hello, am new to site and rooting....currently rooted with synergy supersonic rom, i am wondering if anyone can help me with trying to get my 4g working with this rom(or is it possible)....
4g
I would also like to know this I think my rom is also giving me trouble
To find information regarding your problem you must post more info like what phone you have.. What rom you are running.. Also google the roms name look on the threads of that rom sometime the devs don't add wifi because they haven't figured out how to implement it with the build

Its best to go into the Evo subforum, Q&A for questions like this.
4G/WIMAX/LTE/HSPA+ are not affected by root at all, so don't worry about it. Providers don't block data for phones with root, it checks the IMEI to check that the device is on the Carrier list, and your plan needs data included.

That's not exactly true.
Early root methods for the Evo and photon caused a loss of the rsa key.
He's having an issue that's specific to his rom/kernel and its best that he either ask in the rom/kernel thread or in Evo subforum Q&A

Then I guess it's different for people with cdma phones, no such issue is heard of on rooted gsm devices.
Im guessing 1. Bad download. Or 2. Bad communication between rom and radio. You wipe everything correctly?

Hi,
I have read many threads and posts but I still have some problems with the wording (meaning) of some words.
What does "RUU" stands for?
What does "WWE" stands for?
And I also have some general questions:
Is it usefull to upgrade to the latest radio? If yes, why? If no, why?
Is it usefull to upgrade to the latest Hboot? If yes, why? If no, why?
Thanks guys!

1. RUU = ROM Update Utility. This is an official HTC ROM released as a self-extracting executable file that will install an official signed ROM to an HTC device for which it was intended.
2. WWE = World-wide English. This usually is used to label an official HTC unbranded ROM that can be used to debrand a carrier-based HTC Device.
Radio upgrades: If you are experiencing calling issues, reception problems, data problems etc., then it is usually beneficial to upgrade the radio. If you aren't experiencing issues, then why try to 'fix' something that isn't broken?
HBOOT upgrades: Not really necessary IMHO, especially since most of the new HTC HBOOTs are now the "LOCKED" version and you have to register with HTC to "UNLOCK" it.
As far as I know WWE stands for World Wrestling Entertainment.
It had to be said.
I had some threads around (you can look through the forum and read them) but the general conclusion at this point is that there is no need of hboot 2.00.2002 except using it with a modded Stock HTC ROM (it is the only ROM around that benefits from the new partitioning scheme with a separate lib)

Solution for AT&T HTC ONE X Signal Dropping Issue / cellular network problem / data
Hi guys am new to this forum and English is not my native language .
I dont know whether this is a proper section to post this kind of thread .
If this is in wrong section I request MODS to shift it to appropriate section .
This worked only for my AT&T HTC ONE X version , and its 100% confirmed .
I was searching for this solution from almost 3 weeks on XDA , and found that am not the only one . Many were having this problem .
Just update it to latest available firmware 4.0.4 which got released on 2-AUG-2012 .
My both cellphones which were unlocked and was on other networks . Was giving frequent signal drops , fluctuation , going complete DEAD
I flashed many radios and even the latest radio which was in 4.0.4 didnt work .
So I came into conclusion that flashing radio wont solve this problem , its only myth .
For updating/restoring it to latest 4.0.4 , Your phone bootloader should be locked . No problem if its rooted .
===========================================
1) Online update through phone itself
goto settings > AT&T software update > Check for updates
and follow the easy instructions .
===========================================
2) Manual update through computer
Make sure u have downloaded the HTC SYNC MANAGER and required HTC Drivers
http://www.htc.com/www/software/htc-sync-manager/
The below file size is 568MB , and its a executable .exe file .
After downloading open the file and follow the instructions . 30-35% battery is necessary to flash the ROM
Firmware official link:
LINK 1 : http://dl3.htc.com/application/htc_one_x_RUU_2.20.502.7_att_us_08022012.exe
LINK 2 : http://www.htc.com/us/support/htc-one-x-att/software-updates
===========================================
Now my both phones are working properly
===========================================
Am not responsible if anything happens during this process with your phone .

I'm gonna try. Getting no LTE signal at home so total useless 4G LTE... I only get HSPA+

Agreed basically the OP is telling us to go back to stock OEM version of the OS.
2nd why are you posting this in the dev board?
It would be better to be in the Q&A section.
I haven't seen this as a widespread issue at all and certainly not one that I have experienced.
I can tell you that here in the Phoenix area that I get great reception, fantastic LTE speeds, and I am running the Telstra radio 223 with the stock new rom, unlocked and Boot loader unlocked

Needs moving to General in the right device forum, though
Thanks for moving the thread :good:
This isn't even in the right forum. This forum is for the International One X. NOT the AT&T One X. That has its own forum.

Don't forget that if you don't have superCID when you do this, you will lose the ability to root until a root exploit for 2.20 is released.
Even i am having the same problem, i have download the ruu but my doubt is i have super cid111111 on my phone, so will ruu work perfectly or do i have to revert it back to stock cid? If yes then what is the procedure to revert back the stock cid?
Sorry for bad english as it is not my native language.

Super cid allows you to flash any ruu as long as it is not a lower version ruu and hboot than you currently have. You should be warned that flashing the 2.20 ruu with the updated hboot will break the ability to flash boot.img radios and kernels from recovery. You will have to use fastboot from your pc to flash them.

Thankx for the help, i am comfortable with comand prompt, have done flashing radio,system..img from fastboot on my desire hd earlier, but the question concern me now is after getting the new hboot will i be able to flash rom via fastboot even if the bootloader is locked, coz acording to my research still at&t has not given rights for unlocking bootloader, and also there is no root exploit yet????

I had the same problem with my HOX. Tried various roms and radios. Atlast I installed an application Network Signal Speed Booster and the problem was solved . Hope it might help to someone. Currently using a CM 10 based ROM.
Cheers!

I have had this problem for probably about 6months now, it's ridiculous. I have tried everything, Factory Reset, flashing stock RUU, everything, wipes, radios and custom ROMs, nothing seemed to work. When I flashed RUU, I think it was ok for a little while, but as time went on, I got more and more signal drops.
When I first read triksense's comment, I thought he had no idea what he was talking about, maybe he just had poor reception. Regardless, I was willing to try anything, so i installed the free version of Network Signal Booster from the Market. It has been 2 days now, and I have not had a single signal drop since running this app. It would be nice to not require a 3rd party app installed to make my phone run smoothly, especially an app that I don't really know what it is doing exactly.
Anyways, to anyone with this issue (are there really not more? Did they just give up and go to Samsung?), I am the second person now that can recommend this app, Network Speed Booster from the Market, to fix the signal drop issues.
Thanks for the suggestion triksense!
I'm currently using a Rogers HOX and have tried searching through this thread in regards to whether flashing any radio would affect LTE capabilities? Or would all radios work with LTE?
Also, if I am running JB, why do I need to avoid the radios with RIL files? *trying to understand*
For context:
I have never flashed a radio (never had a need to) but I would like to flash HTC O2 2.29 (0.19as.32.09.20_3_10.107.32.25): http://d-h.st/AKZ as a lot of other Rogers HOX users seem to have a huge performance and reliability boost with that radio.
Thanks in advance.

For your first question, all the evita radios will work with LTE, so yes you will be fine. Different radios give different performance in different areas. Try out a few and find out which one works best for you.
