MOTO G always shows blank screen even during boot animation - Moto G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I was watching a video on youtube and then suddenly my Moto G's screen went blank. I can seen a the backlight on the blank screen but nothing comes up on the screen. It can still receive the call which means the android OS is still running fine. It had almost 80% battery when it went blank. I tried pressing power button for 10 seconds for the forced restart. It restarts with a vibration but doesnt even shows the boot animation. I tried pressing VOL down and POWER button combo to bring up the boot menu, but nothing comes on the screen. I am suspecting a faulty screen. Does anyone here have any suggestions?
I have not rooted my phone yet. It runs kitkat 4.4.2.

Moto G won't Boot after factory reset

I bought a Moto G for my little brother and it arrived yesterday. The first Problem which appeared was that I couldn't download apps. I started the factory reset and now it won't Boot anymore. There's just a black screen after the Boot animation and I can't even turn it off. Should I send it back to Motorola or should I try to fix it?

If you have only done this what you have described then i would say, yes, send it back.
Because only a factory reset should not bring your phone in this state.
but
Have you tried to press and hold the power button for 20 seconds?
Then it should be forced to switch off.
Sure......you have the option to fiddle around yourself.
In that case see the thread Restore Stock Firmware if above mentioned does not resolve your stuck system
I tried but the phone restarts. I sent a ticket to the Motorola support. Probably they'll tell me that I should sent it back.

Then lets see what Motorola says.

I have the same problem but it doesn't even let me turn the phone off
I have a the same problem, but i have a few more details:
It doesn't actually get to a boot animation, just to the Motorola logo screen that usually comes before the boot animation. it stays on that screen for 15 seconds, and vibrates 10 seconds into said 15 seconds, like the phone does when it goes into safe mode.
If you hold the power button for 20 seconds, it does turn off, only to turn right back on again and do the same thing
its is actually off for about 10 seconds, which is long enough to get into the fastboot menu, but every option that is selected from there gets the same old boot sequence i described before.
My moto g started doing this when i was using it on 14% battery, i went into the recent apps menu (bottom left button next to home button) when it just froze on that menu, but not showing any open apps. It then just turned off, no shutdown sequence, and when i tried to turn it back on the LED Indicator flashed like when it doesn't have enough battery to turn on. i then went into the fastboot menu (power+vol down) for no particular reason, and selected the QCOM option at the bottom out of curiosity. the notification light then did its low battery flash and the phone turned off. I then later plugged it in to charge and it has been stuck in that boot sequence with me running the battery down and trying everything in power, except contacting motorola. ( i didnt conatct motorola as my phone's screen got cracked about three weeks before all this started, so that would mean they wouldnt fix it for free)
My Moto g phone is not working even after factory reset ,, the error is it goes white or dark and i have to switch it off again..Sometimes it starts working and then again it gets switched off then again u have try factory reset or delete cache and just hope it work ..
Any one can help me with this issue please reply
I did factory reset to my Micromax Q350. Before resetting it was running Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 with July 2016 security updates. Now when I reboot the device, after language and SIM options, it asks me to select a WiFi. But it is stuck in "checking connection... this can take a while", even when the same WiFi is working with other devices. The Select WiFi and Checking connection pages can't be skipped as the Skip button is grayed out.
My device is not rooted and I don't want to root is as long as possible, so this answer doesn't help me.
I have tried various options suggested in forums and nothing is working for me. I have tried with and without SIM cards and Micro SD card as well.

Held power button, (or power+volume down) for a while, not too sure. Restarted after that. Just try all combination of keys for a while, might work.

[Completed] [Q] Moto G (U.S Cellular) boot loop. wont charge.

ok so i have a moto g that is fully stock and all my apps were from the playstore and i never noticed any bad lag at all. but one day, out of the blue, i wake up to my phone showing the blue m logo and then a black screen and repeat.
so i tinkered around with it and searched the internet and heres what i found out:
I can get into fastboot mode but cant use any tools except for the barcode tool otherwise the phone just goes back into its boot loop. (yes i selected with the volume up key)
the phone has no power what so ever unless its plugged in. and i dont have to press anything to start the loop, it starts on its own as soon as i plug it in. the led blinks white twice and shows the m logo for about 5 seconds then a black screen and repeats once more then it is black for about 5 minutes then its goes into the loop once more.
i cant flash the stock firmware because when i plug the phone into my computer and put it in fastboot mode, the fastboot menu pops up for a mere seconds then the screen goes black and goes into the loop again.
the phone is not damaged and worked with no problems a few days back. i have been through countless websites!
any ideas?
Hi,
Can you specify if it's a 2013 or 2014 moto X.... And I will have your thread moved to your device Q&A section.
Sounds like a stuck power button to me though.
Thanks!

