FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)
#01:
Q: After capture shortcut, when I place the shortcut in the Favorites section, the shortcut works. However, when I place the same shortcut in the Home Screen, it says "Application not installed". Why is that?
A: Some shortcuts can be launched without root and some shortcuts require root to be launched. In this case, the shortcut is required root to launch. That's why it can be launched in the Favorites list, but cannot be launched in the Home Screen, because a shortcut on the Home Screen can only be launched without root.

Tip:
To create a shortcut for App Ops, go to Menu --> Search and enter 'appops' to search. Tap and select Favorite to create a shortcut in the favorite list.

Tip:
To create a shortcut for Notification History, go to Search menu, enter 'notificationstation' to search. Tap to create a shortcut.

To create a shortcut for Recent Apps, go to Search menu, enter 'recent.recent' to search. Tap to create a shortcut.

To create a shortcut for Testing Menu (*#*#4636#*#*), there are several ways:
a- Go to Search menu, enter 'testingsetting' to search. Tap to create a shortcut.
b- OR go to 'Secret Code Explorer' menu, scroll down to 4636. Tap to test if the code works (Launch 1, 2 or 3) and then create a shortcut.

Update v1.1.0:
- Added 'Launch Method 0' for secret codes. This method allows you to launch secret code with ROOT permission. This way you can launch almost ALL secret codes available for your device, that may have been prohibited due to security policy on some devices (e.g. Samsung).
- Changed the default setting for 'Launch Method 0 and 1' to 'Use per-code scheme', that allows you to launch non-standard secret code on some devices (e.g. Samsung). You can change it in the Settings menu.

To create a shortcut for Band Mode, go to Search menu, enter 'bandmode' to search. Tap to create a shortcut.

Incredible app! Now we can change the Network Bands as well as the RCC Revision which were disabled by Samsung in 4.4....all secrets codes that I was using in GB/ICS work here! Thank you! Really a 5 star app!!
Edit : Why does it need Full Internet access?

This app was design to create a shortcut to an "ready-to use" feature in any app.
This app can create a shortcut to a camera app. But to take a picture, may be you need an app that can record your actions and save as a macro.

To create a shortcut for Proxy Settings, go to Search menu, enter 'proxyselect' to search. Tap to create a shortcut.

Thanks for this app!! I was searching everywhere for that settings testing mode code.

Thanks. Glad you find it useful.

This app solves one of the hindrance of Google app. ( at least for me)... with google app, keyboard only opens automatically when now cards are not shown and I have to click on search bar to activate IME which is too bad. Well, this app solves that problem.
Bravo... 5stars...
Please include SD card search results (music, video, files etc), this will make it a super utility app as the app name suggest.
Thanks for the app.
Thanks all for positive feedback and suggestions:

Yes, smart drawer can be set as default app for search.
If on your device, when you swipe up, directly Google search opens up.
Then..
Step 1.
you first need to clear the default.
To do so, open smart drawer, type "googl", Google search app should appear in filtered list.
Step 2.
Go to app details of Google search app
And find "clear default" button, click it.
Step 3.
Now when you swipe up, you should get a list of apps (including smart drawer) to use for search.
Step 4.
Set smart drawer as default. Or choose "always" options to set it s default search app.
That's all.
Now if all goes right, you should have setup swipe up action for smart drawer.
Enjoy.

In the new version, "table placeholder" is replaced by a blue text "[TAP TO SHOW THE TABLE]". If you press that link, the table will be opened in a popup using a webview.
There is another option, open the settings and select "Use webview". When that option is selected, the app will use a webview to show the chapter. The problem with that option is that when a webview is used instead of the textview, you cannot change the color, font and you cannot start TTS.

The lib that I use cannot display the tables directly. That's the reason I added the option "Use Webview". If you select that option, the app will use another widget to show the chapter if there are tables and the tables will be shown in the text.

