Right. So I rooted my phone and flashed cyanogen mod 11. On 2 occasions I nearly had heart failure because I thought I'd bricked my phone. However I didn't and am successfully running the ROM no problems. The thing is I don't really like it and wish to go bk to stock. It goes without saying I did a nandroid back up but I kept getting an error while trying to restor using the nandroid backup and have been stuck with this ROM I don't like for a good month. I've read that I can revert to stock using Odin but am scared to do so as it was scary enough flashing this ROM yet alone undoing it.
Does anybody know of anywhere or anyone that could do this for me. I live in the uk, manchester.
Any help seriously apprexiayed.
Thanks guys.

Yes you are right you need odin to flash stock firmware.....just download it from sammobile.com and flash it via odin and you are good to go......but you will lose root after flashing stock?
Hit thanks if it helped?

My theory is that you flashed the stock ROM from the wrong device. But we will never know if that is correct or not.
I put my phone back to stock all the time. Many people do. There's not problem with it. Your problem was caused by some mis-step. Sorry I was not able to help you solve it fast enough!
ya I've actually went back to stock from being rooted it was pretty easy ..I just used one of the tutorials on the nexus s development

the first method I had used was the SIMPLEDL720.exe? IM not sure the exact name but I used that to try and flash it back..
it broke at that point. Couldnt make calls or send texts.. everything else worked. 4G, 3G, Internet, Market..
i tried rerooting and flashing CM7 again.. still the same issues.
Im assuming its that .exe file that killed the phone.
perhaps I shoulda tried odin first :/

No, there is no need to get so complicated. Just flash stock ROM through ClockworkMod Recovery, just like you would flash any other ROM.
my objective was to return to complete stock.
like if u had an epic and you used ODIN, it would eliminate root and cwm and return the phone to its original state..
if i wanted to flash another rom I would have done so lol...
wasnt what i was trying to do at the time.
ODIN works perfectly for me all the time, maybe you were trying to load the wrong data for your device? Id be happy to post the ODIN and the associated files to get you back to out-of-box condition, in case you have to in the future.
**Assuming your device came out-of-box with GRH78?
So just like that gentlemen, my SGT 7 Plus seems to be giving me trouble. It randomly shut off today and then wouldn't boot up again until I tried about 7 or 8 times. The tablet itself is great and I had no complaints with the build quality. I'm guessing it's just a lemon; will get it replaced.
Just wondering if I can ask if there's some way to unroot the device. I'm guessing I can just replace the stock recovery by using the back-up that was made during the CWM flash.
I think you could also just do a restore via kies.

Thanks! I'll just wait for some more suggestions before I go ahead. I've never used KIES before to be honest. All my previous devices have been HTC. I bought a Galaxy S II and never looked back.
How exactly do you restore via KIES? Is there something I should know about at the risk of soft-bricking it?

use odin3 to restore one of the stock images that are posted in the development section. there are instructions there. I've done it at least 10 times - works fine
Thanks! Gary suggested I do the same. Good to know it works.
is there any visual mark like yellow or blue triangle on the boot screen (like other samsung device do) on GT7+ that saying our device has been flashed?
I heard samsung has a flash counter, and Im afraid if I flash even if it's stock firmware (if the counter truly exist and visually appear) the warranty will be void...
Could somebody confirm this? I'd like to avoid complications with returning the device..

Why would there be complications? Its the stock rom, any flashing is STILL the stock rom. if you boot up odin it will say no to custom binary download and also samsung official. You should be good.

Nothing that I can see, but I am no expert. I don't know what would be indicated when and if we get custom roms, but the stock ROM flashing does not appear to be flagging anything. Just as a fair business practice I don't see Samsung denying service/warranty for loading the firmware THEY provide. Custom, yes. Stock, no.
I just flashed the one click ics leak. it worked okay, but it wasnt stable enough for me. So i want to go back to Gingerbread and wait for the official release. Im new to this rooting stuff. This was actually my first time doing it. So if someone could give me step by step directions ide greatly appreciate it. Im not stupid but i am new. I tried one way on getting back to stock http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1342348 it worked but it wouldnt let me update to 3.6 for one and two it tripped my flash counter !!!! so now im screwed on my warranty. Look, all i want is to go back to stock. please help me guys. Step by step and links please. thanks.
Did you Odin the original recovery? Or do you still have CWM? If you still have CWM you can use the file from this link to reset your flash counter. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1575712

The only thing i know hoe to do it pull up odin, put the tar file in pda and hit start. But i used the one click thigh for the ics i flashed. The one click is different then odin. But does anyone have just a stock file? Like completely stock like nothing ever happened? When i get back to stock or if i get back to stock cant i just recover my back-up? lol plz and thank you guys

