The newly introduced Android wear devices/watches are compatible with N5, or just the LG G Watch?
All devices which run Android Wear should work perfectly. You can check your phone's compatibility by opening this link in your phone's browser: g.co/WearCheck

Heya, I've ordered a Sony Smart Watch and was wondering, if there's a way to install common Android apps, since it's a normal android OS afaik.
hi, you install apps for the watch via the smartphones playstore. eg endomondo sports pro install on phone, install smartwatch addon and it pushes the app to the watch.
there are heaps of smartwatch apps on the playstore.
cheers
Paul
how long it's battery life could hold
Sent from RAZR MAXX on MIUI V5
It does not run android, and cannot run apps that aren't built for it
Actually, the apps run on your phone, not on the watch. That's why the connection is needed.

Its not running a normal Android OS afaik. Its running a uC/OS-II OS according to the teardown here: http://www.cmw.me/?q=node/59.
Besides, the battery wouldn't last 5 minutes, and the CPU won't be able to handle it haha.
When originally purchasing my Huawei 2 Classic it said its OS was android wear 1.1 I then went to update the watch through the settings and it said it was up to date. After this, I attempted to manually install android wear 2.0 and was met with a red exclamation mark when booting into recovery mode from fastboot. Now when entering settings there isn't even an Android wear version. Am I missing something here or can the watch not get android wear 2.0?
Android Wear was rebranded Wear OS and with that new versioning. Thus Wear OS 1.0 ( and now 1.1) is newer then Android Wear 2.0.
Is there a messaging app I could install on my Galaxy Note 8 that would have full functionality across all platforms (Tizen, Android, and Wear OS)
Android Messages is by default on HW2 and I am almost sure its compatible with Android Phone version. (Smart Watches use Android too, WearOS is a special GUI while apps are much less intensive on battery/cpus). Not sure about Tizen...
Hi,
I got a Fossil Gen.6 Smartwatch and struggled a lot to pair it with my Oneplus 8 Pro (OOS12 + UB + Root). Staying on the setup screen on the watch is very frustrating, and hopefully, i found a workaround.
I browsed the web a lot and have seen this fix only once, so i intend to share it widely to raise awareness. I also posted it on Oneplus Community forums.
Issue :
At first boot, the watch asks to download Wear OS by Google on a phone. In my case, if i download Wear OS from the Play Store, the app keeps saying "An error occured while finding devices" and i can't setup the Watch. Is the watch shy ? Why won't she come up to the phone ?? Is my phone wrong ? Did i get a defective watch out of factory ?? Many questions the google help page won't answer... You can read the Google troubleshooting guide on your phone but none of these tips work (to me)...
Fix :
Just uninstall Wear OS from your phone, and install this one from here or use the apk attached
Virustotal check here
It seems using Wear OS 2.0.0, (Android Wear at the time), works slightly better !
Before the setup with Android Wear, don't forget to factory reset / unpair the Watch if you connected it to another phone before (for me it worked on a P30 Lite but i don't own the device..). Once the setup is done and you have access to the watch, you can update Android Wear to Wear OS though Play Store
I have no clue if it's phone related, android OS version related, app permission related but this may work on other smartwatch too.
Creds to a redditor on an old thread
Cheers
Hi Guys,
Please advise how can I use Samsung CameraCorol app on my Galaxy Watch 4, my mobile device Samsung Galaxy A 71, running Android 13 (OneUI 5) official. Non rooted.
So you don't have a camera app companion in the watch? I do and when I open the camera app in the watch, I can see what the phone's camera is looking at and control it.
Its this what you are looking for? I have the watch 4 and S22 ultra, both updated with last official versions, but this was available from the beginning in UI 4.1.

It is possible, but I didn't see the camera companion app in the list, because it's normally already installed

But it is not available in my watch. I have already installed latest update.
It loads on the watch4 if your phone supports it. More than likely your phone does not support the companion app.
