TF 300 Partitions. Help please! - Transformer TF300T Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey there!
I'm hoping that someone can help me out. My nephew who's a wanna-be geek was going to update my ROM (which didn't to be done really, but he wanted to show me what he was able to do). He went and downloaded the latest CM 11, rebooted and went into TWRP 2.7.0.1, did a factory reset, an advanced wipe, and did the Format Data. When he did that, it got stuck in a loop. Nothing happened. He tried to install the ROM he downloaded, and NOTHING! Long story short, by him doing the Format Data, he wiped out my partitions. TWRP, no matter what I try to do tells me it's unable to mount 'data' or 'media' etc. etc. Which is leading me to believe I have no partitions left. I've tried installing the latest update from Asus, and no dice. I've tried restoring backups that I have on my micro SD, and that's not working. Prior to all of this my tablet was unlocked and rooted.
Can someone please help me and tell me how to fix this? Can I get my partitions back? I'm really hoping that I don't have to send this tablet off to Asus in Dallas, TX to have it repaired.
I'm using a loaner tablet from a rental store, hoping I can get my TF 300 fixed.
Any help is deeply and sincerely appreciated.

Odd i am not getting your emails....

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=44244313
i did exact same as you.. followed thread info above and it worked. i was on twerp 2.7.0.1 and also had installed a kitkat rom but just used the blob from
stock http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/EeePAD/TF300T/TF300T-WW_epad-10_6_1_27_5-UpdateLauncher.zip
and it all recovered fine.

When you format /data in twrp it now takes 90 mins plus.... Sounds like he interrupted the format to me.
Solution is to reformat /data and let it finish this time.

HELP! Factory /system

Hi guys, im in desperate need of some XDA professional help.
i tried reverting my nexus s back to the stock rom but somehow ended up clicking on Factory /system. (im a dumbass, i know. but i can only blame this other site for giving bad instructions!)
i can access the CWM bootloader, and i can enter recovery mode.
but every time i try to mount the USB storage through Recovery (so i can put a stock ROM -the nandroid stuff - in there and zip it), i get an error. it says File not found.
Now, I can't access my phone at all.
it's pretty much like a computer with no OS.
is there still a way for me to fix this? or i'm i terribly, terribly screwed?
hope to hear from you guys soon!
-cristina
just do a full wipe if you've deleted your data already:
- do factory reset, wipe cache
then under mounts and storage: format everything except your sd-card (photo's etc will be lost)
Try to copy your file again and flash... hope this helps
i have your awnser

DONT WORRY!
check this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1445621
hit the thanks button if this helped
find the right stock images. enter in fatsboot. plug to your pc
open a command prompt
and flash the stock image via fastboot (google it)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1785672
.
thank you for your replies, everyone!
i will have to try this =D
although, i was able to solve the problem by using ADB to transfer files to my phone. specifically the Nandroid back up file. now I am running the rooted stock 2.3.1
i am having problems updating it to higher versions though! so i just might have to return to the unrooted stock version. =D i'll have to try it out =D
again, many thanks!

[Q] TF101 unable to boot - unrecoverable bootloader 0x000000004 error

Hi, hope somebody can help me with my B70 TF101, rooted but everything else stock.
Earlier this week I received an Encryption Unsuccesfull message, tablet worked fine in the morning, would not work in the afternoon.
I tried a factory reset (volume down & power, but no luck, it starts but then displays the android with red exclamation mark.
After searching the forum I tried to use Easyflasher's unbricking/ flashing stock firmware tool with the latest Asus update for the US, chose SBK2 as it is a B70, Easyflasher showed succes, however when I tried to reboot the TF I receive the unrecoverable bootloader 0x000000004 error .
Anybody have any ideas what went wrong and how to correct this?
Thank you.

Can you boot in recovery?
Edit: Err.. did you flash the right ROM? Every one that has that problem is on the Prime, not the TF101. See this thread, brick 1b and 2.
No recovery, I can only get into APX.
Used US_epad-user-9.2.1.27 with Easyflasher. Downloaded from the Asus site.

If flashing stock fails again then try following step
Instead of flashing stock rom, Try flashing recovery(TWRP) through easy flash, if that's a success then get into recovery n DELETE/FORMAT internal memory, cache, dalvik and everything under wipe option... down a custom ROM and flash it.. that might work

Looking for an older version of the stock to download, no longer on the Asus site. Where else can I find that? Need a US version of the stock.

I have tried to flash TWRP, receive success confirmation, but can not boot into recovery, still giving the unrecoverable boot error message.

Looks like you're using an unsigned loader or something... but at this point I'm not sure how to solve this. Maybe try posting in the easy flasher thread, the author might have some ideas. If you want to start learning the more hardcore stuff, you can take a look here, though it's for a different model but can point you in the right direction.
This guy had the motherboard replaced to fix it.
People having the same problem, you should keep an eye out there as well.
Finally, last ditch effort... maybe roll back to 3.0? See the update in this post.
Even though some help/answers are for different models, they can help you think of new solutions or provide generic tools; it's worth looking into.
Thanks for the assistance. I gave up on the tf101 and bought a Note 2.

[Q] WIPE DATA PROBLEM -cm 11 m8 - bootloop- IS IT BRICK??

I have an Asus tf300t with CM 11 M7. Today i have tried to install cm 11 M8 and to get it i did some wipes. However i chose FORMAT DATA (PLEASE, can you tell me what happens?). Now i am trying to wipe factory reset but i always see FAILED, and although the cm 11 m8 install is successful, then when i reboot, the screen shows cyanogenmod's animation but it never ends.
In addition when I select storage, twrp shows me that internar storage is 0MB.
PLEASE, Can you tell what is wrong?
How can i fix that?

