How can the answer be there if you haven't asked the question there?
I suppose what I am hinting at is the moderators have asked that we keep all L questions to that thread and not make new ones.

Well i know
But it seems i have a whole secondary file system called sdcard/0 which all my original stuff is in. Going back on 4.4.4 I've can to copy the lot back into sdcard to get everything working again, I suppose my question is more... How has this happened? Whether it's L related or not?

If you dirty flashed trying to keep your old internal storage the solution is that you need to do a complete wipe (including internal storage) and clean flash or you'll run into issues.

While bumping android versions, it's always recommended to wipe everything. Be it system or userdata. Besides that, L is a huge jump from 4.4.4 so, wiping userdata is a MUST!

Most people (that the dev preview isn't for) are just taking it as if it's a consumer release and want to keep their internal storage lol.. It won't work.

TBH, I'm sick of all this "L" hype. The forums are flooded with L threads even though there are separate official threads for it. May be I'll ignore all "L" threads for the time being.
It's a developers preview mannn! Obviously there are going to be glitches, FCs and other related stuffs. But NO! creating a new thread for each and every thing is a must!

If anything people should be grateful they even gave us a preview image, no one said they had to, and it turned out somewhat stable (with some bugs of course).

Thread closed.
All Android L related questions are supposed to go in HERE

Instruction.
Place zip on sdcard and flash in cwm based recovery.
It is designed to leave your data intact. Its designed to FORMAT system and cache.
Do not do any wiping or formating or resets before or after the flash.
Do do a nandroid back up in case you don't like it and want to go back.
Do do a tibu. Your probably due for one anyway. Good measure.
Its a ICS upgrade. Should you have a forceclose at boot up, something in data is causing it. Go back to recovery and preform a factory data reset. All will be good then.
Confirmed to work for both AT&T or Rogers.

Been waiting for a good basic ICS rom for my skyrocket. Can't wait to check it out.
Too late in the evening to do thus, but definitely will attempt tomorrow.

Thanks for your help mate.
for what its worth, the other rom posted also isnt working. maybe its our CWM? it backups and restores fine, but i dont think anything has been tested as far as flashing.
no cwm works fine, its just the roms themselves. hes getting status 0 because he has an old update-binary in there.
however you do need to be careful because the other rom (who im guessing was also using dsixdia's kitchen) was trying to use an update-script (which hasnt been able to be used since CWM 3.0, we are on 5.5.0.4 now... cwm 3.0 was out with froyo).
if you want proof of that go find something like the v6 supercharger script and flash that, or any of the many many flashable things that wont screw up your system (here is a really good one i recommend its a REALLY nioce anti theft app) or heck look in your own general section for a man that took some time making toggles for you guys http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1620918 he seems to have it flashing through cwm.
the common denominator isnt cwm, its people using rom kitchens :/ if you want to use them to speed things along thats fine, really it is... however if your starting off and thats all you use then when things go wrong (like this or the other rom thread) you dont know how to fix it because you didnt learn on how things work.. just what options make your phone go zoom zoom! please dont take this as a bashing, but more of a "the more you know" kinda **** if your serious about rom development then pick up and learn.

QFT. It's best to learn the basics first, and go from there. Kitchens are bad news - don't use them, ever preferably, and at least not until you get the basics down. You'll have troubles otherwise.

What is safe to remove?

Shoot...can't remember off the top of my head...but anything by att...if you can't tell what app it is by the apk name open the apk up in 7zip and look for the icon
There's a bunch you can remove, and you can always use other stock based roms as a reference, an easy way to find out if its needed is go to rooted stock uclb3, get titanium back up and start uninstalling apps when your done getting rid of apps rebiot and see how your doing

There's an old saying that goes something like, "Greatness innovates, but genius copies". There's another one that states that, "Immitation is the sincerest form of flattery". There's another, somewhat XDA specific, that goes, "Read/search everything on the forum, then ask a question that hasn't already been asked and answered". With that preamble,
1 - This question is probably better posed in the Q&A section. Dev section is for, well, development.
2 - Taking a direction from the above quotes, download a debloated rom, unzip it, and compare to the stock rom. Read the OPs of some of the other roms, sometimes they list all the apps that have been removed. Mostly, you'll be looking to remove things from /system/app.
3 - Read up on deodexing and zipaligning, unless you plan to use as a base a rom that already has this done.
4 - Ask permission and cite sources if you use anyone else's stuff.
5 - Google, read, research, search again, repeat...
I know it might not be totally safe, but I found these APK sheets for the SGS2.
https://spreadsheets.google.com/spr...1gdDJRekl4QmkyNmIzUmRvX2h3UDVkQXc&output=html
https://spreadsheets.google.com/spr...=0Ag43oj7rLQP4dENZcmhGN0ZUa3pHSENVeXlqUm5vV0E
I always use them as a guide when I go around trying to see what I can remove. It may or may not be totally compatible with the Infuse, but I haven't had any problems so far.
OP...this thread has been moved. Q&A threads should be created in the Infuse 4G Q&A section. Not in Development.
Finished De-Bloating, thanks for the lists dht2005. They were a big help.

Please, please, please! Read the stickies in each of this forums subsections. There you will find all the answers.
I make it a rule for myself to always read the stickies when i come to a new forum.
Of course this won't make you a developer but at least you won't be totally clueless like you are now.
Read all the stickies and you will be confident in what you are doing.
If you can't take the time to do this then you probably shouldn't be bothering with custom roms either.
Good luck.

iv read all the stickies already
none of the stickies answered the questions i just asked and iv successfully flashed the custom rom my only problem now is that im not getting any data service

[Q] Youtube weird Problem

Hi guys , I am posting here to see if someone can help me with this little problem :good:
I've recently updated my Galaxy S3 from Android 4.0.1 to Android 4.2.2 and everything went ok except for something that I going to explain now
This is my system info right now :
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",

"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
It's in Spanish but I think that is easy to read
Now my problem is this :
It mean that "video format not supported" . It's the oficial app from google , so it's kinda weird in my opinion . I tried clearing cache
Reinstalling...and the result are the same .
Now , In order to check if the problem was flash or things like that , I tried Dolphing Browser and Google Chrome , and in both devices videos runs smoth , so what I think is that the problem is the app or anything that I am missing (plan is not to use the browser..it's an extreme alternative :silly
That's all I know , in my opinion is really weird so I dont have idea how to fix this , so thanks for any kind of help (I would like not to reset for this stupid thing..but if needed...I have no choise)
Well, it appears that you are using the international version of the S3 (GT-i9300). You may have better luck finding an answer that could be related to your device at the section dedicated to your device.
Let me point you to that section: http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1563
For the record, this is the device section for the Verizon Samsung Galaxy S3 (SCH-i535), which is a U.S. variant of the phone; it is much different than the version you may have.
I know this probably isn't the ideal answer you were looking for, but you will definitely be able to have your issue looked at by people who have the same exact phone as you, as this problem isn't too common in the Verizon S3 section.
Edit: I tried to make things easier, and found the thread from where you may have downloaded your rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2248892 . Asking in there may yield better responses.
