[Completed] help an idiot, gain some karma - XDA Assist

is there anywhere with a step by step method of rooting a galaxy s3 with single syllable words and big pictures detailing exactly what i need to do? ive spent literally 6 hours to get to the error message "setsockopt() failed:bad adress. this device is not supported. kallsyms_addresses search failed" followed by "unfortunately, root failed, press any key to continue" i have the drivers installed, the adt bundle thing, and now im stuck. please, take pity on the fool and explain in small words and large pictures what needs to be done. im certain there is an easy fix that would take mere seconds to put in place, but i cant find it.
oh, and im using saferoot.

Hi
I can suggest you to see and follow this => How to Root the Samsung Galaxy S III – XDA Developer TV
and follow this guide => HOWTO] Rooting + Wiping + Flashing : For the ultimate noob.

So it's a special version of the SGS3.
And holding Volume DOWN + HOME + POWER keys does not work any more?
Have a look here: Samsung Galaxy S III I9300, I9305 Galaxy S III I9305 (4G LTE + 2GB RAM) > Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting > [Q] Rooting Galaxy S III SCL21.
There are some useful links to hopefully fix your bricked phone.
Else you may ask in the Samsung Galaxy S III I9300, I9305 Galaxy S III > Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting > [HELP THREAD] Galaxy S3 Ask any question. thread ... but it's originally for the international variants of the S3.
Good luck :fingers-crossed:

If neither download mode nor recovery mode is working, your device is hard-bricked.
AFAIK only a mainboard replacement can fix this.
But ask in the linked threads/forums before spending the money for a hardware replacement in a service center.
If you are still on warranty, feel lucky

[Completed] [Q] help rooting

I need help with rooting my device with ODIN.
I am totally new to rooting and when i try to root my device (Galaxy s3 (Sprint)) i set PDA, all is well, until i get a popup on my pc with the device not recognized on it, and when i click start it just says "(succeed 0/failed 0)"
One time it kept spamming
the added & removed ID/COM
I have developer mode on as well as usb debugging
I really have no clue whats next, i am also running KitKat 4.4.2 if it helps.
How do i get it to work?
Hi there,

[Completed] [Q] Development issue on galaxy gt5830i

Hi, i was trying to install stock ROM on galaxy gt5830i (ace) because it was bricked, and i accidentally installed the ROM of galaxy gt5570i, now im stuck i tried to go download mode using adb (since i cant use buttons its a different ROM) and could only go to recovery, now im stuck in recovery since there's no choice to press, volume up works as volume up and home button work as volume down, the volume down button doesn't work at all, and i cant make selection using either or using power button, im stuck in recovery and no option to use Odin, i literally bricked the phone, any help would be appreciated, thanks!
Hi,
Flashing files not made for exact model of device can often lead to a brick unfortunately. Must always be careful and read read read before doing anything.
However, I would ask for opinions from members who own your device, here...
> Legacy & Low Activity Devices > Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830, S5830i, Ace II > Galaxy Ace S5830i Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting > [FAQ][HELP THREAD]Ask any questions here about s5830i/c/m/9i
Good luck!

[Completed] galaxy s3 block

hello today i have download cyanlock from xposed and have i reboot there is no lockscreen and the background changing to black an every 2sec (i am on PAC ROM galaxy s3 4g)
Ps: sory for m'y english
PS2: m'y recovery bugging and reboot when i am trying to boot on recover
button
all m'y phisical Work
Hi,
I'd say flashing the rom will remove xposed, but if your recovery isn't working... That is a problem. So you may need to flash your stock firmware again. Be sure you use the files for your exact model and use this guide,
> Samsung Galaxy S III I9300, I9305 > Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting > [Guide]Odin Flash Guide
If you want to ask about other options.... You'll need to ask here,
> Samsung Galaxy S III I9300, I9305 > Galaxy S III I9305 (4G LTE + 2GB RAM) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting
Good luck!
