I agree with the post above me. I would also check to make sure that your network settings are correct for your sim as well.
tnx
with the original rom works, it works with miui and cyagenmode to... but i was wondering what to do to fix this with ics... i hope it will work with cm9...
Just carefully read the list of does/does not work for each ROM that you want to flash onto your device. Maybe the sim card doesn't work for that version. Most ICS ROMs are unstable right now and should be installed with caution.

Hey guys,
Flashed to liquidsmooths 4.2.2 3/5/13 for vzw yesterday and everything is working awesome except that I'm overseas and the titanium backup and apn manager pro trick to enable data with a non verizon sim card doesn't work anymore on 4.2.2. Wondering if anyone has a solution or another way to enable non verizon data back with 4.2.2. Really don't want to go back to 4.1.2. If anyone can help that would be awesome thanks!
So after a lot of looking around the only solution I found was to flash CM10.1 Offical Nightlies 3/15/13. Got everything working on first boot with the non verizon sim, I'm on 3.5g and on the web in Spain. Their mobile networks settings are extensive (add custom apn and select gsm) and as easy as it should be. I really hope liquid smooth can put these features intro their build because theirs is just so much cleaner and faster. Anyways here's the link if anyone is looking for this answer.

I recently swapped out my S3 using asurion (put it completely back to 4.0.4 stock and everything checked out) and the replacement came with 4.1.2 (so thankful :good.
I've already rooted my phone to get my wireless tether back and am looking through a few ROMs.
My question is:
I remember when looking at kitkat roms before I cracked the screen on my old one, it talked alot about repartitioning being necessary during the flash. If I upgrade to a 4.4.x ROM would it still be possible to ODIN back to 4.0.4/4.1.2 if I decide I don't like the new ROM or if I have to send the phone in?
I'm talking about a custom 4.4.x ROM not the stock/Locked BL 4.4.
I did a search and most of the results were for people who had locked BL. I do not :highfive:
Also if anybody wants to weigh in on ROMs I'm all ears.
I haven't found any TW Kitkat roms that I liked, so I was looking at CM11 /AOSP roms.
Thanks!

As long as you don't take any of the locked bootloader roms aka the the new TW 4.4.2 rom or any BL roms you should be ok to go backwards.
From my CM11 S3
Hello
I am quite confused here due to all these versions and stuff, it would be nice if someone can clear up some of my confusion.
After searching here and there I realised that I should "convert" the dual sim XT1033 to GPE version and sacrifice on the dual sim part to install the ROMs.
I want to know if it's a reversible process? Is there a way I can make it go back to normal? (I am guessing flashing Stock firmware would do it but can someone confirm?)
Are there any ROMs I can install without making it to GPE and get the dual sim support? I have installed Crdroid but it's somewhat buggy for me also causing random reboots.
Can someone list out other ROMs that support Dual Sim on XT1033?
XT1033 is a dual sim variant. Most of the ROM's are for the single sim variant. So in order to flash those ROM's you need to convert your XT1033 to GPE by flashing Stock GPE OTA.
Yes you can revert back to use dual sim functionality of your phone by flashing Stock Firmware for XT1033.
CM11 (Dont know about CM12) ROM's and CM11 based ROM's does support dual sim, but you should check it out in the respective ROM's thread to be sure before flashing it
Currently there are many ROM's that support dual sim variant(XT1033). I personally use PAC MAN ROM running 4.4.4 KitKat and it works pretty well for me.
Thanks. Installed PAC Man ROM Everything looks fine.
I recently came into the possession of a HTC Desire 620G Dual Sim (it was my father's) Android 4.4.2, Kernel 3.4.67, Chipset Mediatek MT6592 (Online is liste as android 4.4.4 but that is a lie). After days of searching the web and reading countless forums I came to the conclusion that this is a very unpopular and abandoned smartphone. I really want to change the android version on this phone, I know how to root, I learned from this forums. The only problem I have is that I can't find any android versions ported for this phone, I need anything newer than 4.4.2, I would like 4.4.4 or lollipop as i heard it runs better. I checked all custom androids none has support for this device, I cant even find this phone on the clockworkmod and TWRP list of devices. What do I do now? If I can't even install a custom recovery on this phone? So to sum this up, I need a custom recovery mode for this phone and a ported android version newer than 4.4.2. I would appreciate any help.

Hi, even if my answer has nothing to do with what you asked, you seem to have the abilities to make a backup copy of your stock rom, that's waiting that you still have your stock rom in that phone and it's european model.
Could you please be so kind to make a backup copy of your rom?
And by the way, there's at least one russian guy that has cooked one rom for this phone, even if it seems to have some issues yet.
Thanks in advance

Hi, I'm very sorry I flashed MIUI v5.8.27 Beta, a rom found on these forums ported by a guy, maybe the same guy you speak of. I regret it now, I need the stock rom back, I liked it better. I did found something over the web a stock rom but I'm to wuss to try it because there is a chance I'll brick my phone and this is the only phone I got. Do you want to try that stock rom? I'll find it again for you.

That's very kind of you. I have in fact found also a stock Rom, but is not the same the version as my phone's, plus is a Rom for phones sold in India and I bought mine at in Europe, so I prefer not to "risk" this time.
There are some sites that really have all the roms, but they want money to let you download anything, is quite "strange" and I will not say anything else about that.
Sadly, HTC doesn't provide free download for any of their devices, like they used to do and I am not sure about what could happen if I download and install one of those branded roms that can ba apparently downloaded.
Finally, what I want is simply recover the "normal" functionality of this phone, because after rooting, I lost the camera function, the whole system became absolutely unstable and getting worst, so now it resets itself without warning just like that and it's not providing any acoustical messages anymore, so I know I will never root again a phone with any of those "tools", I will do it old style, connecting with a command line terminal.
So maybe that Rom you're using may fit the bill for me, but I couldn't find a way to install cwm or twrp on this phone to install any cooked Rom and I've been really out of this chores for quite some time to know enough to find the right way to do this on my own.
So thanks for any help you can provide and I think it would be really nice to provide this Rom here because it's more than one person who needs it and apparently no one really cares about this phone, there are several people with these problems.