This is what happens when you don't read and just start flashing away with the first thing you can find. I wanna help, but I almost feel like I shouldn't. I mean, if you just read the stickies you would know how to fix this.
If u look through the threads I believe Konane has a thread for returning to stock..but there is a way..not sure of the exact step order but using Odin flash stock tar file then the reset flash count...then the stock recovery..I'll look to see if I can find a link.

what?
i didnt start flashing away. i backed out of rooting 5 times before i did it because i COMPLETLY sure on what i was doing. and i already did the konan tutorial and yes it does work. but it wont let you get at&t updates. and thats a big problem. from what i was reading about konan's tar is that it wasnt a official stock gingerbread. i went to sammobile to get the official stock file. and i did but the file is in MD5 format and i wasnt sure if i could just put that in odin under pda and go about or not. you guys know? but i DID do sooo much reading and researching before i rooted. thanks guys i really appreciate it. you have no idea

Yes you can, sammobile is complete. Just extract from the zip and flash in odin
I had to install cwm to my device after flashing back to stock and flash the uckk1 radio and use the reset flash counter zip. Then I flashed stock cwm in Odin rebooted and was able to receive the update to 2.3.6. Which breaks wallpaper scrolling. My only grip about it.
Just flash the stock radio that will solve your problem of not receiving ota updates.

read this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1652398, it will tell u had to restore to stock and might reset ur counter, if counter is not reset there is a fix for that too now
Ok so Ive decided to head back to stock. While all this is flashing and what not is fun and maybe invigorating to some, its gotten me worried that my phone is going to explode in my hand or something. I just dont want to cause any problems with my new shiny phone. Can you tell my noob-ness level? lol So Im running CR 2.5 and LiquidSmooth before that. While there is nothing wrong with CR im just too nervous every time I see something unusual.
I have a nandroid BU of Stock with root and unlocked BL and CWM flashed. If I format system, Format data, Format cache and restore that nandroid. Im back to stock ROM and everything with root, correct?
If I choose to unroot, do I have to use ODIN, or is there another way? I pretty much want to go back to getting OTAs but dont want to loose all my Apps. Can I stay rooted, then lock the bootloader and accept OTAs?
Now I also have BUs in TB and MYBackup. If I choose to unroot how do I get my backups restored if Im not rooted?
What are my best options? Suggestions, links are greatly appreciated?
Anybody?

Yes me! So first of all there are the OTA's in the development section I believe. And you can just flash the OTA to your rooted device description is in the forum. Second If you would want to get back to stock non rooted the best way would be to ODIN also don't forget to reset the flash counter if you needed to return the device to verizon or anything.
Also you can find the latest stock rooted in the development section with all OTA's included. I wouldn't un-root if I were you just because of all the good stuff that is possible with root.
And I just want to tell you that your pretty safe your phone won't explode or anything like that. just make sure you follow the instruction correctly and your phone shouldn't over-heat or drain the battery so on. And even if something drain's the battery check the section where you downloaded the ROM from and you will find the solution easy as 1-2-3.
Use the little search button upper corner on the right hand side if you have any questions in the verizon GS3 section of course and you will find everything you need.
If I have a little time later today, I will link you the OTA's and the latest stock-rooted ROM if you can't find it.
Hello,
I'm truly hoping someone can help me. I spent all night installing new roms on my phone. Ok let me back up. This is bout the tenth phone I've rooted. I rooted my blaze about 2 months ago using a one step(I think can't remember.) I never really installed a custom Rom until last night. The first Rom I installed was cm10, which I liked. Only problem was I couldn't mount my sd card because I am no where near a computer. So I decided to install the baked Rom. I was ecstatic to find that everything worked. However, the cm10 Rom seemed to be running at the same time. I found that very weird. So I tried to figure out a way to get the cm10 off my phone. For hours I tried wiping and reformatting different things from recovery. My problem is the last time I rebooted my blaze out wouldn't go past the Samsung screen. I've tried all combos of the volume up down and power key and it never goes past Samsung. I'm assuming I've bricked my. It will show the battery charging screen. 1st it'll show the stock screen then the baked screen for charging. Please help me. I've searched xda for help and can't find anything to help.
Ps. I'm not at a computer now but please list help for when I'm able to get to one. And yes I've only gotten about 3hrs of sleep in the last 20hrs from messing with my phone.
Sorry for posting in development first meant to post here.
Odin to stock uvlh5. From sammobile.com/firmware
Edited... because I speak without thinking
^ what he means is download the stock ICS ulvh5 firmware from sammobile.com/firmware for the blaze/sgh-t769 and flash it on Odin.

Thats why I have the sammobile firmware and odin on a backed up. I've tried to learn from my mistakes well that's what I have learned a lot here hahahaha
Oh i remember reading you are not around a PC a lot... you need a PC for ODIN sounds like you can't get into recovery so PC only other way I know of. If I helped push thanks
