[Completed] help please - XDA Assist

Hi can anybody help me to find the right custom rom for my phone ?
S10 4.5" Capacitive Touch MTK6572 Android 4.2.2
Dual Core 512MB RAM 4GB ROM
ive managed to root my phone but i can't find any thing please help.

Hello @JefeEl
At the moment there is no custom ROMs for this particular device.
It does however have an MTK processor which is used in other devices, thus it should be able to port another device's custom ROM to yours. See this thread: Mediatek Porting. The OP states that it is possible to port ROMs from MT6582 to MT6572 and you should be able to port MT6572 ROMs from other devices to yours even easier. This Device uses the exact same SoC and should be a good candidate for your first port.
This does require a bit of research and time but is at the moment your only option.
Cheers!

I don't think you can find a 'universal' ROM because every device has different hardware and stuff. What you can do is find a device with specifications similar to yours (screen resolution, CPU etc) and then port a ROM from that device to yours. There are many good guides here that tell you how to do that.
try cyanogenmod they are pretty universal at this point
Anyone here using P970 with Avatar ROM?

since its a different soc it is most likely that your device will brick, you should make a nandroid backup and find a custom rom for your phone or at least same soc

[Q] [Help] [New Device] I need help creating a ROM for my new phone

Hello everyone! I am a little new to this, so please take it easy on me. I have actually never created my own Android ROM via the AOSP, but I have opened up Zip files for ROMs other developers have created and have been able to do basics.
I recently bought this device: MPie G7 (gearbest . com/cell-phones/pp_76182.html)
As you can all tell, it is not exactly a very popular phone. So, finding source code for this phone's ROM is basically, impossible. I have also been unable to find the manufactures website address either (anyone have any ideas?).
Anyway, here are my very noob questions. I am obviously planning on hitting base with the AOSP code, but with Lollipop. This poses a new problem to me, because I cannot find the source code, how am I supposed ot create a kernel specific ROM? This thing runs on a MTK, most precisely: MTK6582. It came with Android 4.4.2 (KitKat).
I am also worried about one small other thing, which is the gestures. If my phone is on standby, screen is off, I can do gestures on the off screen to do certain things. Similar to the OnePlus One. But, I am worried I will not be able to do that if I build my own ROM from source.
Anyone have suggestions? Or can possibly help? Thank you very much. All your help is appreciated!

Why don't you list down some of the specifications of your phone and compare them with other mediatek devices!!!
That way if u have the stock ROM of the phone then u can port ROMs from another mediatek device like xolo q700i which has a dedicated thread!!! xolo q700i has many different number of ROMs !!! That way by zip based theming and porting you might be successful in at least creating a ROM for yourself which u can use as a base for different roms!!!
The way I see it if you don't have source or downloadable ROM from your OEM, you have two options:
- like @thecoolster said you could try flashing ROMs from similar devices, and hope you don't end up stuck with a soft brick.
- or, likely your device can be easily rooted (in the settings perhaps?) if it isn't already. Then you can make nandroid to give yourself a stock ROM to cook.
Actually porting your ROM from a developer device tree and AOSP or CM is hard if you are only a hobbyist cook.
Even with a cooked ROM, you'd need a recovery that lets you flash it or you'd have to use SP flashtool and make your own config files for the flash.

[Q] verykool Spark II s5015 ROM Question

Hello,
With the recent Android M coming out soon, I wanted to try to find a custom ROM to flash onto my Android Phone. It's the VeryKool Sparks II s5015. However, being as it's not very much supported, I'm having issues finding ROM's etc for Lollipop custom builds. Does anyone have any idea's where I could get one? Or what? CM 12 doesn't appear to be compatible.
hey bro, your phone it's compatible but there are no developers working on your specific device, thats the reason for that you can't find a ROM... Whatever your phone have MTK Chipset, install cpu-z app from playstore and see what model is. example mine device is mt6572. when you sure know your device chipset can download custom rom from here: http://_www.mtkroms.com_/ and here: http://_www.mtkcrom.blogspot.com_/ (delete the "_" on URL) obviously you have to ported first for your device, but don't worry, there are tutorials on the pages.
finally sorry for my bad english and... do all things at your own risk, if i helped you click the "thanks" button

building a custom android ROM

Hello, I own an mtk device - Tecno boom j7-
Rooted, but running stock ROM ( android v4.4.2). 1gb of Ram and 16gb of Rom. It is a good device, however the manufacturers have refused to release an update for it. As it is not so popular, there are no forums for it or custom ROMs. I really want to upgrade my device to at least android 5.1, so I have decided to take matters into my own hands by "building" my own custom ROM (FROM AOSP), as I know that another device's ROM cannot be flashed for it (learned that the hard way ). However, I do not know how to go about getting and modifying the source code to work on my device. Since this is a device specific question, any tips or pieces of advice would be much welcome.
Thanks.

Building a custom ROM takes time and a lot of internet data.you're better of porting roms as there are a whole lot of ROMs for mediatek especially 6582/6592
I believe your phone is mediatek 6582 with kernel version 3.4.67 ,if so you can simply port ROM from sites like mtkroms and flash it on your phone
You're right about you can't flash another phones ROM (there are a few exceptions that are irrelevant here) ,but you can port( I,e make some ROMs that's are not for your phone but has the same soc and kernel version run on your phone)
There are a lot of guides about doing it
Good luck
P.s there are custom ROMs already available for your phone
