I used to have 3-4 days battery with cloudy rom but after stock 120e getting 1 day. I can see it go down every minute. I installed g2tweaks. I'll remove and check.

I had very poor battery life with 20A rooted for a couple of days but then it settled in and I now get up to 2 days on it. I have not upgraded to 20E yet, but it might work the same, even if it sounds weird.
I am tempted to update to 20e because xdabbeb's XCAM no longer suppports JellyBean, but all these battery talk scares me. =\

The original KK 20a release had some rouge services running, but since going to 20e things have pretty much stabilized. I think it'll depend on what apps you have running, the google apps have been creeping up on background battery consumption.

I got mine weeks ago... If you are rooted you won't get it. Just download the official rom and radio from here.
I am not rooted!! As stock as they come
Verify your build number
Setting -> About Phone -> Software Information and look at build number. Let us know what that is.
Also (not saying your dumb or didn't know to do this, but you didn't specify if you have tried or not) try a force check.
Settings -> Software Update -> Check new
My build number is 1.13.605.7
I have called verizon 4 times, and htc ones and everyone just keeps tellimg me thats is coming and just to wait. Come on....21 days
I have also tried all the tricks, battery pull, setting phone on 1x and even dailing that *#*#2..... number thing. The only thing is refuse to do is a factory reset only because i have read in other forums that people called htc and they had them do a factory reset only do have no result.

I just wish I could make the OTA update stop bugging me. On my first TB, I'd hit reject and it would go away forever. Now I'm rooted on the stock rom and it's bugging me 1-2 times a day despite rejecting it. :\

Why not search for the rooted edition of the ota, install it and then it won't bug you anymore?

To be 100% honest, I never had issues with the stock radios at all (3G only area.) So with no reboots, I wanted to stick with what worked, despite the 'fix' that rolled out, then the fix for the fix (this OTA.)
I'll give it a shot.

Where can this be found? I'm doing a few searches, but would like to keep root and up to the current ota so I stop getting these firmware updates.
They try to install on their own, and lock the phone, have to clear cache to get my phone back working.
Hey guys - has anyone ever noticed a significant change to battery drainage (life) after receiving an OTA update to GB 2.3.4 from Froyo 2.2.1!?!?.. I just had an OTA update yesterday and prior to updating it to GB 2.3.4, my battery life under Froyo 2.2.1 was much better meaning it last longer. Now, after the upgrade I had to charge my battery twice today... usually last me a day to a day 1/2 w/o charging before... BTW prior to updating it to GB, my device was temp rooted. Could it be because i'm not rooted that it affects the battery life?!? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I've noticed less battery life from my stock rom on most roms i've flashed, but they usually all still last the whole day, so I just charge it each evening.
Time to root and flash a custom kernel and oc daemon

Well yeah I need to but I really don't want to as I'm patiently waiting for anybody to develop a way to root the GB w/o downgrading.. Prior to system update to GB, I had 2.2.1 and temp rooted it using Visionary.. then months and months later i finally received an ota update and got on with it. Yes, I do restart my device about once or twice a month but I really have no problem of re-rooting it (temp) all over again. What's your take?...

Yes, my battery isn't for crap any more. Fully charged this morning, no use and it drained in about 2.5hours.
Something is definitely wrong here.
I see Android System using 20% of the batter and display using 26%.

Don't worry about it bro, we've all been there. The chances of bricking it by rooting are pretty low if you following all of the instructions. But what i suggest you do if u don't want to root is get SetCPU and use that to underclock when your screen is off. It works really well, i was able to squeeze 17 hours out of the battery on the stock rom

My Note has just been upgraded to 4.1.1 by OTA. After being eager to discover the new features, i realised that All the apps which worked well and fast before now have been slowly. The in-stock internet is not smooth in touch and flip any longer and usually being lag. Other apps take long time to start and respond.. Please tell me what happened with my note and should i do now to improve it? Or i must downgrade to the 4.0 ?
Thanks

Sorry for my dull, but what is wiping? I did not do any thing strange before the system alerted me to upgrade.
Factory reset after backing up apps and data or take Note to a Samsung service centre .

Its was an OTA and not installed using ODIN so there was no need to wipe.
Unfortunately thats is the case with most of the OTA give it a few days things get a little better

Okie, i will let it be for some days. Thanks.
Hi, i am really new to all thing like this, especially forum posting and my new phone motorola Atrix 2. so, i'm sorry for mistakes that might come out.
I just bought it a couple days ago and now i really love the phone, on the day i bought i updated the OS version from 2.3.6 to ICS 4.0.4. ICS which gives me a horrible battery drain, however, i did some researches that stated that battery life of Atrix 2 is quite good (but not with ICS).
I have tried to find many things to downgrade it and come to the RSD option, which i'm planning to use. However, i just too scared that this will hard brick my phone. Some people said they were successful and some didn't.
i am using Motorola Atrix 2, with:
system version: 67.220.3.ME865.Retail.en.05
Model Number: ME865
Firmware configuration version: GAS_ASIA_EDISONHKTWNGNC_P012
Build number: 6.7.2_GC-220-EDS-3
so, my questions are, is my phone with ICS Hong kong retail version which is different from AT&T? (as i cannot remember my Gingerbread previous one).
and, should i downgrade with retail Hong kong or Chinese (which one might be better?).
Will, this be successful? (as many people seems can do and some fail).
I've as well searched through many sites about this and could not confirm what firmware should i use and my version of firmware.
I have tried to download the firmware retail Hong Kong from the droid developer site
(sorry i cannot post any link yet). However, my speed download is very slow, may i have another mirror link?. i still don't know if this is because my internet connection or not, but for other site, it seems i can open and download fast compare to this site.
Sorry for asking so many questions, and thanks for all the help.
There is no downgrading after official update.

You have an ME865 or HK version, which is locked down just like the AT&T version. You can not use GB (2.3.6) anymore.
Go look in the dev section, for non-stock (lite) ROMS, there are a number of them that will give good battery life, also disable things you do not use like Bluetooth, WIFI, etc. when not in use. Disable auto email checking, and other push services. This way to can start from ground zero and add things in slowly to see which is causing the drain.
What exactly is the length you are getting between charges, and how much drop do you get say at 8 am you are at 100% and by 12 noon you are at 70%, and by 10pm you are at 20%... Info like this will help us help you. Also you may have a rogue app that is draining the battery by running all the time.

wow, thanks i almost brick my phone then. the battery life is horrible, i charged it full, then by two or three hours it can drop by 10-20%. When i checked the battery status, the screen display takes like 70% of the activity or the android OS 48% and 30% of screen display, although it is in locked state/sleep. is that means there's an app that keep turning on my phone?.
this lite ROM is it about rooting and flashing?, or can i use RSD in fastboot mode?. if i cannot go back to GB so that means i can only use the 4.0.4 or Jellybean ROM?.

are you on the Q firmware? if not you need to call AT&T and have them push that and then you should get the kitkat update
You can always use flash tools to flash the current 4.4.2 build, however you go back to stock
Saves an hour talking to ATT
Yes most likely you are not getting the Q update and 4.4.2 won't update without it. I flashed/OTA several times now and both times I had to call AT&T to have Q pushed. The other updates push out fine from AT&T though.
Yeah, not on "q". Well that's annoying. Talking to ATT is like pulling teeth sometimes.

Better off using a custom ROM, unless of course you prefer the dull stock ROM. KitKat is no better in my eyes, little snapier.
