[Q] what software is used for flashing sony devices in service centers - Sony Xperia L

i use flashtool the unofficial version for flashing my xperia l but in service centers i saw variety of options with their software and it seems even the old jelly bean 4.1.2 works good compared to the firmware that is available in the xda database stock rom list.therefore does anyone has the software to flash the phone as they do in the service centers?

Certainly, they are not using Flashtool.. Their software is their own.. They won't give it to anyone.. It may not even work with other PCs..

[Q] xperia J software update?

Hi folks,
what means this?...
http://developer.sonymobile.com/dow...es/open-source-archive-for-build-11-2-a-0-21/
I know that from today the new software, called 11.2.a.0.21, is certified and like you see as well on the developer side.
But...what it means? Can you download it? How to instal it? Or even, i am not so good on this, WHAT IS IT???
Thanks

It's just the kernel source. I can compile and give you but where you'll use it. You don't have stock jelly bean.

To update over-the-air, may have problems but with PC Companion should work fine.
Yes, it will be unrooted after the update. You need to root again.

glad to be the firs to stop by this thread
hopefully that one was true, if that was. its going to be a big leap for our device development. thx for the info mate :good:
If only the mediatek retards unlocked the bootloader, things would have been soo much simpler. Oh how I miss custom roms
Dude, recently devs have launched unofficial cynogen mode 10.2 for xperia sp locked boatloader.. Check xperia sp thread

Guys,
rocker00 just stumbled onto a MTK CWM on http://www.chinaphonearena.com/forum...-MT6582-MT6592. Looks legit and running.
Any quotes
If cwm starts working with our device than we definitely can port ROMs..

Sony is the problem, not Mediatek. Sony made the decision to lock the bootloader on this device, all other MTK devices comes with unlocked bootloader.

I emailed Sony many times but every time they send me back that they don't have any information about it because it's not in the US market and one time one of them seid to me that the xperia c would have the locked bootloader forever and Sony doesn't even think about to unlock the bootloader but it's on the 4.3 update in next winter.

[Q] RMA with 6.0.1 Concept ROM?

My Z3 developed some faults but it runs the concept firmware, would Sony still accept it?
Sent from my D6603 using Tapatalk
If you didn't unlock the bootloader or flash any modifications or modified versions of the Concept ROM - they should. I don't remember seeing anywhere that flashing the Concept ROM voids the warranty.
I gave my Z3 with concept rom installed. There was no problem with warranty

Debra's XA

Getting the XA today from 3. Guess it will have 3 bloatware all over it and old firmware with slow updates. Is it possible to use Xpedia Companion to flash a stock firmware and rom?

Yes just done the exact same thing on three myself, got sick of the extra stuff three added plus they haven't updated to 33.2.A.2.93 yet so I've flashed the customised UK firmware. Battery life is much better than the three firmware too. Best thing about three xperia devices is no worries about not being able to unlock the bootloader if you want too though there's no ta key back up possible on the x range

No that is will only reinstall the software already on the device if you do a software repair or update it if it is a update.
You'll need to use the latest version of flashtool to download+create a ftf of your choice and then flash it takes between ten minutes and half hour.

Thanks, so 3 XA phone is unlocked meaning I can use flash tool to download the latest Sony rom and get normal OTA updates?

Flashtool works on totally stock devices no root or bootloader unlock required. It downloads the firmware from Sony's own servers(they only keep current versions though) and yes you'll still be able to get updates as your not rooting it or unlocking the bootloader or modifying the system in any way. Three only supply sim free network unlocked devices for all there handsets payg or contract they just add there own bloatware to it.

I'm afraid that isn't true, connected the phone, it recognises it with firmware version 33.2.A.73 but says, This phone is locked etc etc. Gutted, looks like I'm stuck on dodgy old firmware, thanks anyway

Take note of the date in the image posted, trust me there network unlocked and bootloader unlockable one of the main reasons I have a contract with three its how I got the xa as a upgrade had a unlocked m2 from them previously on contract, flash customised UK firmware via flashtool(which is nothing to do with xperia companion) or don't believe me and stay as you are waiting for three to push the update which they don't even have yet I've checked with them they knew nothing about 33.2.A.2.93
I have the exact same device as you but I'm now running 33.2.A.2.93 customised UK firmware rather than 33.2.A.2.73 three UK firmware
Feel free to check the firmware releases below

Strange... I have USB debugging set, oem unlock set, run flash tool (Emma) and after 30 to 60 secs says the phone is locked. The correct phone model, the imei and firmware version are shown (greyed out) Have I missed something?
I know 3 phones are unlocked to networks, don't think my bootloader is unlocked

Flashtool is totally separate to Sonys EMMA software Emma is Sonys official software for unlocked bootloader devices only.
Flashtool by androxyde is totally different and works on totally stock devices.
The bootloader is unlockable as mine is but it comes locked you need to email Sony requesting a unlock code and follow the instructions, unlocking the bootloader also voids the warranty.
My Xperia needs to be off and oem unlock checked and it should be fine
Try following this guide if you want root and unlocked bootloader

In waiting in hope for a way to back up the ta keys before I unlock mine made the mistake of loosing my ta keys before.

No should be fine the firmware is identical just three add way too much useless stuff to it, I'm on three UK but now running customised UK firmware much less pre-installed bloat than three's firmware. Battery life is much better too

Hmmm, left phone on 3 rom and after major debloating by disabling loads and running greenify, it seems fine, only loses 2-3% overnight, not froze for 2 days and 3 support say new update on the way, happy days

Enable the aggressive doze and doze on the go feature via adb in greenify, it makes doze more like old stamina mode. Gives you full instructions on how to enable it in the app. After using both three and customised UK firmware, the customised UK is definitely the better of the two. Glad to hear you are happy three must of only just got the firmware from Sony as a week ago they knew nothing about it. Why I ended up with the customised UK firmware

Stock ROM for EU XZ Premium

Hello all,
I bought an XZP with Orange provider, so i wand to unbrand it.
Am I dumb or not, it seems to be impossible to find a stock rom to flash with flashtool.
Can someone help me?
You can download whatever via XperiFirm which you launch via Flashtool
You can download stock firmware with XperiFirm. CE1 is central Europe. Be careful when choosing the device model: G8141 is a single-sim version, G8142 - dual-sim.
I don't think Flashtool currently supports XZ Premium but you can use Newflasher instead.

Thx U so much, as i'm on Mac, it was a little bit different, i ran windows with parallels desktop and download the rom.

No, as far as I believe. The DRM keys only get buggered up when unlocking the bootloader what is not necessary for common flashing.
Cool I am gonna have a go as this firmware version is clearly buggered. Not sure if it will make a difference on bluebooth audio etc though