[Q] Moto G power up, pass the bootanimation, and then the screen goes black

Hi,
This morning, my Moto G was working normal, then suddenly, i pressed the screen around to the wifi icon to disable the wifi. And then, the screen gets all black. The cellphone power up, pass the bootanimation, but when it was to show the Android system, the lock screen, it's all black. First i thought it was the brightness, but it's not. The cellphone vibrates when i press the lateral button, make the sound of charging when i plug the usb...
Any thoughts in what it could be?
It's a XT1033 with Lollipop.

[Q] MOTO G Power button Stuck

Edit:
Ok so i guess it is not a software issue but a harware issue with the power button. It seems looser than the two volume buttons.
Anyone know how to fix that?
Hey
Sometimes my Moto G randomly restarts in my pocket without me doing anything, i have no idea why it does that but afterwards it still works fine.
Yesterday it did it again yet it didnt normaly restart and now its stuck in a Bootloop and as mentioned in the title i am not able to enter recovery mode to clear cache etc.
Ive let it sit over night to drain the battery so i can restart it in the morning. Still stuck in the loop.
It just shows the blue Motorola logo, then the screen goes black and it shows the logo again. Sometimes it does the boot animation where the logo transforms etc. but it just shuts down and restarts again after that.
I have managed to get a "flat" version of the logo and the charging batter once or twice as i tried to enter recovery but it just shut down and entered the normal bootloop again
the device is not rooted or has a custom rom. its running Stock lollipop 5.0.0/1 (not sure)
It is the german Retail version of the 2013 moto g
any help is appericiated
David
Is it under warranty?
If so I would send it off to be repaired.
If not take the back off absent unscrew the torx keys and have a look at the button see if it's wedged in.

S7 won't boot, blue LED always on.

Just some minutes ago my S7 froze because of Focus Gallery App. I don't exactly know what it did but the phone did not respond any more.
So pressing the power button did not bring back the phone either. After searching for a bit I found a way to simulate a bettery disconnect by pressing Volume Down + Power Button.
The Phone came back up and displayed the initial boot logo. Also the blue LED is on. But nothing happens from here on. I do not come to the "Samsung" boot animation and the phone simply
does nothing. Retriying Volume Down + Power Button doesn't seem to help too. I tryed all button combinations but nothing brings the phone back.
I also cannot enter the recovery menu. So no chance to reset to default settings.
I am running a stock Android on the phone. Nothing was done by me. No custom ROM, no root, just plain Samsung Android.
Is there sill something I can do?
Edit: I just got into whats seems to be ODIN Mode??? Can I do something from here?
Oddly this happened to me last night although I may have inadvertently done it. But the only way I was able to get my phone functioning again was reflashing the OS to the phone.
How did you manage to get the phone into Odin mode? I'm having the same issue with the phone being totally unresponsive but the blue LED on.
if you can reboot your phone with the VOL Down/Power, when the screen goes black, quickly press and hold VOL Up, Home and Power. it should enter recovery. or hold Vol down, Home and Power to enter the download screen.
I have the S7 Edge (rooted, custom ROM) and it's running fine. My girlfriend's regular S7 is having the same issue though.
When she plugged it in to charge last night, she checked it a few minutes later at which point the phone had (started to) reboot. The blue notification LED was on and the screen had frozen at the 'SA' from the 'SAMSUNG' startup logo. Forced a reboot with down+power, resulting in just the blue LED (no logo this time). Phone was unresponsive (couldn't force a reboot again) so left the battery to drain overnight. The phone is completely dead today even after charging - no LED, no boot, no anything.
I'm not sure if she had the phone scheduled to perform an update overnight and it froze halfway through, but that would be my first guess. So far, no fix.
