If you have old file, do to twrp, mount system, open file manager, copy framework-res.apk to system/framework and reboot from twrp

Look i don't know how to use twrp ..
Maybe you can guide me?
Thanks
After mount system go to advanced, then file manager. Press back button if twrp ask something when you press advanced, and you will see all options. Search in file manager apk. Press once the apk file and then copy. After that navigate to system/framework and paste copyed file

You can also set permissions right for framework-res with twrp file manager.

Use a file explorer (e.g. Root Explorer or ES). For some incomprehensible reason danalo considers Google Talk bloatware and doesn't keep it installed in his rom. It should be somewhere in the system/apps folder as a .bak file. Just rename it back to the .apk and you should be good to go.
Yep just goto /system/app with Root Explorer (or similar) and rename 'Talk.apk.bak' to 'Talk.apk'. Reboot and it should appear.
I've pulled it out of system and installed it as a user app so I don't have to reinstall every release.

Make sure u click that "mount R/W" button in the folder you're in. If you can't you're not rooted.

Is there any way for me to extract system apps from firmware, like file manager, and install it or use it as usual apk?
Try titanium back up. Back up your fw, install any desired system app on another compatible fw using restore...
Did it a couple of times for music app & calculator..

Just extract the ROM's tar file using 7-zip etc. then use MagicISO to extract the System.rfs file. You'll find all the system apps in app folder.

I tried that, but when I installing application on device I see: "App is not installed"
You'll have to make it a system app. Do it via Titanium Backup or using any File Explorer with root functionality (Set permission as rw-r--r--).

Set permissions and lib files may be necessary. Place lib files in /system/lib or something like that

Still can't see it...
accidentally deleted system UI. on rooted tranformer tf700 4.2.1 I'm missing the status bars and home key etc... I assume I need to re-install the apk. Can someone post or send it to me... I would greatly appreciate it. I have a keyboard so I have limited functions... probably enough to get it installed.
thx!

OK in the attached zip you need to extract it to your sd and then copy the 2 files SystemUI.apk and SystemUI.odex into the /system/app folder and then set the permissions as 644 or rw-r--r--
Good luck!

You need to make sure you give esfile explorer root permissions. First turn on root explorer in tools on the left and then hit the word root explorer and set everything to RW - it'll work then.

You will need t reboot if you haven't already....
Other option is download the full rom from the ASUS website, unzip to the root of your internal sd and let that flash from stock recovery. You'll lose everything but it will get you back up.
Okay, so one of the issues currently with the leaked firmware is that some apps (e.g titanium backup, file explorers, etc) cannot save files to the extsdcard due to a incorrect parameter in the platforms.xml
So here is the fix:
Method 1
1.) Download the extsdcardfix-flashable.zip below and save to sdcard
2.) Reboot to recovery (CWM/TWRP)
3.) Flash the zip
4.) Reboot
Method 2
1.) Download the platform.xml.zip attatchment and extract
2.) Navigate to ~/system/etc/permissions
3.) Replace the platforms.xml with this one
4.) Set permissions as RW-R--R-- (644)
5.) Reboot and test if apps now have access to external storage
And NOTE this may or may not work so do so at your own risk!

I use "ES File Explorer". The best Tool for Filemanipulation (copy, paste, delete) I know.
Can You upload me original platform.xml? I change file and i have error...
after i replaced file i missed that permissions changed... then i had to reset default to get everything working :/ bluetooth stopped working and i had terrible glitches and freezes.. even when i changed to 644... so secont time i just added media_rw line by editing permissions.xml and now it worked flawlessly
I noticed that even now when i have rw acces to sdcard not everything is working as in 4.3 - for example solid explorer does not see by default external sdcard :/ but it is only beta so i can live with it
Works like a charm!
Thx for this
Works. thank you so much

Thank you very much!!!
Works perfect! This is what I needed to really give CM a try.
I was able to get my Go Backup file and restore my apps.
Sorry,
But how can I do the step 4?
I changed the file, but I don't know how change these permissions...
Could someone explain it to me, please?
Ps.: sorry for bad english.

What explorer are you using? On most of them you just have to long press the file and it will display the menu option (copy, move, delete, PERMISSIONS).
Click on permissions and you will find where to check the option you need to make RW-R-R.
I use Root Explorer by the way.
Ok,
So I change only the permissions of platforms.xml file?
Is that right?

I just realized that the default gallery app is not installed on my phone. I can't remember if I somehow uninstalled it or if it was removed after updating my phone. My Galaxy core is on stock 4.1.2 and I've rooted it. How or where can I get the default 4.1.2 gallery app;?

In system/app the .odex file was already there. However, i tried copying both files to the /app dir and they fail to copy. I also tried to simply install the app and it also fails. I'm puzzled.

You need root explorer (assuming the device is rooted). Do not install it, but copy it to /system/app, set permissions, restart phone. Everything until restarting is done in root explorer.
Strange thing happens. I've downloaded the files to my extsdcard, I copy them to system/app and I then browse the files to make sure they're there and only the odex file is present. I'm using Root File Manager.

I think the odex file was already there, just the apk was deleted.
Actually, I don't know what's wrong. Try a different root explorer/root file manager to MOVE these two files to the system/app directory. Also before that, you have to mount the system partition as R/W, not R/O. U can do that in adb (command "adb remount") or with this app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.speedsoftware.rootexplorer&hl=lt (I'm sure there are other ways to do that, but I prefer these two).
I'll give it a try
