[Q] Official Release of WP8.1 on 24th June - Windows Phone 8x by HTC

Microsoft has released it's WP8.1 on 24th June, finally. This is not a developer version and it's a complete developed version. Lumia devices are going to get it within a month but what about HTC?? Any word??

[Q] Mango on HTC HD7s

sorry if this question has been asked before. Will the HTC hd7s that AT&T is releasing take the Mango update coming in the fall
Yes, all current WP7 devices will get the Mango update.
So will it be released around August September November?

What is actual Security Patch Level 617 and 401?

Hi,
I consider to change my wife's CID from original 111 TMO to at least 401 or may 617 (contains 617 ROM for the A9 German as language? On my old M9 it does not). Reason is that it stucks in 7.0 security patch Level December 2016 -unbelievable!
There are so much Patches missing, Bluetooth, WPA2...
So what are the latest Patchlevel for 401 and 617, please?
Best regards
I have tried some things by myself.
Changed MID & CID for .617 BS_US001, but have NOT German Language (wife punished in my face ) and habe Patchlevel 08/2017
So I have flashed .401 HTC__001 after changing MID back and CID to HTC__001, I have Patchlevel 2/2017
Not really better, Bluetooth and WPA2 krack not solved! And THIS is a HTC One?
Why to buy a premium Mobile if it does not getting updates? So I can buy a mobile in China for some Bucks which is also not updated.... :-/
I go for Lineage OS for that reason (security patch). And phone work better ! (i simply re-install HTC camera)
For software numer 2.18.617.41, the Android Security Patch Level is August 1, 2017 which seems to be latest as of today; version is still Android 7.0.
2.18.617.56 was released a few days ago with November Security Patch

When HTC launched the One A9, it promised to roll out new versions of Android "within 15 days" of their release. Pretty sweet, right? Well, it would be -- but that's not happening with Android 7.0. In a tweet, HTC said the new software will be hitting the HTC 10 in the fourth quarter of 2016, followed by the unlocked One M9, the unlocked One A9 and their carrier counterparts. The timeline suggests that the company will be breaking its promise with the One A9 -- Google released Nougat on August 22nd, meaning the phone would need to receive it by September 6th.
We reached out to HTC, and a spokesperson told us: "With the excitement around Android Nougat, we're aligning engineering resources around our most popular flagship products where the most customers will benefit." It's a shame, because the One A9 is a decent little phone. Admittedly, it's not a top-tier powerhouse like the HTC 10, but it's still capable.

That was when they broke their promise with quick updates. So basically HTC did not sell enough A9 phones and now they don't even bother.
Just the Flagships get some update attention from them. Situation is even worse now since Google bought all capable developers out of HTC.
Very sad about this -the A9 is a very good phone, but gets unlikely with such a bad support. And it was not the first time HTC dissapointed customer. And wondering later why so much people buy from other companys. I really like the phones, ideas and inventions -but if they are "old" after a couple of weeks.....
A man - a word! Why not a company - a word!? Get reliable again, please!

andriod pie

Has someone know about andriod pie... Are nokia gave us beta version of andriod pie...... Nokia 6.1 plus have andriod pie beta... But nokia 7 are not in the list....
The beta and dev preview are only designed for global versions (WW). The Nokia 7 will get Pie. An internal beta is being updated regularly and it is almost stable. Hopefully will be rolling by the end of this month.

I have seen the 33xx builds of Nokia 7 C1N on the OTA server for China. The most recent is "3310-0-00CN-B01". Even there's somebody who is already running the internal Pie on his device. The internal builds are not supposed to be released to the public. So, that's all I will say about it.
All I can say is that they are under testing for a few months now. And they are pretty stable. The Nokia 7 will likely be the first device on CN build to receive the update. All others X6, 6.1, 6.1 plus and 7 Plus run on the similar architecture and should receive the update alongside or shortly after the Nokia 7. Just wait for it ?

They are rolling the October security update now. So, Pie gets pushed to next month then. The gesture navigation of Pie is not working currently and also the theme store is under construction.

Are we getting Android 10 soon

Official Android 10 is rumored to be released to the Google Pixel phones on Septmber 3rd.
Should we expect Essential to follow suite ?
P_
Who knows for sure. Android 9.0 released to PH-1 the same day it was officially released by Google, so perhaps we may see it soon.
Sept 3rd for unlocked (Non carrier) devices.

Update tracking

Living in Europe, more specifically France, I am starting to worry that the security updates date from June 2020 on a smartphone that still wants to be mid / high-end. I hope that Oppo will promise a long software life for smartphones as competing brands can do.
