[APP][4.3+][v2.0.1] Heads Up! - backport of heads-up notifications from Android L - Android Apps and Games

Well, well, well, my friends, here I am again.
After Google I/O I decided to bring the feature which I liked the most - heads-up notifications!
The filtering rules are pretty feature-rich - whitelist or blacklist, ignore or do not ignore ongoing notifications, hide notifications during quiet hours or when some apps are active...
The app is free with Pro-version, but for my friends on XDA the app is totally free-of-charge.
And here are some screenshots:

If you decided to buy Pro version my app - thank you! Because of you, yes, I am talking about you, I can continue my development
New in 2.0.1:

-Multiple notifications
-Hide heads-up while certain apps are active
-Quiet hours
-Bug fixes
-Material design
-Lollipop-compatible
New in 1.1:
-Disable auto-expand
-Ongoing notifications can be dismissed
-You can keep statusbar notifications while dismissing heads-up
-Transparency
-Ability to post test notification
-"Ignore silent" was removed due to a lot of problems it caused
-Added ability to ignore low priority notifications
-Whitelist/blacklist
-Show heads-up on lockscreen
New in 1.0.3:
-Added workaround for WhatsApp bug.
New in 1.0.2:
-Ability to completely ignore whitelist
-Fixed the bug where you always received message about starting the service
-Added hint when service is started
-Fixed transparent background bug
-You can change position of heads-up notification
Now, the final part - the APK!
Sadly, the app is available only on Android 4.3+ due to limitations of notifications listeners on versions less than 4.3. I've tried very hard to leverage accessibility services, but failed due to inability to recover full information about the notification.

Nothing shows up when I get a message or start music I gave it permissions and white listed app

Which Android version do you use? Is it a MIUI by chance?
Also, try rebooting the phone. Sometimes the service doesn't start for some reason(you may check it in the Running apps section).

Nevermind I restarted my phone and it worked and I'm using Samsung galaxy s4 4.4.2 everything works but there's no background on the notification unless it's supposed to look like that. . And it crashed when I double tap the notification

Well, it's not supposed to look like that. I'll see that I can do about it. What app posted that notification?

Good job! But like Swordxe, it doesn't have a background too. But it does what it is supposed to when double tapped.

Edit: Just found out it does nothing for gmail notifications.

Have you white listed gmail?
It did not reacted to Gmail notification when it arrived, or you just seen that there is Gmail notification in statusbar, but no heads-up?

Nothing shows up (HTC One M8 android 4.4.2 stock rooted rom)
Hi there,
I have aproximately same issue, i have granted permissions but nothing shows up. I must recognize i use dot view mods, may it generates a conflict, i haven't tried to disable it, it will be my next action.
But i tried what you said reboot system, and check if application process was running, then yes it was, but nothing to do, no notification appears.
Any idea?

Yes, I have shortlisted Gmail. I am waiting for a mail to arrive and check if it still does not do anything when it arrives. I will post white list and filter rules later if gmail still fails.

[APP][2.2+]JellyBean Notifications+(Trial) Facebook/Twitter/SMS: social notification!

Hello!
Some of you may know me already, I'm the developer of Scrolling Notifications.
I'm back with a new app! It has a lot of similarities with Scrolling Notifications in some social functions but this time it takes the form of a new Notification Shade, very similar visually to the one in Jelly Bean!
It has a Trial Period of 10days, I hope it's okay with the rules of this board.
You can have Notifications for your SMS (with quick-response and mark as read), Twitter, Facebook (with no signing needed if you have the official app, theoretically :silly and RSS (and maybe more in the future).