How can I create a home shortcut to specific "app pages" or "activities"? (e.g.: shortcut to YouTube's "Time watched" page of the app)

So I have been using several techniques to make shortcuts for a quick and efficient use of settings I frequently tab in and out, and therefore I know that it's possible to make shortcuts for specific sub-settings or "pages" of some apps (I believe the right dev word may be "activity"? Please do correct me if I'm wrong), for example to get to the Android "Notification Log".
But I was wondering if something similar was possible for any app to basically just "capture the app's current opened page" somehow (I don't know if it's like some kind of internal link/path but I would imagine it to be? Once again my knowledge is limited in this field so feel free to educate me or point me to the appropriate ressources), and then from it "paste" the link to that page in a shortcut app or directly create a shortcut of it on the home screen.

I hope that makes sense, to summarize the goal would be to avoid opening an app, going into a sub-menu, and another sub-menu to access one interesting page, and instead access it right away with a simple shortcut on the home screen.

I hope that makes sense, to summarize the goal would be to avoid opening an app, going into a sub-menu, and another sub-menu to access one interesting page, and instead access it right away with a simple shortcut on the home screen.

Use a browser that has the option to create bookmark/page shortcuts on homescreen, open YouTube in your browser, login to Youtube, go to your watched page, open your browser settings and find the option add to homescreen or create shortcut.
I do this with Facebook, YouTube and XDA instead of using the apps, I use Firefox browser (allows adblocking and VPN on all of them without root via add-ons in Firefox settings) to create my shortcuts but other browsers can do the same thing. I enable the option in Facebook and YouTube to send notifications via email(Gmail) then set Gmail to notify me when it receives notifications from Facebook/Youtube. This allows me to receive notifications without needing Facebook app and YouTube app.
I disable the Facebook app and the YouTube app completely and just use the shortcuts I create. Another advantage to this is I don't have the Facebook app or YouTube app running in background at any time or using data in background or snooping/tracking activity.
There are also some apps in Playstore for rooted devices that can create shortcuts to individual parts of other apps and services.

That is one of them, some are pretty basic and some have various additional features.

Well this could work but unfortunately the "Time watched" screen seems to only be available in the YouTube app even though it's "based on the watch history across YouTube products" as it says:
Spoiler: Time watched screen
Here you can see that when accessing YouTube through Chrome the "Time watched" page is missing:

I'm actually using this app, but unfortunately YouTube's "Time watched" doesn't appear as an activity somehow.

Question Placing website shortcuts on homescreen?

Was easy to do on my last phone, but can't figure out how to get an XDA P7P shortcut on this phone.
When I try to do it (while on the P7P threads) I get a shortcut, but it leads me to XDA in general, not the P7P forum.
Any help would be appreciated!

This StackOverflow question has some solutions, but there isn't much around it because XDA provides a manifest file for the PWA that strips the URL to just the domain.
Best solution seems to be to use one of the shortcut creater apps.
This is easily accomplished with Tasker and a Tasker shortcut on your home screen. Or, if you use Nova, you can use a gesture such as swipe up to launch the Tasker shortcut. Below is a screenshot of an example Task (using the Browse URL action) that launches the P7 forums on XDA, and a video attached showing it in use. Happy to help further if you want to give it a try.

With Chrome (and Chromium derivatives)
Open Chrome.
Navigate to the website or web page you want to pin to your home screen.
Tap the menu icon (3 dots in upper right-hand corner) and tap Add to homescreen.
Choose a name for the website shortcut, then Chrome will add it to your home screen.
With Firefox
Open Firefox for Android and go to your favorite web page.
Press the Menu button (either below the screen on some devices or in the upper right of the browser) , then tap on Page.
Tap Add Page Shortcut.
Your shortcut should now appear on your home screen.

Problem is, with Chrome, the shortcut removes the latter parts of the URL and like OP said, it just takes you to the XDA home page instead of the Pixel 7 Pro forums specifically.

This doesn't work. There is no "add to homescreen" or any option like that in Chrome any longer it seems.

I dunno about you...but I still have the option (It's below "Translate" and above "Desktop site")...was just able to do it now...it gave me the option to have it automatically placed ("Add to home screen"), or I could manually place it, or "Cancel" of course...
Out of curiosity, I checked if it'd be possible on an incognito tab; it's not....
If it matters, I'm using version 112.0.5615.136....

Using Brave Browser , i can simply choose "Add To Homescreen" option. And it go to correct page.
Am using Nova btw. So the shortcut is assigned through Nova automatically as well.
