I search at XDA for a couple of days without success, I would like to trigger the camera app in my Xperia ZL with the physical camera button, I'm using Paranoing rom and when I keep the button pressed the phone just vibrates without open the app. In the stock rom even when the phone was locked holding the camera button the phone opens the camera app. I would be happy to just open the camera holding the button with the phone unlocked. I've took a look inside /system/usr/keylayout/ and /system/usr/keychars/ folders without success...

Hello Iam a bit curious about remapping hw buttons on my X10, troubl no 1 is that start screen button s powering on the screen and in my pocket it almost always is on ending with ery hig power consumption.My second trouble is also in my jeans pocket, I accindentaly rejects alot of calls before i have my phone in my hand. Is there any solutions for this in my Win mobile hre was a setting for only letting power button enable screen.

I'm also curious about this. As my camera button is not launching camera app. (but it shoots when I launch app via icon).

Like say you are in a camera app, and your phone has no actual physical camera button. But, you want to change, say one of the volume rockers to a camera button within the app.
Is this possible? Feels bad when you don't have a camera button on your phone
There are some custom ROM's that can do this. It really just depends on the model of your phone. Try looking looking in the phone specific sub-forum here for a ROM that lists that as a feature. Usually it will be a mod using the power button. Good luck.
I'm going to try to keep this as short as possible. I basically need to switch the Power button to the Shutter button, so that when I long press the Shutter button it boots up/gives me the options to power down the phone. The camera doesn't function due to water damage, so the Shutter button isn't being used anymore. I need not to wake the screen (I've figured out how to do that), but specifically I need to have the functionality of the power button switched to the Shutter button on a MyTouch 4G.
The research I've done:
-I've read through many threads and came across apps that map buttons, but they're only temporary mappings that get defaulted once the phone is rebooted.
-I've poked around at the .kl files in /system/usr/keylayout using Root Explorer, but that only allowed me to use different buttons to wake the screen.
Is this something that is mapped in the kernel that I need to change?
Is this even possible to do?
Camera shutter, media button and volume keys (zoom) stopped working. Recently flashed chronos brianlee version. Camera app opens from app folder but cannot take a picture or video. All suggestions are welcome.

Yes. They do work in Open recovery.
When I hold down the shutter key to take a picture, it just tries to focus, a green box comes on, but does not complete the action. Oddly, the same result when holding either media or volume up, volume down keys.

Hi,
is there some app that disable the touch buttons when some other apps are opened? Becuse with an s-view cover it really hard to take a photo, because to have the cover opened i can't hold the phone from the back and holding it from down it's a pain becasue it is really easy to push the touch button (back or menu). So is there any app that can disable this buttons when a camera app is opened, so to exit i need to use the central button?