The app is available in English and french, please contact me if you want to help translate it in other languages
Feel free to give your feedback, report bugs and post suggestions! Don't worry other features and enhancements are on the way but for the first release I could not put all that I wanted.
(In case you're wondering about Scrolling Notifications a big update is coming so it integrates Facebook, some small new things coming from this app and some long due bug fixes . No ETA for this one for the moment, because I need to change some core things.)
CHANGELOG 1.3
-Added Full screen option.
-Added Start On Boot option. (activated by default)
-Added option to avoid service stop by system (activated by default)
-Added better mark as read mechanism: notifications can reappear if the service is stopped and that there were not marked as read.
-fixed a bug facebook denying connection with facebook when the official app was installed.
-corrected a bug when switching app and just after sliding down the panel would automatically slide back up
-more bug fix
Changelog 1.2
-fixed a crash with SMS when vibration is activated
-added number of days left for trial period in settings
-better layout in settings
-new option for 12/24 hour format. AM/PM was removed from the 12hour format
-new option for enabling partial panel transparency.
-new option to enable/disable blinking notifications (individual settings planned for future update)
Changelog 1.1.2
Initial Release
Hey I really love your ideas, but you other app I purchased and it has not been updated for some time. So how about giving those who purchased it a free upgrade
Sent from my HTC Sensation using xda premium
Hi, thanks for your enthusiasm!
As I said for Scrolling Notifications an update is coming with lots of stuff. Sorry it took so long but an overhaul was needed and creating this new app helped me a lot to better reorganize and improve the code and it motivated me to continue even if it's hard for me because the sells of my app don't allow me to work as much as I would want on them.
But I think you're right, the early customers who trusted me by buying my first app should be rewarded. Your idea seems feasible, I'll examine it and come back at you (and the others who previously purchased it) as soon as possible(before the end of the week I hope, in the meantime you can give a try to the app without buying it ).
Thanks for your support!
Just downloaded the app and already loving it!
Login to Twitter for the first few times got some OAuthExceptionError or some sort but managed to login now.
Hopefully this application will receive more likes and the dev will not abandon this project!
1) Eating too much ram and battery
2) Would it be possible if sliding the message away = mark as read?
3) How would I know how many days I've left using the trial? Can you push an update to show it?
4) After using for a long time, when I want to pull down the notification, it will never be pulled down. It just springs back up. tl;dr, it stopped working.
Thanks for the nice words, especially on the play store, it s encouraging!
For Twitter yes it can take 2 or 3 attempts and I m not sure if it s due to the library I m using or Twitter servers but once it s set you should not have anymore problems on this matter.
1- I will investigate the memory/battery issue any more details you could provide can help!
2-you mean for twitter or facebook? It s already the case for sms.
3-in the next update I ll show it on the main settings page, thanks for the suggestion
4-strange this should only happen on the lockscreen can you give more details?

Hahaha you deserve it.
I wonder who gave you one star. That bastard.
Yup. After authenticating, it works pretty well ^^
1) Background service is already using up 12mb Is it possible to scale it down?
2) For SMS. When I slide it away, the message icon is still there. Any possible way to remove it? Furthermore, the "New message : 1" still appears on the lock screen.
3)Thank you
4) Seems to be working now, AFTER I got one notification. Before that, it's hard to slide the notification down.
Some features request [ You don't have to do it! Just giving some suggestions to make it better ^^ ]
Whatsapp Notification [ I doubt it's possible because I heard there's no API to it? Maybe just a simple notification will do?]
Colors [ Message icon, bar icon etc etc]
Notification vibration and sounds for each individual.
Vibration pattern.
Custom sound - Using our own music.
Bug/Glitches
SMS vibrate when switched on doesn't seem to work. FC when message arrived.
.
Etc :
Alignment of text [At the "Advanced Tab", "Twitter" doesn't align with the other text"]
I'll have a go at Facebook and RSS notification as I'm currently using only SMS and Twitter updates.
Then I'll update this post again! Possible about 2 - 3 hours from now!
Hope to see some updates soon! Thank you! ^^
For the 1-star guy it's a german speaker with a desire hd, he basically says it's a good approach, the app is not bad, but not good enough to buy it and he seems to have lot of lags ( I think he speaks about sliding up and down the panel, which is not very fluid, I'll try to make it better, for example by making the background opaque by default and activate transparency via an option, and by other means). 1-star seems a bit harsh yeah .
I also added Beta in the title on the Play Store, it may be more appropriate so people don't expect it to be 100% bugfree first release, I do my best to provide a professional product but I don't have the means for the moment to test every possible configuration before release so sadly some problems are expected at the beginning . I don't know, what do you guys think ?
Previous points:
1- I'll do my best to scale it down, I have a few optimizations ideas I need to test, I don't guarantee all will come in one update but I'll make it a priority
2-For the icon, at my knowledge the only way to remove it is to disable the notifications in your SMS app, then you'll have to rely on my app for the visual icon and the notification sound/vibration (by ticking the box in the advanced options)
4-I'll take a look, the slide down mechanism can surely be improved.
Feature Requests:
-I can do the same thing I've done with my last app, allow classic notifications to be displayed by enabling the "Accessibility Service" for my app in the phone options but you won't be able to interact with these notifications except discarding it. This in my todo list but after some features I want to add to Facebook/Twitter (like pictures of contacts or articles)
-Totally do-able and will be done in a few updates
-Vibration and sounds for each notifications: will be done ASAP, this is something lacking for a release I have to admit. For custom sounds instead of the default one for sms, I'll take a look and I'll add it at the same time if it's fast to implement or a bit after otherwise (sorry it's a bit vague )
Bugs:
-I reproduced the error and found the solution, it will be in the next update
Etc:
-For the twitter text, yes I need to resize the image, there's a lot of blank space in it, that's why the text is not aligned ^^
Thanks for the report, if you want to be a beta-tester for future app, you will be welcome

