Hello all,
A lurker's first post here.
As the thread title states, HTC has supposedly started pushing Sense 6 to the HTC One Mini in UK (assuming it is also pushing to other countries too). Has anyone have this installed? How does it compare to Sense 6 port ROMs such as InsertCoin?
Currently a Insertcoin user myself, I may backup my ROM and test out HTC's official Sense 6 and provide some user feedback.
Cheers!

Is this the update file that is downloaded prior to install? If so I can help with that, though I may be doing this tomorrow as have some plans today.
Do I flash the stock KK ROM then get the update file? Could possibly do this while watching the Italy/CR game.
Being a IC user, I'll gladly help in any way as thanks to all your work!
Edit - Actually, is it even possible to still receive HTC updates even if i flashed stock again?

Yes once its downloaded, dont reboot but find where the OTA.zip is and upload it and share here on XDA so us devs can use it... and you'd most likely have to flash a stock odex KK rom.... but once the download is finished dont install just share and within a few days i can release a fully working sense 6 IC rom updated with the latest tweaks.... if you can somehow get it today ill be very greatful and will push for a quick release just for you helping me.

It would seem i need to be on hboot 2.19 in order to flash the stock rom on the old partition layout..I really dont feel like subjecting myself through hboot and formatting again when I messed up the phone few weeks ago.
If anyone's on hboot 2.19 and on 4.4.2 stock, please could you provide the OTA.zip for miniwhooper!
Cheers!

Do you know how to edit update scripts? If not upload stocks and I'll edit it and then all you have to do is replace it and flash the rom , can't have superCID though you must revert it back to original too

I didnt know I had downloaded Triggers 4.4.2 stock rooted ROM for the new partition layout, how do I edit the CID again? I should really keep a note of all the edits I do, currently on supercid.
Once I change the CID I can attempt for the OTA file.
EDIT: NVM I found out about changing cid, this is the file I got from the software update:
OTA_M4_UL_K44_SENSE55_MR_HTC_Europe_3.10.401.6-3.10.401.4_release_356961.zip
Doesnt seem to be sense 6...
Let me update and see what happens.
edit 2: tried installing the update file but gave an error on the recovery/installing screen then it rebooted saying system is modified so please revert..
Is this due to being s off? rooted? Any suggestions?
Just checked for updates on my generic UK One Mini, no update to Sense 6, still on 5.5
I'm guessing that since miniwhooper posted saying she is releasing a stock rom tonight that she has a copy of an update file?

I think for official updates you may need the stock recovery? Otherwise the OS will find that your phone software has been modified.

I don't think which version matters, think there is only 2-3 to select from anyways, I hope you don't receive the 'system is modified' message like I did as that will prevent receiving official updates.

My understanding is that if you have the stock ROM it will allow you to download the update. If you are rooted you can download it, but not install it because you will need the stock recovery in order to do so.
Personally, I think I can deal with being non-rooted for a little bit in order to try out the new stuff. I already nandroid'd back to the stock ROM, but still rooted ... going to put the stock recovery and such back on and see if anything shows up over the weekend

I just put my stock image of 2.1 and stoc recovery and straight away got the OTA for 2.1 update1, so I believe 2.2 OTA will come too

That is implied by my first line in my OP...however that is what an RUU is, haha
It's used to fix your phone or return it to stock to restore to factory defaults.
It looks like both the HTC and the Sprint support download sites do not have this posted since both support sites are still showing MR 2.27.651.6 and not this 2.31.651.7 file. Strange.
So, is your 2.31.651.7 Update file rooted???
No this is the official ruu...

No, they're two very different things, and it's critical that readers be aware of exactly what those two things are.
The OP posted a link to Sprint's executable RUU that takes your phone to the latest factory release, and breaks root if you're rooted.
The link you posted is to a zip file containing a rooted rom released by nfinitefx45 based on the latest Sprint update, along with a custom OC'd kernel he released specifically for that rom.
I have been rooted almost a year and haven't really been keeping up with rooting new RUU's. Is this newest one rootable by the FreshKitchen? I remember reading how Sprint removes root methods with updates.
I need to take mine in for warranty and want to make sure I can get CM back.
I am currently running CM6 Extremely Blue but was wondering if .7 is rootable via the one-click apk or other method just in case I ever run this on my phone for some weird reason.
Thanks. Was looking for this. I have to return my hero to sprint due to dust under the screen issues. Just hope they don't send me a refurbished more crappy than the one I have.

If worse comes to worst you can flash back to the previous RUU and re-root from there.

I would just find the previous RUU files posted around here, run one of them and root from there. And you can always downgrade the RUU when you get your new one from Sprint.

You can not roll back to the previous version ruu after installing this. So after installing this I believe there is not way to root the phone until a "root" is released for this version.

