Hi,
I was on a locked 9.18.79 device.
managed to flash Kitkat using Samurai script generator KEEP DATA script.
rooted using towel root, unlocked using motocalispe APK.
flashed TWRP 2710.
on the first day it was great, than random reboots began.
I factory reset the phone, which helped for a day, than again, random resets.
im freezing a few programs using Titanium backup pro,
but didnt delete anything.

Whenever I attempt to boot up the phone with a custom rom on it, the first boot seems normal and all, but then it will suddenly freeze and not do anything. I have seen threads with this issue but with no answers, and I was hoping I could get some help here. Sorry if I'm lacking details, I'm not super Android savvy. Thanks.

Do you deleted all user data (Factory reset)?
If no, do that! If the problem appears again, restore your NANDROID backup (You did a backup, didn't you?)
And if the problem isn't gone reflash your firmware using KDZ Updater (Your LG will be unrooted)

I've already recovered my phone and apps. When I have the defaut Froyo (rooted) on my phone, it boots fine, but whenever I try to load a custom rom, the first boot-up lasts forever.

My main question is are there currently any working methods to root my phone from 4.1.1
BackStory:
I rooted my phone about 4 months ago successfully. about a month ago i started getting update notifications from VZW to update to 4.1.1 Which would have been great since i was looking forward to jellybean.
Unfortunately their update kept failing. so i decided this morning to use Synergy and just run a custom rom. Followed all the instructions and everything went very smoothly while playing around with my new rom i decided to reboot to test the speed of the boot time. upon reboot im greeted by the VZW soft brick screen.
So i then followed the instructions listed here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1840030
To restore my phone to factory default. which was fine i don't really mind losing my data nothing that isn't backed up on Google.
I decided to fully update the phone and then try to re-install the synergy rom but i cant seem to find any detailed threads on the subject.. Help?

I think i actually locked it after i finished the install. And then restarted, do softbricks occur when you re-lock your bootloader?
Also another question..is there any way to check the /system /data partitions from inside the phone (terminal app maybe?) are correctly set to r/w over r/o (i don't like unplanned installs )
Soft bricks always occur on a locked bootloader. There are file managers that can do that like solid explorer.

Hi folks, this is my first thread in this section of the forum, because i was using my old device LG p500 and now i moved to this wonderful smartphone. So, i'd like to solve this problem which is happening now. Basically, the phone unexpectedly stops, and reboot. It happens a couple of times, i guess 3 times in a week. It wasn't happening in ICS, just now that i upload from OTA to Jelly Bean. Note that this was happened while my phone was Unrooted and with Locked Bootloader, the same occured with root and unlocked bootloader. So, any clue? Maybe i should just change the rom, or clean everything as fast as i can.
Thank you.

If you took the OTA then you are sol and will not be able to unlock your bootloader to flash a custom recovery or a rom the traditional way. There is safestrap but thats less than optimal for flashing. As far as the reboots go, it is probably an app that is causing the issues. I would do a factory reset and be selective about the apps I re-installed.

What are you saying? I'm already unlocked bootloader and flashed a custom recovery and it's been working normally.

Sorry I must have glazed over the part about you having your bootloader unlocked.
Hi, i changed to the SlimRom since then and the reboots still happen, i'm very frustrated. It freezes, then reboot into the bootloader screen and stays there for ever until i press the power button for a while and the phone vibrate 3 times and after that it boot normally.
I have a Droid MAXX that is rooted and running 4.4 KitKat.
It is becoming unstable (battery draining when tethered instead of charging, power off doesn't work and reboots instead, etc), and I just want to return it to stock, but keep root and wp/off.
I've currently backed up my apps (Titanium) and copying that off device, plus cloning a copy of the /sdcard contents off device as well.
Is there anything else I need to do? Should I use the recovery's factory restore? Do I need to flash something instead?
(Is this all a waste of time? )
Just do a normal factory reset. That's what I just did

Ok. Factory reset worked and kept root. But things like 'power off' didn't work (it still reboots), so I thought things were messed up worse.
Then I decided to use House of Moto to flash. Silly me. I should have known better. Flashed just fine, still had no write protect, but now I have no root. Super SU won't install a 'su'.
And it STILL reboots when you use 'power off' from the power button menu.
So, Factory Restore? Yes, then reinstall SuperSU.
House of Moto flashing back to 4.4? No, 'su' gets removed so you lose root, but you still have wp disabled.

FDR is just that data reset not system fxz resets the system that's why you lost root. IMHO FDRis for apps acting up or if PlayStation won't allow you to install an app. System issues are rarely fixed without an fxz. Since you lost root I would just fxz again and see if it fixed the problem. If not then what fxz are you using full or save data.
I would call for a replacement phone. Hopefully you'll get one with 4.2.2 and you'd be able to try the root method again. Instead of waiting for an exploit for 4.4. :/

Question. So I also have a Droid Maxx rooted on 4.4 and I am selling it. Just to be clear, do i need to backup anything or are you saying all I would need to do is just do a factory reset and the new owner would just install SuperSU and they will still have root?
ive been running alliance rom, for quite a while, at least a year without issue, recently though every time i reboot it freezes at the samsung logo. if i factory rest and wipe all data i can use my phone again, and appears to run fine. but as soon as i reboot or shut down it hangs again. tried to reinstall alliance rom but i get an error. im afraid to do anything now in fear of having a phone that doesnt work at all. any ideas?
i tried flashing the rom again from scratch and still had the problem. not sure what to do now. never encountered this problem before.

Did you make a backup of your stock rom? If so, I would restore it and see if the problem persists. If not, try another rom or the same rom again.