What type of notifications did you choose ? (SMS/Facebook/Twitter/RSS)
For Facebook/Twitter/RSS it can take a few seconds before informations are retrieved, depending on your connection, also messages are downloaded only once so if you deleted a notification (accidentaly or not) or the app was stopped for a reason or another, it is possible that you need for new notifications to be displayed. It's not perfect on this state but I'm working on a much better system where notifications "survive" the app shutdown (which the phone can do if you use another app which is memory expensive for example).
For SMS do you have a third-party app for SMS like Go SMS or Handcent ? In this case you can try this :
Go SMS: Settings-> receive settings -> uncheck second option blocking duplicate messages
Handcent: Settings ->Application Settings -> Default Messaging Applications -> Disable
A reboot can be necessary.
But maybe your problem is elsewhere. You said the notification bar was blank, do you mean it covers your usual notification icons? Was it in the app settings? (where it should be transparent blue). Was it blinking ? The bar position in the main settings was left right or center ? Could you please provide some screenshots ?

For now sms only disabled any other sms notifications, here is what happens. It covers every thing even reboot dialog.

Ok.
Second screenshot is the normal state of the app when the notification panel is completely deployed and there is no unread sms.
First one looks like you had one message and you were pulling it down. If that's the case there s nothing abnormal, notification panel looks that empty in vanilla 4.1. Do you have difficulties pulling it back up? What is strange for you? Sorry if I m missing something.
For the reboot dialog, you'll have to pull up the notification panel first, I cannot detect when it's showing.
I've been looking high and low for something like this, thanks!

Great! Tell me if you encounter any problems!
First update is on the way with the "Vibration" fix; the text for remaining days for trial version and the fix for disappearing notifications if the service was stopped/restarted by the system.
It might take a few more hours, if my download of Black Mesa finishes before I upload the update
I don't know whether or not it is just me, but I've been noticing that when the drawer scrolls back up (like when using the settings shortcut in the drawer) it will scroll back up incredibly slow (it takes about 2-3 seconds to disappear entirely again). Also, if I try to move the drawer down while on the lockscreen, it will bounce up and down and then disappear. I've also been getting errors on facebook login, "This app is misconfigured for facebook login." These are the only issues I've encountered, other than that, I'm really liking it.

Yes the scrolling up is slow on some phones at least and it will be improved (especially for the settings shortcut).
For the lockscreen it's a known issue, and a solution will be soon added.
The facebook error is strange, I've never encountered it, when does it happen? At the first login or at random times ? Did you succeed in retrieving any facebook infos? Do you have the Facebook app installed ? (I tested on a phone with Facebook app and it worked great but it's still a good indication). Do you think you could screenshot it if it happens again ? Thanks
And by the way, what phone do you have ?
I've been using this for around two days, so far so good. I would just recommend improving the speeds of dragging up and down, and maybe removing the am/pm from the time! Jelly bean doesn't show the am or pm. Also, when I get a text, the status bar blinks on and off on top over my regular one. Is that supposed to happen?

