[Q] Google Now Launcher not compatible? - ONE Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Just got my 64G yesterday. LOVING it. Great to be back on CM since I screwed myself over with my SCH-i535.
I really enjoy the Google Now Launcher. Went to install it and its not compatible with the phone? I had run it on my SCH-i535 running CM11.
Is there something I need to do or a way to get it installed?
I have NOT rooted yet nor done anything extra. I am running stock CM11S on the phone so far.
Thanks everyone.

However, for the One we only need the GoogleHome.apk
I made a write up on the OnePlus forums for new users, giving credit to the XDA post.

If it's like any other 4.4.x ROM, you just need to download the apk and install it as a normal app via any file manager (e.g. ES) - no special fiddling required!
Here's the apk - http://d-h.st/Njr
Just an easier solution to your question

The Google now launcher is technically only for nexus and gpe devices. So any device that's not one of those shows as incompatible in the Google play store. You however install the apk on any device, but you won't get updates from the play store. When new versions come out, you'll have to download updated apks.

Wheres the Android market app?

I just installed the new Cyangen mod 7 rom and it installed fine but theres no Android Market app anymore. Without it I can't download titanium to restore my backups.
You should be able to find the latest version of the market in ROM Manager. Look in ROM downloads under Google Apps. It may be there. If not try doing an XDA or Google search for the download and I'm sure you can find it posted somewhere.

You have to flash GAPP's, its available wherever you downloaded CM7 from. Due to licensing they can't include the google apps in CM7.
ah thanks I got it now. Apparently the app didn't install during the first installation.

[Q] Google Apps Missing After Flashing Galaxy Nexus

Hi,
I just bought a Samsung Galaxy Nexus and it had some great Google stuff on it (e.g. Market, Maps, YouTube, ...) and it asked me to connect it to a Google account at activation, so everything worked great.
Now, following Google's guide (source[.]android[.]com/source/building-devices.html), I downloaded the Android source, built it and flashed it onto the phone. Everything worked fine, but now it does not have any Google support, I can't even add an account in the settings to sync my contacts, so they are gone, not to mention that I can't simply install apps from the Market.
Is there any possibility to get this support back within this custom Android?
If not, is there any rooted ROM that has this Google support?
I have searched this forum and the web, but all solutions don't apply to my problem.
Thank you in advance!
Search for "google apps v7" it's a zip file u can flash in recovery.

MIUI for NOTE 3 SM-N900W8 its here!

Hi Guys Just wanted to share some great news for MIUI fans that have been waiting for this ROM, its Here and Works perfectly on my device SM-N900W8, it should work for you guys too!
I´ve downloaded it from the Official english MIUI site, heres the link:
http://en.miui.com/download-234.html
I know it says that its for the Note3 N9005 but it totally Works on ours, I have been using it for a few hours now, so far so good, most important is that I did not have to install any fix, nor install the EFS folders, nothing, I just installed it, perform proper wipes, reboot and all Works, phone, cámara, whatsapp, S-Pen, etc, I havent downloaded GAPPS though, i think thats next, Ill check it out and ill keep you posted!
Cheers!
Can't wait to get home from my holliday hehe. Been waiting so long to flash this on my N9005. I almost gave up on it. I think i'm going to skip the Note 4 anyways because the snapdragon 800 is still an awesome SoC and android is not optimised for 2k display resolutions.
So yes im gonna rock another year on my Note 3 but this time with awesome MIUI.

How did you installed it?
This is what I did
1.- Wipe data, cache and dalvik
2.- Install MIUI
3.- Reboot and set it up
Right of the back it offers you to choose english, so I set up the basics, there was the Baidu keyboard, no problem there.
4.- Installed Micro Gapps
5.- Opened Google play store installed SwiftKey and its all good.
im pretty sure one of the versions does not have a keyboard. i forgot which one, might have been the first version based off of tw. I just downloaded a keyboard apk through computer and transferred it through usb.
Does this rom have samaung app (like play store)

The ROM I am posting about does come with keyboard (BAIDU) but if you flash the ROM and Flash GAPPS and then Reboot you do get some problems with Keyboard, dont do that, just flash the ROM set it up, then go to recovery and flash GAPPS Reboot the system, all works!

[Q] tasker utter conflict on adroid 5.0 Playstore 505 error

Has anyone that has upgraded to any rom with Android 5.0 or higher successfully installed both the Tasker app and the Utter app? I have been searching and see starting back in November a few posts about this but none have resloved it. I can install either one without difficulty from both the google playstore and titanium backup. I can not however install both. Some have suggested doing a fresh install of the 5.0 rom then immediately doing a factory data reset. This didn't work. I have an LG G2 on Sprint and am running lollipop. The rom is great. Having to choose between Tasker and Utter isn't so great.
I have been experiencing exactly the same problem. I'm on the galaxy nexus (maguro) using fml lollipop.
Did you find any solution?
Guys, it seems, there is nothing you can do apart from reporting the issue to the devs. With Android Lollipop it's not possible two apps that declare a permission using the same name in their manifest. So you have to wait for the developers of the apps change something or the android devs change something in the OS. Sadly for now, all you can do is install only the one of the affected apps. So since utter does not work on lollipop, I am gonna install tasker for the moment.
Error 505, Tasker-Utter
Same here, Nexus 5, Lollipop 5.0.2. end of January 2015. Still can't install Tasker and Utter, one or the other, error 505.
Hi all, this has now been resolved via bens latest utter! Test build. woo hoo! Enjoy!

Great news. I hope the new version will be published on google play, too.
I had tried the fix on my LG G2 rooted running AICP 5.0 and got the beeping problem. Just upgraded to the LG G4 and haven't rooted it yet. Tried this fix and it works perfectly. After several failed attempts to install it from the Playstore (tasker already installed). Finally a lollipop rom with both tasker and utter running fine. Thanks for posting.
I have also the problem that it is not possible to install tasker and utter together on android 6.0.1.

Gear App wont install detected as installed ind WEB Playstore

Hi all, i am having a dilemma... i just installed a new rom on the nexus 6p. Problem is, the previous custom rom i was on, the gear app installed flawlessly and work as advertised. Now after i installed a new rom, i am not able to search for the app in playstore. But when i go on the web, i opened up playstore, it says the app is installed. The app is not installed anywhere else.
When i choose the drop down from the web playstore to force the install, it detects my nexus 6p as incompatible.
Anyone come across this. shed some light would be a great help.. thanks

It might be that the new Rom is Android 7.0. That is not compatible yet afaik.
