Lifeproof - Galaxy S 5 Accessories

In other news, had this Lifeproof Frè for about a month now and I love it. I've always had name brand cases but this is my first Lifeproof. I'm really impressed with the quality and overall look and functionality. The the protection is second to none. Not to mention the IP-68 rating doubles the phones water resistance. All that said, I didn't mind paying an extra $30 compared to my usual case (otterbox defender). I think it was a great buy.

Nifty case indeed, but you might get better responses in the Accessories sub section of the S5 section.

I have the lifeproof as well and I have a bad echo issue. I have to get a new one on warranty. I cant fix it.

Will you have to send you current one back with a warranty claim?

I just talked to life proof and was told this is a known issue and they stopped selling them until they fix it. They will send me a replacement once they figure the echo issue out. Yes I will have to mail it back after I get my new one.

If they stopped selling them maybe they should take down the ability to order one on their webpage until they have it fixed??

It was down for awhile. Said "out of stock" i just checked their site now and you can order one now. i just wonder if the ones at best buy have the echo issue. Kind of tired of waiting for cases. lol. I have the otterbox preserver case and i hate it. Flies apart if you drop it from > 5 feet.

[Q] Screen Replacement?

Hey Guys, had the skyrocket for almost a year now, first time to drop it and the screen is now cracked. Fully functional though. Is there any way to just replace the glass and not the lcd/digitizer? I paid 150 for the phone and the only replacement screen I can find is 200+. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

I searched Google and eBay and could never find just the screen. First person to give a valid link for the screen under 75 bucks will get a 5 dollar donation! Thanks
Edit: After searching a lot, it turns out the glass screen, aka digitizer, is what I need. However, I cannot find it online without including the lcd. Anyone?
I stand corrected. I do apologize. Ones for the skyrocket are much more expensive than i thought. The s2 I'd the one i had in mind.

Okay, does anyone know if the skyrocket screen/shape are EXACTLY the same as the t989? I think the speaker slot may be a little larger, but if it still works here is this

They must have put that up in the last day, I scourged ebay for a long while... Now I hear to separate the led from the glass/digitizer is near impossible.
any updates on replacing only the glass and not the lcd? I need this done on my phone

From what I've read its almost impossible to separate the two without damage. Some have tried heat guns but usually end up breaking something. Seems the two are glued pretty tightly together.

I had a S II Skyrocket fall flat on the screen and the glass cracked. I searched the internet for options to replace the glass, but none were really encouraging, specially if you are like me not really into opening up the phone and un gluing the glass from the LCD. And any spare part to replace the LCD and glass was costing no less than $150. In short what i wanted to let everyone know is, i went to a AT&T Device Support/Service center not the regular retail store, just to check if they had any spare parts which could be less than $150. And lucky me!!! they replaced the entire phone for me for $100 + taxes. And just to let everyone know, this phone was a $10 refurbished phone brought from AT&T about 8-9 months back, so no warranty or anything. A plain $100 charge and i was with a new phone. I gave in my old phone with a cracked screen and got a completely new phone and the back plate and sd card from my old phone. So anyone who is ready to spend upto a 100 dollars for fixing up the screen, you might as well try this at a AT&T service center.

That's wrong. ATT warranties there refurbs for 30 days and Samsung warranties them for a year. Glad ATT hooked you up though.

Maybe i worded it wrong. The point i wanted to put forth was, this $100 option is for anyone who has a cracked glass on S II skyrocket taken to the AT&T Product Service center. I surely did not have the AT&T warranty which is 90 days for refurbished models, and this damage would surely not be part of the Samsung warranty.

Lack of accessories!

When I first saw the nexus 4 I was excited for the accessory possibilities. Since it is built in a similar manner as the Iphone 4/4s with glass on both sides and it was selling out everywhere I was sure the accessory manufacturers would jump on it. All I wanted since I first saw it for the iphone 4 was this bumper...
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Luxury-All-...599&pid=100005&prg=1088&rk=3&sd=400445361397&
They even had one for last years arguably less popular gnex.. why aren't we seeing very many accessories for our phones?
There plenty just gotta search, if you want a high end pouch go on etsy, if you want a $10 mybat tuff hybrid case go on eBay,
Nexus 4 tandem
Also, do not forget that the iPhone 4/4s has been there for a while already (it is from June 2010), while the N4 has released just some months ago.
Yet, there are plenty of accesories, just google for them (or look here).

I live in Paris. You can get plenty of accessories from ebay, DX.com, etc in Europe.
I thought it was a question thread asking for accessories, now I see it was just to complain at Google. I really do not see the point for a thread like that.
Go ahead, buy an iPhone.

So you bought a phone that is basically a developers phone, for half of the price of any phone out there with buying and your pissed because said phone isn't selling accessories at stores that don't have the phone in the first place? The beauty of this device is the fact that it's the cutting edge of Google's software development. Google is making very little from the hardware and is not a accessory developer. Apple on the other hand is all of the above, hence 3 million different accessories for their super popular phone. Companies make accessories for popular phones, see galaxy s3, iPhone, and that's about it. Is the phone is sold by t mobile or three or who ever is selling it in the bricks and mortar stores, you should check there, but the swear off any Google products...I think they will be okay, but they will be wanting their free everything you are using back, and good luck with BlackBerry iPhone and Windows. I hope you see the humor in my comment and don't take it personally

There are a decent # of accessories but if you're expecting iPhone numbers then get an iPhone. They make millions of one phone, android is considerably more diverse.

