Hey Community,
I found this bootanimation for the M7:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2248740
I didn't find that one for our device, so I modified the one from the above thread to match the M8 specs. I attach it to this post.
Just use any root explorer to copy it to your ROMs bootanimation location and dont forget to set permissions!
It might be necessary to rename it, just name it like your ROMs current bootanimation.
Robot sequence is looping until booted.

The bootanimation location can be different, depends on the ROM. Just use any root explorer to copy it to your ROMs bootanimation location and set the permissions. I use InsertCoin, the location is /system/customize/resource. Permissions are rw-r--r-- (644).

Running CM7 and not having a properly themed gingerbread music player bugged me; so I decided to change that Introducing my gingerbread themed MIUI Music app! This should work on Android 2.1 and above, but it is themed to match the style of android 2.3, so this is perfect for roms like CM7, or for Gingerbread Themes. Feel free to use this in your theme, so long as proper credit is given! Also, there are two versions; the first is with the equalizer removed, and is much faster than if I let the equalizer in there. The second will be a bit slower, but it has the nice equalizer graphics on the now playing screen

This was pulled from the upcoming Nexus Prime device. It's the default screen resolution(1280X720) so it has to be changed resolution and speed wise(maybe) to suit the device.

No, depending on the rom your on you may have dif steps.
System/Media Bootanimation.zip <<< thats where you put this
Miui, either change to the default theme and ^^^and repeat, or you can edit an existing theme and throw it in the BOOTS folder of the MTZ and put in the Miui Folder and it will be there when you select themes
Easy to follow instructions for applying in MIUI
*Download the bootanimation.zip file.
*Use Root Explorer and copy (or move) it from sdcard\download to data\system\theme\boots
You will have a bootanimation.zip there. Just overwrite it.
Reboot and try to contain your child-like enthusiasm.
This will not show up in your themes folder. To do this, refer to the post just before this one.
By the way: If you change themes, you WILL have to do this process again if you want to keep this bootanimation. Pain in the backside, but easy enough to do. Also, I wouldn't advise using the "move" feature in Root Explorer if you want to keep this animation for later.

It doesn't need to be modded any more than any other boot animation. You could legitimately use any bootanimation.zip, it's really just a matter of knowing where to put it. Basically, non-MIUI (or CM7 ROMs) go into system/media, and MIUI goes into data/system/theme/boots.
Just remember, this is bootanimation.zip, not sanim.zip, but you can always just change the file name and it'll work.
It works and it looks cool, but just resolution could be increased a little.

no need to be sorry we all gotta learn the new stuff at some point.
first dl the image that you want and upload it somewhere like imgur.com (do not upload it directly from computer to xda..this will not work for sigs).
for signature to work go under private message (top right under the Welcome (yourname)).
This will take you to a new page..you will see on the left side there is a "your control panel".
Click on edit signature.
in there put in the DIRECT LINK that you get from imgur.com in the img tags..which goes something like this {img}http://i.imgur.com/LK8vW.gif{/img} where you will need to replace all { and } with [ and ] respectively.
thats it . let me know if you have any questions.
on xda avatars can not be animated..so you will have to select one of the static avatars. hope this helps.
I'll try when I get home btw u can edit ur signature under quick links which is a faster way, thanks a lot for being descriptive.

The animation was inspired by the Nexus One commercial created by Google (love the music). It also took me half a day just to get it to work, but anyway here it is. This is the first time I’ve ever done a boot animation, so comment and give feedback so I can improve on it! Please do not distribute this boot animations.

This widget is one of the coolest ever. I have no idea why it's no longer available. The current widgets for accuweather don't come close. However, I have yet to find one person who has come up with a way to get this widget to work with my android version. I'm using an SGH-i537. running android 4.2.2 and MF3. I typically use go launcher ex, but also have TW installed. Using go launcher, I get nothing with this widget, which should be expected, but with the tw launcher I have installed, I always get problem with widget try reinstalling. Any ideas?

This widget is one of the coolest ever. I have no idea why it's no longer available. The current widgets for accuweather don't come close. However, I have yet to find one person who has come up with a way to get this widget to work with my android version. I'm using an SGH-i537. running android 4.2.2 and MF3. I typically use go launcher ex, but also have TW installed. Using go launcher, I get nothing with this widget, which should be expected, but with the tw launcher I have installed, I always get problem with widget try reinstalling. Any ideas?

Using this widget now with TW, too
There will be no way to get it running on another launcher I think there are some ugly dependencies to the touchwiz framework, didn't see it free from it since galaxy S/2/3..
Don't want to spam this thread but did you try "Fancy Widgets", nice and free
Back on Topic, Widget is working fine here ,thank you very much

Grabbing this for a friend, thanks!
Anyways, I've uploaded the .apk and the .odex in a zip, just in case
Push to /system/app and set permissions to rw-r-r

Thomas, are any files modified on this zip install? or can I just delete the folders created? i.e. /meta-inf and /system

If I recall that right, inside that .zip there are just the 2 Files, no installation.
Just have a look inside with ES File Explorer.