Hello!
Thanks for reporting, speed for panel sliding on/off will be improved.
Ok for AM/PM, It's the 24h format in my language so I did notice it only yesterday when I was taking screenshots for the english version.
Yes it blinks to display the icons and their notification count because I cannot add it to the regular one for each type of notification and partial transparency or complete occlusion of what could be beneath in the original bar didn't seem to be a good solution. Well it's not perfect and I'm open to suggestions but it will be soon customizable in speed and you'll also be able to remove it.
Sorry, but may I know when the next update is coming? Any ETA? I really can't wait! Hahaha
Bug report :
RSS, Twitter etc doesn't update. Only updates the first time you activate it
Today or tomorrow for the update
I played black mesa a bit and then had a big headache maybe because of the strange head bobbing on horizontal movement... :-s.
Your problem is strange, for me RSS and Twitter work well, does it update if you click again on " activate" ?

The screen turns on when I get a notification, but the notification doesn't show up in dashclock.
Running Android 4.3 on the Nexus 4, and the notification listener service is on plus it's set up right in dashclock I believe.

I think I phrased it in a confusing manner. By persistent notifications, I meant ongoing/not clearable notifications in the notification area. Like when a music player is playing or USB connected info. I thought that could be useful, so it's in DashNotifier. If you choose and application that has such a notification, it will show up on DashClock as well.
It's not where a notification shows up in DashClock even if there are no pending notifications for the selected application. Hope this clears things out.

I use imo
It has persistent notification and on new message it shows another notification.
It your app had an option to don't show persistent notification it would be great

Checked new version, it is awesome ! Thanks
Any way to use higher res icons? The built in ones are noticeably smaller and jagged compared to icons such as the DashClock weather.
Otherwise great app!
"Wakelock: If selected, screen will be turned on when Notification arrives."
I dont like iPhoneish Notification of turning screen on.

This is a really good idea. Would it be possible to add a whitelist feature so we can choose which notifications we want to be informed about?

Awesome update, but I think we need a feature like touch or swipe to dismiss, because I can't touch through glow notification area, sometimes it's inconvenient to wait glow notification to hide, and you can refer BlackBerry playbook notification style to add more feature to your apps. Thanks for your development and sorry for my English. have a nice day.

Nice update. Thanks. But why this conflict with other notification like dynamic notification. If one is on ,other does not work.

Yes, i have some plans for that.
No problem. Please provide more options.
This has potential to be a really great help if a few things can be sorted out.
The blacklist idea is ok but the list of apps should be in alphabetical order and exclude apps already selected
An opt in option would be better as at present the app seems to pick up all sorts that I don't care about
An option to clear the glow would be great as I don't always want to look at the notifications source straight away
As I say this app is a really good idea and I hope that these thoughts are of some help!

[APP][5.0+] Memo Reminders - Easy and Powerful reminders in the notification bar

Introduction
Often forgetting to do or get something? You need quick memo or reminder without the hustle? Try "Memo reminders".
How does it work?
"Memo reminders" creates Android notifications which can be seen in notification drawer. Easily accessible, always there.
Specially with Android 5 where notifications are also shown on the lock-screen, you will see you quick memos or reminders every time when you check your phone.
Don't want them on the lock screen? No worries, there is option for that.
Perfect for making quick grocery list before going to shop.
Just swipe it away when done.
Personally I'm using it mostly for creating grocery list before going to shop or to remind myself to do something during day/s when I will time.
I also made Chrome Extension that replaces your new tab page where can create reminders and you will see them each time you open new tab.
And there are widgets to make your new tab page more useful. You can get it from the Chrome Web Store.
Features
Highly customizable: set icon, short text, add longer description if needed
Show reminders only when unlocked
Keeps history of your memo reminders
No ads
Nice and clean design (I think)
Add actions on reminders - Customize the action when you tap on the notification. You can set the action to dial number, prepare SMS text or email someone, navigate to your destination, open website if you need to book tickets, launch application(ex. launch Camera app for #SelfieOfTheDay)… you name it!
Not enough space for description? Use Emojis!
Saves you time and effort.
"Read contacts" permission is added to prevent crashing when picking contacts on some Sony and HTC devices.
No personal information is collected.

