Google Photos - 16:9 photos look squashed - Sony Xperia L

Hi,
Has anyone noticed 16:9 photos in Google Photos are squashed?
Photos>All - Squashed
Photos>Highlights - Not Squashed
Camera - Squashed
How bizarre.
Bug? Any fix for this?
I would love to use google photos instead of album but as my photos are 16:9, this is a small problem.
Anyone else have this issue?
Thanks in advanced: )

anyone?

If you are on 4.2.2, the thumbnails of 16:9 is really buggy and looks like that. Use 4:3 instead and it will be fine

I had a feeling that would be the case.
Why Sony don't update this phone to 4.3, I do not know.

Install a custom 4.4 rom.
And there is definitely a chance that the Xperia L get's the 4.3 update

I will but only as a last resort, the normal 4.2.2 rom is pretty decent (once you disable Xperia FB).
It's June 24th and no mention of an update yet!

[Q] Which JB ROM is best?

I've been having the hardest time figuring out which JB ROMs are stable with everything working so I can flash it. There are about 3 or 4 different versions of CM10 (one official and several kangs). There are also a few kangs of AOKP. Then there's also Paranoid... Has anyone tried a few of these?
I want a JB ROM that includes "project butter" with everything working correctly (I know MMS and camera resolution has been an issue for some, but i heard it was fixed?)
So which JB ROM is the most stable?
I've only tried the official CM10 (8/20 build I believe) and the CVCPS "preview" build right before that, and both were great. No issues here. I did wait until the MMS problem was fixed before flashing though.

Similar if not same battery and WiFi icons, maybe Google previews their next version of Android in a earlier version Chrome OS!!
Probably not, but still I found it interesting. Didn't include the font on KitKat because I've changed it on mine.

That's interesting - neat observation. Icons are all kind of blending in on devices now and looking so similar, surprised you noticed a similarity.

I get that as well, don't know if STAMINA mode is the cause but there is a delay in the clock widget and system time updating. Truth be told that problem was there since the ICS firmware on 2011 Xperia's. Just wait for a bug fix or get used to it.
Edit: The poll doesn't make sense, also no need to create duplicate threads, refer to this one.
Hopefully moderators can delete this one.

I gues this will be another 4.4.4
I think so too. Lollipop has a long way to come. But even though, lollipop doesn't support Xposed also i read somewhere that memory leaks are present in it so in a way it's not fully stable. I hope it is just another 4.4.4

Yes, it's expected to be another KitKat, according to XperiaBlog: http://www.xperiablog.net/2015/02/03/minor-xperia-m2-dual-update-certified-18-3-1-b-1-8/
For me, the current version of KitKat is stable. Wonder what bugs they have selected to fix. I encounter only one problem and that's not working of navbar while any video is playing in fullscreen.
There are certified updates for D2303/6 as well, I suspect as much that D2305 has it too. Well, just wait.
Me using 4.4.4 KitKat is kinda slow in certain points, which is weird. But, hope this update fix some bugs D:
It is slow after some time
