Hi
Just wondering if anyone has tried to get DMB broadcasts on their Ploaris? Are there any special application to install, or is the Polaris not able to receive DMB at all?
Personally i would go with that it is not possible at all. As i dont even know of a phone in the UK that is able to do it. The only place that has it is either china or japan that it is possible to do it with a certain type of DVB broadcast.
If you want TV on your phone though try this app as it may do some of what you want
They've started up here in Norway with free broadcasts of 6 nation wide channels, so I'd like to get it on my HTC and not having to buy a brand new expensive one..
Bump.
Anyone?
just out of interest what HTC does this work with, maybe then there could be a way to get it to work on the polaris (not that i would be able to)
No idea ;-)
That's why I posted this question so that anyone whos HTC works could tell us...
Sent a question to HTC support and this is he answer:
"Thanks for your email. Currently NONE of our handsets support the reception of T-DMB braodcasts. Therefore if you are wishing to watch these braodcasts on a mobile handset, it would need to be of another brand. I am not aware of any plans to introduce a handset with this function at any point in the forseeable future. We here at tech support are not given details of upcioming devices very often, so there may be a device that i am not aware of. sorry i could not give you more positive information. Best regards, HTC Europe Support"
An the follow-up question on were the issue is I got this:
"Its a hardware issue i am afraid. T-DMB needs specific hardware to recieve the signal, just as you can not recieve digital terrestrial on an old analogue tv without a new hardware box to recieve it, the handset must have T-DMB hardware inside to be able to recieve and decode the signal. Best regards, HTC Europe Support"
So it seems like I'm not going to watch tv on my Polaris 'as-is'..
is there any application to tune the radio which is not online?
You mean an FM reciever?
so, did not have the version koreana hardware radio receiver. I'm from Brazil but I bought the version and the version of Koreana Brazil has digital TV, analog TV and FM radio.
Sounds like a rip-off than the actual tab... As far as I know the tab only has tv out for Rca (s- video) and HDMI but the FM radio is new to me...
In brazil the government give some incentives (discount on taxes) to companies that sells electronics with tv receiver ... Here most part of gps came with tv ...
This is why samsung decided to add tv on their phones ... Only here I think ...
My one came from germany ....

Check the iFixIt teardowm of the Galaxy Tab and you will see an empty space: in Brazil it is used for the additional DVB TV component

Good to know... Why couldn't samsung make it available everywhere?
Im guessing the tech specs in Brazil differ from say Europe or America. Therefore including a DVB reciever would be costly and in some cases pointless given that IP tv via GSM / Wi Fi is just as popular.

Could be. Also of course in this country the retailers have to pass on information to the TV licensing authorities if you buy a device that can receive over the air TV. You then get constant mail through the letterbox asking you to prove that you have a TV license. I suspect most manufacturers, retailers and consumers can't be bothered with the hassle .
Right, someone needs to work out what components that thing consists of so we can shoehorn it into the generic Tab's. How sweet would DVB-T be on one of these things!? Very, that's how.
I wonder if the kernel's all have support for the hardware and we just need the app installed.
Thinking of picking up one of these since they are so cheap now,but does this phone support Volte because this is a must for my next phone.

It should. With Verizon it received already the update. In terms of hardware it is capable to support VoLte. It's up to the carrier to decide if it uses it or not.
I just ordered the LG G5 RS988. Is the B&O Mod compatible with this version? I haven't received the phone yet to even know how I feel about it's stock audio performance. I've tried searching for the module, but none of them mention the RS988's compatibility. Thanks.
Unfortunately it's not compatible with any north American models. I was pissed off too. I am wondering tho if it will work with USB c cable as you would with a different phone? Instead of having module directly in the phone?
Greetings,
I am the happy owner of an OPPO Find X2 Pro (CPH2025) imported from Germany.
I managed to upgrade to the latest version of software with VPN. (A42)
I plan to buy the new OPPO Enco X TWS earphones, but as described, it supports LHDC wireless transmission which is not currently supported in my European version of OPPO Find X2 Pro (CPH2025).
I know the Chinese version of OPPO Find X2 Pro (PDEM30) already supports LHDC wireless transmission.
I would be wondering if the new European version of ColorOS11 will include support for LHDC wireless transmission or we will have to catch up with the lower quality AAC wireless transmission which is also supported by both products.
Please confirm to someone who is already using the ColorOS11 beta whether it includes LHDC support or not ...
Thanks!
