I'm running Katkiss JB4.3 and outputting to an external monitor.
I'd like the external display to stay on when I close the dock. At the moment closing the dock and screen puts the device into standby and locks the screen.
Does anyone know how to fix this?

i'm looking for the same thing, what i'm doing atm it to undock it and lie it screen down.
does anyone know if the screen screen off from a proximity sensor or from wires in the hinge?
When I get some free time I will look into it another option is to keep it open and turn the backlight off.

I like the netbook form factor gained when leaving the dock attached. I also like how the screen is protected from gathering more dust and such with the "lid closed".
My issue is that when I turn the screen off (quick press of the power button) then close the lid, the screen turns on right before it closes and seems to stay on. Doing a quick press of the power button in the lid closed position doesn't turn off the screen either.
Is this normal? If I avoid closing the lid, turning off the screen keeps the screen off.
I am not rooted or running a unique ROM. I'm running the latest OTA update from Asus.
I've experienced it until lastest rom's. I use Prime, but it seemed to happen because the tablet was not fitting well with the dock. Try to attach it again. But lately, without caution, never happened to me, that i noticed. Do you have the latest dock firmware?
In some other treads people spoke about this situation as well.
look around for all the threads on the dock power drain.
Why hallo thare Infinity peeps!
I have started to use my Infinity to charge my Gnote at school and I just noticed that when I turn of the screen/lower the pad to the dock, it stops charging the phone. I guess this is some kind of powersaver feature and I cant find a way to turn it off, anyone know how??
The dock is only on when the tablet is. No other way around it.
argh, that sux.. :/ No way of charging from the HDMI port?
Not to my knowledge, no.
While I'm sure it's true you can't charge with the tablet off, you might be able to turn the screen off without turning the tab off, at least save some power. I'd explore tasker for that if I were you. Might have to get creative, but I'm sure it's possible to find some sort of compromise.
For example, you might create a scene with a button to trigger 1) mute the volume 2) play an mp3 on a loop 3) turn the display off.
So I want to use and external HDMI display with my TF700 while docked and the lid closed. I need it docked because I need a USB port. The problem is that the display turns off when I close the lid and I can not find the setting to turn that off. I searched and only found 1 other unanswered post like this for the TF101.
Any suggestions appreciated.
Hi everyone!
Please be gentle as i am new to all this My problem is that i'm using CleanROM Inheritance 3.4.6 rom (which is amazing thankyou) with stock kernel but when I restart/reboot my asus tf300t with power supply plugged in i lose the ability to use my notifications/quick toggle menu (which is stock) until i restart my device without power supply.
EDIT: Just realised this only happens when i have my tablet upside down with screen rotation set correct way for viewing upside down and auto-rotate switched off? I use my tablet a lot upside down when plugged in because the power cable then sits on top of tablet allowing me to rest tablet on my chest and use tablet stand.
I now know it's only a small bug but still would like any suggestions on how to fix
Thankyou Richard

Maybe the bottom of your screen isn't as sensitive anymore?
I thought the same but i checked the screen with a multi-touch test app and it's working fine also when the notification/quick toggle doesn't work my sdcard and full!screen icon dissappears? Weird? If someone with the same rom and stock kernel could check on there's and tell me if it's a problem with my tablet alone i would much appreciate it.
My rom is cleanrom inheritance 3.4.6 with everything set to stock within the rom
To clarify i need someone to turn tablet upside down let screen rotate right way then turn off auto rotate, connect charger then restart tablet. This is when my notifications stop working? (Restarting tablet without charger fixes it)
Many thanks

Hi,
my name is Josemari, from Spain.
I have a TF101 with dock (and original rom from Asus) that does not display anything on screen since a soft fall from 10cm (daughter in a very very small chair).
When i plug the charger, it works (and beeps -charge-). When i plug the dock, also beeps. When i connect through hdmi output to my tv, it also works. I can use the tablet perfectly with my fingers.
What can i do?
I disassembled the tablet and i checked all conectors, but i do not see anything wrong.
Thanks.
I had the exact same problem. Even though it has fallen before without a problem, in my last 2 cases it was a loose connection for the video screen. I had to open up the tablet and simply push the video connection back on all the way. It's rather easy if you're familiar with taking things like this apart. Make sure you are careful when you re install the side trim that holds the buttons. It's easy to break the red tabs that press against the buttons. It may be helpful to you to look up a disassembly guide. I believe if you google the specific issue you will find pictures. Again it's been a long time. Hope this helps
I have the same issue since a few days.
Difference here, when I boot up (holding power button until reboot) the screen is on (Asus logo and boot animation)
The display goes balck / disappears (backlight off) when the lock screen comes up.
Checked the inner display cable and connector with no success.
Did a factory reset and it was working again, until I changed the brightness to a higher level. Then the screen was dark again.
I managed to change brightness to a lower level using the working HDMI interface. After that I switched the tablet off and on and the screen was lit up again.
Another effect: when power adapter is plugged in, I can go to a higher brightness level until the backlight turns itself off.
It looks like a hardware defekt of the backlight electronic to me. Couldn't find any spare parts, such as backlight inverter, though.
Can anybody confirm this or knows how to repair?
I will use it at 30-50% brightness now and see if it gets worse over time.