Hope that is clear to everyone

Nfinite, I think you're a little confused here. Please click on PTown's link. It takes you to the first listing in your sigline, which is your rooted version of Sprint's latest release, wherein you posted:
NFX Sprint 2.31.651.7 STOCK Deoxed/Odex
This is the New Update from Sprint this is a completely stock rom with everything from the factory included.
Included Extras:
Rooted
Busybox
SU
wireless tether
I believe you're thinking that PTown's link takes you to your RUU release, which is the second listing in your sigline.

Ok so I flashed 2.3.6 back stock for OTA rom from the thread in this section and now for some odd reason I cant access my CWM. Whenever I try to it shows some box and triangle thing flashing
tried to reflash CWM using Rom Manager and kept getting an error.

To the handful of people getting OTA update on i9020a, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE get either:
a) name of ZIP file
b) URL of ZIP file
c) copy ZIP file and upload (should be in /cache folder I think)
(preferably all three)
Once you install it the file is deleted and you lost your chance, so please if you downloaded update don't apply until you get at least one of the above...but preferably all three, you would be a hero to all of us in this thread with i9020a wanting update. This is AT&T/Rogers model.

I downloaded Voodoo OTARootKeeper from the android market. The description of the program claims it should hide your root during the ota and according to the apps latest reviews, it works on this ics upgrade. Will there be a specific date on when the 4,1,1 (OTA) fix will come in so you can use the AOSP ROMS? or will we just have to wait and see.
(I OTA updated before knowing of rooting, so don't tell me its a no no and stuff )

From what I understand they have 90 days to release kernel source after releasing the kernel so we're looking at around 3 months. I'm in the same boat as you bud. Updated without realizing the downside and I much prefer aokp to sense. Until then I'm using viper 3.1.0 desensed with nova. I even went as far as to downgrade my hboot to see if I could flash aokp after with no difference.

Damn, I was just going to suggest that and see if it works i guess not. Couldn't we just downgrade to the ICS build by downgrading our hboot then flashing the 2.40 RUU?

Well actually nvm the 2.40 RUU isn't leaked yet i think so couldn't you downgrade to 1.09 and then Flash HK 2.42 RUU which is basically the same?

They DO NOT have 90 days. GPL clearly states it must be provided immediately when the accompanying software is available or before. HTC is in violation of the GPL. They are only allowed time to make it available for distribution. They think that this allows them to hold it back indefinitely while in reality it means time to upload and should always be available within 24 hours of the Rom being released to the public. This is not open to interpretation according to the GPL and any lawyer who has looked at it. Gpl-violations.org is a good place to file a complaint as well as HTC's legal department. This really needs some attention considering they routinely wipe their ass with a legally binding agreement that does not allow delaying kernel source at all.

Somewhat of a noob question, but I'm assuming AOKP ROMs also wouldn't work if I stupidly applied the 4.1.1 OTA update?

Yep only jb sense... And once kernel source is out it will be fixed so be assured and I thought they had 90 days? If they were in violation oh well but I could of sworn they had 90 days to do it either way until they become a dev friendlier community you have to wait at least 90 days for source

im just thinking of getting the nexus 4
So I applied this OTA update (flashed the stock recovery first), then re-flashed TWRP. Now, I can't for the life of me get the phone rooted again. I tried several different supersu apks, some older, some newer. SuperSU itself can't install, can't uninstall, can't update its binaries. Different supersu's allow SuperSU itself root access, but no other programs can be given root access (such as Titanium Backup).
Any ideas? I'm about to get rid of this phone, HTC is just making modding so painful. My fault I know for installing the OTA update, but still...

Do you have a kernel which allows write access to system partition?

I installed the 4.1.1 update, so I have that kernel. Are there any kernels I can install that will function with the new update? I was under the impression I had to wait until HTC released their source before I could flash anything.

That should do what you want.
Thanks, I'll look into that.
I have a nandroid backup of my stock ROM (4.0). Would installing that work, or has the 4.1.1 update messed that up too?

I was wondering the same thing. A real answer would have been great.
EDIT: Seems like after a while LTE decided to come on.
flashed Firmware
started back up fine after firmware flash but when i tryed to go into recovery from bootloader phone wouldnt start up. Tryed reboot from bootloader and phone wont start at all but i still can get into bootloader . anyone else have this problem. Seems off because the phone did start up fine after i flash the firmware. Seem from other post that i needed to refresh my rom for camera to work so thats what i was going to do when this happen
Got it started back up after powering down from bootloader . it looks like i have to reflash recovery..anyone else had to do this?

This post is for developers ... you not going to get much help here
but i can tell you this ... you would not normally flash the whole firmware zip
you edit it in 7zip and remove the recovery.img and hboot if you don't want it updated
some also remove the boot.img it seems to break the camera. Just a FYI
I flashed this and for first time flashing firwmares I lost root and now instead of 3G icon its showing ATT 4g Icon lol!
Can anyone extract out the camera apk for me from this firmware so I can compare to previous. Thank you devs.

obviously
Stock dump is not rooted and if its 709.2 (asia?) then it will have WWE style icons not ATT specific

709 is TW m7_u version
And guys, These are the preload apps from the OTA package, including Sound Recorder and a lot of TW stuff.