Thank you. Now the problem is solved. I was stupid because I turned off my tablet before ending the process.
Therefore, the partitions and mount were damaged. It was solved formatting data again.

[Q] Nexus 5 Bootloop

So let me start by saying I am 100% a noob, and I have read many threads trying to get to the bottom of my problem to no avail. I am sorry if there is a solution for my problem somewhere, I've been working on this issue for 24 hours and have yet to find it.
My girlfriend was apparently using google maps on here relatively new phone (running 5.0.1) and it crashed. Upon restarting it was stuck on the coloured dots screen for several hours. She has not installed any third party apps, only those from the playstore and not too many of them at that.
I tried factory reset and received a bunch of errors about failing to load the E:// or something like that. The phone still would not boot up.
I downloaded minimal fastboot thinger on my windows 8.1 laptop and tried to flash a new image of 5.0.1 on it, IIRC I received errors about E:// again
Got Wugfresh NRT and tried TWRP wiped all (still saw some stuff about E:// failing to mount and such) then tried to unroot flash stock with soft brick/bootloop checked.
Still bootlooped for over an hour when I started it up.
Tried flashing 4.4.4 instead. It worked. Phone booted up. Gallery/Camera do not work however at this point. Tried updating to 5.0.1.... phone restarted bootloop for 8 hours and counting.
Flashed 4.4.4 again, Followed Full Driver Installation Guide in NRT exactly. Tried Flash Stock + Unroot with Device is on/Normal checked this time instead. Now it has been colored dots screen for about 20 minutes.
So I can load 4.4.4 but no matter how I've tried to install lollipop 5.0.1, it stays on booting screen forever.
What do?
Thank you so much in advance and apologies for being a noob.
EDIT: More googling today. Looks like my E:/Persist partition is corrupted or something, trying to figure out how to repair it right now.

If I can bet it must be a corrupted persist partition. Lollipop will not boot if its gets corrupted but kitkat will do. If you could tell what is the actual error you see in twrp or cwm recovery then we could identfy the actual problem. But I am 90% sure the mount error is about persist partition.

I'm actually looking at that right now! Downloading Java and Android SDK atm. Of course still a little shaky on a couple terms in your guide hopefully I can sort it out. Really confused as to how Google Maps on a vanilla nexus 5 could corrupt a partition like that, its all google endorsed and official. They should be fixing my phone not me lol.

Thanks for the offer. I'll try on my own and get back to you maybe tomorrow if I can't get it down.
Alright so I am definitely having problems running adb shell. even if I change the directory in cmd to my adb.exe location (android\android-sdk\platform-tools) I keep getting the error adb shell is not a recognized blah blah blah....
NVM got it working. Whenever I get frustrated enough to make a post I end up finally finding a solution.
ALRIGHT I have Lollipop up and running thanks to your guide on fixing persist partition. Thank you so much! Question: I have a nexus 5 and it does not have an sd card. I'm not sure how to proceed in doing the steps you described involving mac addresses. I did use a hex editor and make those files, but not sure where to put them in my phones internal storage, and how to direct adb to said location. Any help with that?

Just copy them to the root of your internal storage, then follow the guide.
I mean you just open the phone's internal storage from your PC and you dont open any folder. You just copy it there.
The guide is for nexus 5, but some people refer to the internal storage as sdcard too. I know it is a bit confusing. Thanks to point it out. I will make clear in my guide now.
AH I see ok I will do that tonight. Ran in to another problem though it may be related to the mac address thing I haven't done yet, not sure how that all works. The phone randomly restarts every few minutes and it won't connect to the carrier either. Also if it matters I left the boot loader unlocked for now until the phone is working properly, if that affects anything.

The lock state of the bootloader does not matter, but this random reboots after a few minutes is something to worry about. Your phone should not do that after formating persist partition.

[Q] Need help with RCA T820 Tablet

Hi guys, some days ago someone given me a RCA T820 tablet to unlock (not remembering password), so I said, yeah, sure, it just takes me seconds, but the problem is that those tablet(s) series doesn't come with recovery, so I can't enter it, and for better (sarcasm) I soft-bricked it just with restarting during boot to retry entering before I found that it doesn't have it, so is here a nice soul that can upload me a working ("/system") firmware and the USB flashing (VCOM, I suppose) drivers. :')
Also, I contacted RCA's support, but when I said that I don't want to enter recovery because the tablet doesn't come with it, and just need flashing files, they doesn't answer anymore -_-
I'm waiting for your help

The tablet is an allwinner and has a recovery, however you have broken the tablet, no way to fix it now. Return to owner so he can send it in for warranty replacement, or put it in garbage can as you messed it up beyond repair.

Broken a Tablet phisically by flashing it? WTF? I'm wanting help, not lookup what I've done, I know I damaged the OS, but anyway, not by myself (I wiped the "/data" partition),so, how a Tablet will get to not boot with the data partition empty, I format my phone every week without trouble. I just want the firmware please!

You wiped data without entering recovery, that's how you broke tablet, had you entered recovery and did a proper factory reset the tablet would be fine.

Also, a backup with MTKDroidTools will do the same work as a firmware, so flashing it through a backup will be perfect! If there's someone that can upload it, I'll be really happy!

Solved by waiting with the screen blank, then, system boot, so system boot + ADB Enabled before shutting it down = Access to wipe data as it should be, so I do:
adb shell wipe data
Then, reboot the tablet and all fixed, tablet booted successfully and retrieved to owner (receiving pay obviously xD)
Thanks to all and if someone can close the thread I'll be okay