---Version 1.0.1
- Added "Read contacts" permission to prevent crashing when picking contacts on some Sony and HTC devices.
- Fixed other small bugs and crashes.
I'm so forgetful that it's for sure going to be handy ^^
I'll try for a little while then buy it if it suits me.
Thanks for your work!
First of all:
This app is simple and powerful, yet still manages to be beautiful at the same time. :good:
I suppose it wasn't intended for this, but would it be possible to include a Time-Date/Location reminder?
Otherwise this app is perfect for me and I already use it very often, that reminder thing is the only thing that prevents me to completely switch from Google Keep
Keep up the good work
One issue I noticed, when I attempt to setup a reminder to call a contact it crashes the app. I can successfully setup a call to a number manually imputed, though. I am using an HTC one m7 unrooted.
**Edit: it appears Any request to connect to the address book crashes the app... I just got the same result from setting a message to be sent from a contact.
Also, one suggestion : I'd love to see the option to only show the shortcut in the statusbar (without being on the lockscreen). I think clutter on the lockscreen in Android 5 is a real problem for a lot of people.
Thank you for the great app and taking the time to read my suggestion. ?

This is a beaitful material-based app with an awesome functionality. Everything works just fine.
One question: is it normal or desired that if you unlock the phone the reminders "jump" under the notifications?
Nevertheless awesome app :good:
@drashko
Great idea and beautifully simplistic.
Ideas for consideration:
- Repeat reminder on a set day(s)
- Reminder during set hours

Scheduling reminders is planned to be added in future, about the location, I'll consider it. General idea for the application is to be very simple to use.

This is an essential tool.
It is simple and effective.
I like how you can change the icon for the reminder so it shows on top screen to jog your memory with a simple glance.
If you can support split screen for Samsung note devices it would be awesome. No need tho.
I wouldnt be surprised if samsung, apple, Google come knocking on your door.
Awesome job ???
thanks
good tool

[MOD] [APP] [N 7.+] [ROOT/NON ROOT] [UPDATE:- 05.12.2016] Quick Tile Settings App

Hello friends
I was searching for a good quick tiles edit app for stock Open Beta 8 non rooted device and i found one finally. All other apps i have tired have some bugs . But this one is perfect. My first aim is save my volume button and alert slider button. In stock roms there is no option to select silent , vibrate , normal quick tiles . After find this app i got all tiles i need.
This will work in rooted and also non rooted devices. Only rooted users can add Screenshot , Reboot , Poweroff tiles to quick settings. Non rooted users can add other useful tiles such as Sound, Volume etc etc...
Its completely not my work. I am just sharing it here from Pixel XL thread with the full permission of the original developer. Simply try this and if u like it means please do not hesitate to press the THANKS button for the original developer.

1. As mentioned, the previous version does contain the same code for ringer toggle and devices status ... I´ve double checked and not a single line of code is different in the relevant classes, so it´s very unlikely that your issue is related to the current version.
2. Even if 1.5.1 would cause your issue, I would rather fix this in the current version, than go back to an older version .... would be a support nightmare.
3. My security policy regarding APKs is simple: NEVER EVER RELEASE AN APK! PERIOD! ... It´s a simple rule to protect users, because there is only one secure way to get QuickTile and this is Google Play. Every APK you find is not authorized and could contain all kinds of harmful code.
So how should we handle this:
I can not reproduce your issue, but you can send me a log file and I will have a look ... beside that, I didn´t receive feedback from any other user, regarding this issue, so would be nice if other users (with the same device + rom ) would report back if the device status ringer link and the ringer toggle work on their devices ....
