nexus 5 signal issue - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi Guys,
I have a 16gb Nexus5, with stock 4.4.4
Have a strange issue of signal getting lost during the call.
After every 5-7 mins the calls get dropped as signal level goes down to zero.
Is there any work around for this? Anyone else facing this issue?
PS : using the device in India, with Vodafone network.

Anyways: It seems it's a carrier related problem ...

try a different modem http://forum.xda-developers.com/goo...t/modem-nexus-5-flashable-modems-efs-t2514095 or get a new sim may be the golden plates is damaged so walk in at vodafone store may help to get sim replaced a get a proper micro sim as in my area there are issues with voda but not with airtel.
so u need to see where the actual prob lies

Anyone on Virgin Mobile/Bell Canada

SO I just got one one yesterday. plugged in my sim, but noticed signal to be always bad. coming from my nexus 4, i can never get full bars this is even data, just calls and text service. Anyone think its a modem issue? I am on 33r btw, any help would be greatly appreciated.

There are some that are having problems with reception depending on where you live. Maybe look into flashing another mode ? Try digging around ( use Google : site forum.xda-developers.com oneplus one modem or bad reception )

[Q] 1+ one Network compatibility in India

Hi everyone,
I got 1+ one few days back. I am facing some problem with it
Network is fluctuating alot. It shows full network range but i am unable to call at times. even internet fluctuates (maybe) because of this.
Can someone please help me with this., what can be the issue?

As per your statement, you are a new user and I think you have not unlocked boot loader yet and also won't have loaded your oneplus one with data, so factory reset is an option.
Before doing above process, do check out your sim card on other compatible smartphone and make some calls via that compatible smartphone.
If you happen to do a factory reset and your issue is not solved, I recommend you to return your device to flipkart or amazon wherever you ordered it.

Galaxy S7 LTE problem's

Hello from Bulgaria.Some one have had a problem with 4g network.Samsung S7 when he was lte \ 3g \ 2g after 30-40 minutes , scope disappears and receives a missed call notification.The problem gone after restart the device and after 30-40 minutes is same situation.If a phone is an 3g\2g no problems.

My cousin bought an S7 Edge, but it had the same problems as listed. She then proceeded to change the phone, yet the other S7 Edge had the same problem. What could be the solution to this problem, and what caused it?
I change 3 phone 2 black and now give to me gold,for now i don't have a problem with the gold piece. Everything work fine.

We changed two gold ones, awaiting for the third. Problem seems to be persistent.

Go to settings and find your APN-settings. Remove IPv6 and save it. Then everything should work fine.
I'm having the same problem. I'm sitting beside my friend with his ip6s+ and he's not having trouble connecting with the lte. just saying that this might not be just a network problem.
I've read about multiple people, including me having this issue, for some the APN IPv4 switch seems to work, but not for everyone. So what is this? Is it related to the phone hardware or software? Or is it a network problem? And will it be fixed? As this is starting to irritate me a bit..
Many People in my country (indonesia) is having similar problem. The signal somehow stuck in 3g. Forcing it to use LTE only using the app "4G LTE Switch) makes the signal gone, emergency only mode. Only a reboot would bring 4g back.
However it only acts up when using one specific mobile provider (telkomsel). Switching to my second sim, also by the same provider, didnt help. But if I switched to another provider, the problem doesnt happen.
Widespread issue in Germany as well. It's carrier independent. Had to exchange one unit. The new S7 Edge I got works fine so far, but has a pink hue on the display. Samsung QA! -.-

Yesterday i got an update on my s7 edge to XXU1APCH and it seems to solve it.
This night it stayed connected. Normally i had the no service available in the morning.
Anybody else see the same?

Downloaded bulgarian firmware,, XXU1APC8 is the only one available. Tried to check for update, nothing yet to xxu1apch...
Update:
Emailed Indonesian Samsung Support, they came up with a temporary solution:
go to phone, dial *#9900#
select debug level disable/low
change to mid
wait for phone to reboot.
2 hours past no signal lost yet
update: 3rd hour signal gone again

has anyone found a solution for the problem above?
in my case I have really slow internet (mobile data) on 2,3 or 4G, it's like it freezes when I try to open a page
when I connect to 4G it maybe works for a second and then nothing else, it's like 2G, very slow (wifi works normal)
can it be hardware problem? I already cleared cache and reset the phone, but it's still the same..
At me the phone can not change back to 2G from LTE, if 3G network is unavailable.
If I use LTE/3G/2G option and somewhere is not 3G network I can't receive or make voice calls.
Phone only works with 3G/2G option in network mode.
But in this case I only can use edge if somewhere only 2G and 4G networks are available.
If I use LTE network, the phone doesn't receive incoming calls.
I bought my samsung s7 gold one month ago in Lebanon (Middle East). I faced exactly the same problem, I couldn't receive any phone calls. Went to the store and they told me to switch from LTE/4G to 3G. Now my phone is always on 3G and working ok so far. But I can't put it on 4G !!!

Same problem! I'm from Mexico and i just bought my pink s7 Edge on sunday, i've been going everyday to the carrier store and yesterday they finally gave me another one but im having the same issue! I can't take it anymore i don't know what should I do Maybe all the pink ones have the same problem? They have already changed my SIM Card, i have tried with another one and it still happens
This sounds very similar to the LTE problem on the Nexus 6P I wonder if it is actually the same problem.

Nexus 5 - Mobile Signal Drop

I have a Nexus 5 16GB D821 on Android 7, had another D821 6 months ago on Android Marshmallow...
Well, I noticed that on my both Nexus that often during the day, my mobile signal drop to zero for 4-5 seconds and then it goes again to 50%-60%
I belived it's not a software problem since I had two Nexus with this issue...
Anyone here have this problem with D820 or D821?
Any fix? It's kinda annoying, sometimes it drops to zero exactly when someone try to call me.
My radio version is M8974A-2.0.50.2.30, Kernel Version 3.4.0-gc30602d ([email protected])

I have exactly the same problem with signal. But I have more problem.
For me, if i drive, i lost my lte service and drop to stupid EDGE which is horrible. I cant hear the music from youtube for example. And I know there is coverage because before works with no problem. Maybe Tmobile can help for me with new sim, but its possible, that is hardware fault :/
Im using my kernel, but tested another one, nothing with completely stock too. Strange :/
Try to debugging but not found a solution yet.
Cant wait for Pixel now But I love this phone

Well, I believe it's not a sim card issue since I had two different sim cards (from the same carrier) and still having the same problem...
I'm really starting to think that it's a hardware problem
And I love my Nexus 5, after 3 years still very fast...

I tried one another sim ( with another carrier ), and my phone its not recognized, only works with my sim which is tmobile. But the another one is very old, but working with S4 mini.
Another radio does not help
I have the same issue! always have to reboot and the signal goes away at random moment. terrible
If you type in phone app *#*#4636#*#* and go to phone test after make ping test what is your result?
For me everythings passes only IP ping got fault with this error: fail: ip addr not reachable with all modem. :/
But i have mobile data working at home. Another city i only have edge for example in Budapest which is a joke xD :/

After a trip abroad my phone signal...

I was traveling to Istanbul a week ago and now when back to Switzerland had huge problems with voice calls, cellular.
This is not the first time. Also on my old Google Pixel phone, the same issue. Now running around with OnePlus.
My signal strength is actually good, full signal sing on the phone. But people keep telling me how they cannot hear me, how I'm breaking...
Any solution for this? Thanks

It's either a problem with your SIM or with your network, it probably isnt the device. If it is the device causing the problem, factory resetting the device or re-flashing your stock firmware might solve the problem.
