Device settings disappearing!! - General SlimRoms Discussion

Hi All,
I flashed the Slimkat latest build today and after doing the necessary changes, I had to reboot the phone once (xposed installer requires it). So, after reboot, I am finding that the Device options in the Advanced options in settings is gone. It has just disappeared. Not sure what happened. In there was the setting to disable the backlights. I am very much missing that option. Anyone have a fix to get it back or any other way to disable the capacitative lights in my S3?

Weird constant tapping bug

I've had this problem in the past with some app but I don't think I've ever fixed it.
As soon as the app loads, I get constant tapping at the center of my screen (I have enabled the 'dot' to show from developer settings) rendering it unusable. A regular desktop mouse cursor even momentarily blinks while this is happening. Prevents me from using the phone altogether, even the reset shortcut won't work. I have to lock the device and go to settings so I can switch apps and use my phone.
Anyone knows about this? Is it app specific or is there something I can do to fix it? I have disabled lots of settings on my device, disabled Xposed altogether, etc. Even tried safe mode but to my surprise you can't run apps in safe mode (how great is that?). Any suggestions?

Old Samsung i9100 Cyanogenmod reinstall/upgrade

I have a Samsung Galaxy S2 (i9100) with the latest Cyanogenmod v11 (Android v4.4.4). A few days ago when I turned it on, I found it had gone silly and lost many applications and settings. I re-run link2sd, thinking it might be the problem, and I did manage to get the apps back. However, it seems that some system settings are lost for good, and there are a few glitches:
- The home key doesn't work in the system UI Trebuchet. No home screen, no process list with long press, etc. The button itself works ok, since it gives vibration as feedback.
- The lock screen security never kicks in, so when the phone goes to sleep it's unlocked, even if I set security to "Pattern" in Settings -> Lock Screen -> Security.
- Some other settings don't work, even if they appear to be set correctly and I keep on confirming them. For example: The notification drawer has disappeared and won't come back again. Some kind of icons won't show up in the notification bar: WhatsApp, SMS etc. There's no extended power button menu even if it's enabled in my preferences.
I thought I'd solve these problems by reinstalling Cyanogenmod 11. I have a few questions.
Can I reinstall the same Cyanogenmod version without a hard reset? Any important piece of advice about that?
Can I switch to Cyanogenmod 12 flawlessly? I am afraid about doing that because I don't want to lose my working recovery. I have CWM-based recovery 6.0.5.1 right now, and I wonder if it's compatible with CWM 12.

System UI Tuner There but NOT There???

I'm using the LG Aristo MS210 Android 7.0
I've rooted, flased custom recovery (Thanks to TWRP), recovered from several bricks -some were with the help of TWRP, most of the others were not-
I have Magisk Manager installed properly and successfully installed a module.
I've even successfully tested and installed several themes.
But yet, I cannot for the life of me figure out what is going on with System UI Tuner. It's literally blank when I open it.
There's no icon next to 'System UI Tuner' inside settings. But if I switch to list mode, there's a wrench icon next to it.
What the hell is going on here?! I couldn't activate UI Tuner by touching and holding down on the wheel in the quick settings notification bar because no matter how long I hold down, it doesn't spin. I came across this glitch a whole different way.
ALSO, I was able to gain access to Night Mode! But not thanks to System UI Tuner in settings!
Night Mode works fully! If I'm able to use night mode, even if i went a really not System UI Tuning like way about it, and if UI Tuner shows up in settings but comes up blank when I click on it, there has to be some way to fix this or enable it one way or another right?? I mean, the fact that Night Mode was an option in the phone but not normally accessible at all should back that theory, I would assume so at least. Please, if anybody knows what this means, how to get System UI Tuner fully instead of only have 1/4 access to it, how to get the wheel to spin in quick settings, or have experienced this before leave a comment or message me! Thanks you guys!
I know this is late, but no.
We don't have access to system tuner at all.
You can use ADB commands to force some of the tuner options, but forcing the tuner into existence breaks your status bar something harsh.

Settings menu keeps crashing

Is anyone else having an issue with their settings menu. Once I installed Android 10 when I specifically go into display settings menu it crashes?! I am trying to turn on touch navigation... And I can't do it. Already did a factory reset. That didn't help. Keeps doing the same thing. I was looking to do a cache wipe..... However I don't see those options when I hard reset. Any suggestions? Anyone else having this issue?
Try flashing full update through the recovery menu from your SD card (easier imo) or ADB. Full updates can be downloaded here: WW-17.1810.1910.63 and WW-17.1810.1910.68
I had the same issue on my device when I got the Android 10 update.
I found a fix that worked for me on the ZenTalk forums. For me the problem was that the Asus version of dark mode was still enabled somehow. The fix was too disable dark mode from the quick toggles in the notification shade. Once that was turned off, I could access display settings no problem

Substratum Overlays Won't Uninstall

So, I am changing this thread entirely. My original thread is hidden below.
I am running stock 10.0.1 rooted with Magisk. I was having the following issues:
1) Whenever selecting "Build and Install" for an overlay, it would then not show up in the Manager tab.
2) Whenever attempting to uninstall an overlay, it would not uninstall.
Turns out, any time I make a change in Substratum I have to restart before that change takes affect (with the exception of enabling/disabling an overlay). I'm not sure if this is the expected behavior, but if it is then it wasn't made very clear. So hopefully this helps anyone else who is experiencing the same issues.
Substratum has been really shaky for me on 10.0.1. My main issue is that I cannot get overlays to uninstall.
In substratum I go to Manager > Check the (already disabled) overlay that I want to uninstall > Tap the Action Button > Tap "Uninstall selected."
Nothing happens when I do this. Any ideas?
[Update] The workaround that I have found practical for my purposes was to run the SubstratumRescue.zip from TWRP. You will have to reconfigure your gesture and customization settings when you do this, but it is not as much of a pain in the ass as it could be I suppose.
I have always used build/install. Reboot. Activate them. Done.
Works every time I mess with my phone and need to get my theme back.
To uninstall, I uninstall what I want, reboot. Never had any issues getting them to go away.