I tend to agree a little, to get the SlimPort cable to connect from N4 to TV is $50 minimum, if you want to charge your device while watching a movie then it's another $50 because Amazon don't ship to Australia for certain items - mainly electrical.
It sucks. I've honestly been turned off by Google since I've purchased my Nexus 4, from the debacle that was shipping times, to hardware problems with the phones and the support staff lying to me twice I was fed up with this experience.
Google didn't bother to pour millions into marketing the N4. (compare it to the iPhones and Galaxy Series) And, I'm ok with that. :good:

Seems a bit of a trolling post, this.
Can't exactly see much of a shortage myself, what with the innovation of international shipping.
Since goods are generally cheaper in the States, you add a bit on for postage, and take a bit off due to the advantageous exchange rate, all in all it's a pretty good deal.
So I just ordered the (In my opinion.) three best accessories: official bumper, dbrand skin, and skinomi screen protector. I do love this phone and think that it will be protected well enough. I didn't start this thread to troll or imply that the iPhone is better. But damn those cheap Chinese aluminum bumpers are classy. I intended to start a conversation which accessory manufacturers might see, or somebody could point out some cool accessories that actually exist. (Which they did.) I think the arguments that the N4 is a development device and so manufacturers don't want to make accessories for it are invalid since the gnex had plenty of support from those awesome/cheap Chinese manufacturers, and more importantly, dbrand is making a killing on N4 skins. There is obviously a profitable market for N4 accessories.

I understand. But it'll come eventually. I remember there was almost nothing for the Nexus 7 mostly "Universal" fit items, generic looking TPU cases and crappy folios when it came out but now there's lots of options. Now that the supply issues are fixed for the N4 there are more items starting to come out. I think by the time I/O happens there'll be a variety of more options for the N4.

[VIDEO] Got a fake Spigen Slim Armor? Fix it! - Galaxy S4

Well I would have redone this video, but there is only a slim window where my daughter isn't awake. I use this camera for work and forgot the aperture was set wide open. That's why there is such a shallow depth of field...
This is probably the biggest issue with the fake Spigens along with the sub par inner layer.

Just want to warn members, for people who DON'T want to buy a fake, do not buy from a ebay seller named best201202
the seller, in order to get a PARTIAL refund will force you to give a positive feedback, if not he will refuse to give you a refund, hence is feedback rating is skewed.
I do not hope other follow the mistakes I made
It really surprised me how much positive feedback some of these people selling fake products had. Is it that most of the community has no idea?
I hope ebay seller "united.authentic.corps" is legit.
Edit: just got it today and it's legit! Nice case too
Pretty sure eBay will take serious action if you provide then with this information /proof.

Yeah I'd never leave positive feedback in order to get a partial refund on a fake case. File a claim with eBay and include the message where he told you to do that. I'm sure you'll get a full refund!!

I always buy the fake ones first to test the look and feel of the case (of course they are bit lower compared to the genuine ones). I got the Slim Armor for only about ₹ 450 ($ 7.3) on eBay. For me, blades really did a great job!

Charging Case for Samsung Galaxy Note 7 for $5.00

I went to Amazon after reading a few threads about no plans on the Note 7 being blacklisted for now. I figured maybe some of the price for the case chargers will be lower since people are jumping ship. I found this :
https://www.amazon.com/Battery-Rechargeable-Extended-Charging-External/dp/B01L02HWWA
I thought it was a mistake since the cheapest was $29. Samsungs is the most expensive ironically. Thats the only 1 that charges wireless, hole for S-Pen and water proof with less juice though. I figured $5 what do I have to lose. Here's a screenshot in case its a mistake and they change the price

S Pen

Hi,
I dropped my phone from about 4 feet onto carpet, the phone was in a Spigen Hybrid case and survived the fall with no damage. The "S Pen" though decided to fly out and break exactly where that line in after the "Samsung" logo...
It probably fell at that exact right angle to fly off but man it is frustrating that I'll have to pay 50$ for a replacement pen...
Are there good alternatives to the "official" S-Pen?
Nope, sorry... if you want the bluetooth functions, it's the only one of its kind, supercapacitor and all...
Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk
At least in EU the price is around 25euro, so it's not that bad.
I strongly suggest you buy a replacement from their official store online. Lot of bad replicas out there. I've lost an S-Pen before and I bought one from Samsung directly. No regrets.

Hey, I actually have the same one that I use when I'm at home. The bigger size makes for easier long-term use when I'm playing a game.
For some reason I feel note 9 S-pen is too fragile and will easily break when i'm trying to find the damn button to mostly erase notes as it's placed little below center at weak breakable point.
It's only $30 on Samsung.com
