1200 songs. It only shows a few notifications, some ringtones, and one downloaded song that is on my device. All the other music apps I've tried or use find the songs with problem.

It looks pretty cool. Good Job.
But when i open the equalizer it crashes. Android 5.1.1
But it is probably because of my phones' hardware.
And can u add a menu at lock screen to choose music. There is a lock screen menu in MyMusicplayer but it is very old and updated at 2013. And i am looking for new music player which have song menu at lockscreen.

Can't start app. LG G2 stock 5.0.2. I have getting "crash reported" or something like that.
btw. what phone is at pictures?

Started with a crash but seemed unaffected from then on, are you able to support folder view, equalizer also works fine. Nexus 6 rooted.

Can you check latest version from play store ?. ...there is equalizer bug fixes.

Can you check latest version from play store ?. It seems there is permission issue. make sure grant permission.

Yeah in future there gonna be folder support and many more.

Just tried v1.0.2, and still same. When I click to start app getting white background and "crash reported" message.

will push soon new update....i've seen logcat of your device and error is due to equalizer..... i'll soon fix it.

Can you explain more details on it . also ,if you can share me your device info . also try this method and let me know...enable permission from settings every and clear apps data..

Thanks for the folder view, is it possible to remove artist album etc and replace with the folder view? No crashes to report, well done!

well it's possible bt if i'll do tab view have to remove from the app. if you want i can add folder view with tab.
Also ,are you on 7.0 or 7.1.1 ? can you provide some logcat of whole app from start to end like equalizer function...... i'm gettings lots of crash report of equalizer on 7.0 and 7.1.1 ....it seems people not granting runtime audio record permission.

Cannot even start app. When I click on icon I get white background and "crash reported" message. I already have give all permissions and tried with clear data/cache for app. Also tried few reinstalls. But nothing changed.

is your mobile rooted ?...if yes could you upload logcat ?......this will help me to solve bug on your device.

Yes it is. But I just updated it to v1.0.5 and everything is fine now?! Nice music player. TNX If I get any problem, I will post logcat.

sure, Finally worked cheers

Cant open sd card in my p9 lite with cm13. It shows only android folder and nothing more. Maybe something wrong with paths or something. Or add something like : "choose default music folder" with sd card reading. Dont know, but cant even test it as have everything on my sd
