Hi. I was just wondering if someone could tell me if it is possible to install a new ROM with out root access? Or give me a link to download and install SU permission for a LG Optimus Elite. What happened was that my phone was rooted and I accedentallty erased the SU permission file that the phone came with. Now when I root check it says A demon has materialized while pooting. Error code 16. su binary was not written. Path is "/sbin:/vendor/bin:/system/sbin:/system/bin:/system/xbin" I would appreciate any advice I could get on getting my phone rooted again. Thanks much
i got the same problem a few months ago, there should be tutorialls to unroot your phone. if you reroot it this should fix it. i fixed it through reflashing evrything, worked well with a bit time pain. on the other hand you would get a new clean os through reflashing
Vroot will help u.

Hey guys
(Sorry think i posted this in the wrong section first time round)
Got a MID816R2 stuck on 2.3.1 seen some nice new Roms out there and firmware updates, but cant seem to get them onto the device! Rom manager clockworkmod recovery does not list this device so cant use this (unless someone can tell me different)
Terminal emulator gets denied by Superuser.
even tried ADB, but get a permission denied message
Other issue is even though i can transfer files via USB direct to PC, and device is shown on ADB, there seems to be a driver issue in recovery mode, tell me no driver for android 1.0 strange cos i am running 2.3.1 which came from the seller installed
Is there any kind of Bootloader unlock tool????
Anyone knowing any way to update the firmware or install Roms on this device please help :-(
If you're getting a permission error using ADB then make sure you type sudo in front of it.
ROM Manager put out an update today to help with new or unrecognized devices. But let me ask you this. Have you rooted it first before you try and flash CWM and junk?
Hi,
Thanks for the first response
Yes its rooted (using superoneclick)
I think the bootloader is locked from the seller? i did hear they are releasing rom manager 5 soon, so if they do list the MID816R2 my issue should be solved?
When you say type sudo in front of it, you mean in front of ADB or ADB then SUDO then command?
Thanks again ;-
I mean type sudo before anything else in the command.
If SU is denying you then you're not rooted. Or SU is just being silly. Make sure your binary is updated for SU and if you're still getting permission errors and whatnot try rooting it again. I've seen it before where it only does a halfway root and installs SU without actually gaining root access.
Thanks for the advice, i used root checker, and it says rooted and busy box installed? used superoneclick to get root as nothing else was working, is there anything better to get root? (although i do think its rooted)
Try the super one click root. Put the phone on debug mode. More information add on msn. [email protected]

So I had the same issue, I saw something similar to this issue in the FAQ; though I could not find anything definitive on it.
However there is a post that might help you in the Rooting FAQ , it is post 84

You will need to reinstall your Super User app if you update root with the link above.
There is also SuperSU , but for some reason, that won't let me update my binary either with version 0.94 of SuperSu, I haven't trid it with the update su binary
Note - you will need to reinstall your superuser app if you redo the root.zip with the above link.

Do you have root on your phone now ?
Did you install and update BusyBox app before installing and updating SuperSU binaries ?
Try to install BusyBox App first then
Open BusyBox and Install BusyBox.
When that finishes restart phone and then install SuperSU and update binaries.
Hello everyone i am new to the forums and i am asking a question regarding updating the su binaries on my phone. I got my g2 back in november because they were out of one m7s and this was the second best phone. So i went home and figured id root it. I didnt really want a rom i just like being able to record my screen and mess with the clocks. So none of the ways to root this phone worked so i tired this one in chinese. I succesfully rooted my phon. And it installed supersu. It said i needed to update the binaries so i hit ok. It said it failed. I tried updateing them by moving the .su directly to the folder, but sense i dont even have root permissions because i dint have a .su, it was unsuccessful. So what are my options? Im only 14 and kinda new at rooting, i have done it on two phones before, so please keep it simple. I dont care about keeping my data so i can i flash a stock rom? I. Tried it before but the method was for the 16 gig version which used a kdz file and sense i have a 32 gig version i needed a different file for some reason. In my phone settings it says im rooted and in recovery mode it o whatever pressing vol down and power with a usb connected do does, it says so to. I do NOT have access and i cant figure out how to update the .su and i could really use some help. Could you give me a link or something showing me how to flash a stock rom, or cyanogenmod? Or just getting a way to update the .su would be fine. Sorry for the long description i just want it to be easy for you to diagnose my problem.
Thanks,
Riley

You can check this thread about root on your device: [Root] Stump Root for LG Devices (2012 - 2014) Big update 1.2.0.
And here is the SuperSu app thread: [STABLE][2015.01.20] SuperSU v2.45.
In the first post there is also a zip file for flashing in custom recovery. If you use this, you won't need the binaries updating process like after updating via Play store.
For registered users, there is more help in the root Q&A thread for your device, and for the SuperSU app update in the SuperSU support thread.
Thread closed. Thank you.
Hello guys
So i have a problem complicated i tell you:

Thanks
Hello, thank you for using XDA Assist.
This is pretty easy so i'll answer you right away, go HERE and download the latest binary files from chainfire and flash them via recovery. Then boot up and uninstall kingroot and all other root apps. You should then have working root and a working root controlling app.
Good luck!
