[Q] What is the name of the black connector mat behind my charger? - General Questions and Answers

Hi, I have an Iocean X7 Elite which I have had for almost 8 months now. Recently I cracked the screen ( by accident of course) and I have purchased a new one.
So.... I installed the new lcd screen myself and it works fine. Only problem is it did not come with this black connector sticker/mat that lies behind the battery. So I was unable to connect my mainboard to the speaker, mic and charging socket area of the phone. I did peel the sticker/mat off the old lcd and connect it to the new one, but to no avail it does not work.
I really need help on what this mat is called as I believe this is the issue with the phone. Any help would be appreciated.. Please feel free to ask any questions.
Thank You Very Much

[Q] Digitizer not working after reassembly

Hi everyone.
So i tried to replace the cracked screen in a Moto G (I just replaced the display+digitizer+glass module). After the reassembly everything worked except for the digitizer (it worked before when i tested it). I tried to reconnect the digitizer connector (the tiny one which connects the digitizer controller to the display connector ) multiple times, but nothing worked. Has anyone faced a similar problem before?

Hi, I have exactly the same problem.
In my case, it's my second screen, so I've already eliminated the screen+digitizer and the cable connector like the origin of the problem.
Has anyone any idea?
Thanks!
PS: Ening, did you get to solve your issue?
much sad

Bad news. My digitizer cable is damaged. On both original phone and the donor. I was not careful enough: the closer inspection showed it. I am going to order another screen or a donor phone (like a used verizon one or something) and try it again.
So the thing is that the video on etradesupply shows it wrong. You have to unstick the tape covering the digitizer cable connector, then unsnap the clicky thing, and only after that should you unplug the screen master cable (the one that goes into your PCB). Otherwise, it is very easy to damage the touchscreen controller cable (the digitizer one).
I really hope you have a different problem and there is still hope for your phone :crying:

Hi Ening,
How do you check the veracity of the cable connector failure? I think I have the same problem than you, but I haven't a way to check it 100%, because I haven't anyone who can lend other screen to me, and the original screen it's now completely destroyed.
I suppose that I will have to send back the screen to the seller and ask for another.
Thanks anyway!

The flex cable part that connects the controller to the rest of the cable is very thin and easy to damage, you've to be very careful or you're gonna screw it (like the OP did).
ofcourse there is a slight possibility that it came defective, but you should have checked it right when it arrived. So far I haven't seen any incomparable ones, but who knows.....

I think there is something else.
On my side, the 3 digitizers (old one + 2 new) give me same result.
The I think the problem should be on the mainboard or a hardware/software blocking ... or maybe something we didn't re-assemble well
and little question : what is the role of this part (see my photo) ???

Probably the last :>
That thin metal plate makes connections on the back of the PCB (its mounted right between the display and the PCB) and I think it connects to mass.I got no idea what it's role is (prolly its a fitting or some sort of heatspreader).I've assembled one phone without it and it worked just fine, but I've put it back afterwards, just for the sake of being complete
and your digitizer works fine ?
I think also that the issue comes from the connection PCB-patch or as you said software digitizer blocking.
So I 'll try to flash a retail rom to see it .... ...... The digitizer still not working

I've replaced 9 digitizers on 9 different moto g's.None of em had any kind of these problems. This leads me to the conclusion that you've done something wrong.
The worst I had is 1 dead pixel on one of the new displays ( I'm using digitizer+display+frame assembly ).

very interesting your experience ...
the strange thing is that we are several persons to have the same problem and the same symptoms ...:silly:
I've unsnapped the connector as they said in the video of etradesupply...
Maybe I've forgotten something.... you have followed this video ?
Edit :My screens are working except for the digitizer.

I've also reflashed a stock ROM ... no change
so it's not software/firmware related ...
so it's hardware
Never, all worked the first time and afaik they are still working fine.Gotta mention that the ones I`ve used are chinise ones, but look and feel like the original, even the glass feels like gorilla glass 3, altough I don't believe that's the case :>
I have a huge scratch down my screen and the local mobile repairing guy quoted £55 to replace.. I thought this was a bit steep.. I expect him to use real gorrila glass 3 @ that price
Sent from my XT1032 using XDA Free mobile app
finally I've just fix my digitizer
It was 1 or 2 pin twisted on the right so there wasn't a contact between the PCB and the patch....
denseye I think your black screen can be fixed, you may see the pin on the left...." Bon courage " PM me if you have questions....
I've got now my earpiece which crackle but I thinks I'll not try to fix it....
Good night
You mean a pin on the pcb connector where thé LCD câble goes? (Français???)
A pin means a spindle which links the patch(LCD câble) to the PCB.There are many pins which compose thé connector.
(Yeah I'm french and i've sent you a MP.... "Dur dur le correcteur ortho ...")

[Q] What is this

At first hello everybody, think this is my first post @ the forum. I just bought a broken Oneplus one from Ebay. The touchscreen isn't working at all. Now I tested the screen on a different phone and it is working. So the problem is at the motherboard. I just inspected the motherboard and there is one small thing broken/missing. I think the previous owner did it to disconnect the digitizer cable. Can somebody tell me what this is?
it would help posting a pic with more than five pixels
Need a better quality pic bro
Hopefully this is better. It's very difficult to get the picture sharp.

[Completed] RCA motherboard in a Proscran tabelt?

Hope this is the right place for this conversation... sorry if its not
I have 3 tablets on the go here, my 6 year old had a RCA RCT6773W22 , he broke it, many times, i got into fixing the glass screens, lcd screens, battery swap out with a samsung phone battery b.c the battery was fried, and i was worried about the little soft battery blowing up as ive heard so much about it. BTW the samsung phone battery is awesome in there. lol
He killed the lcd on it again, wanted a tablet so bad he didnt want to wait a month for a new one from china, and we decided he could have an entire set of swap out items if he got another one. so he bought himself another one with his money, he broke that glass the same week. This time he got the RCA RCT6272W23 glass screen on these are weak. the old RCT6773w22 literally takes an beating and doesnt break easily.
So when he broke this new one, i took the mother board, and lcd out and put it into the old RCA because it still has a new glass/digitizer. Awesome it works great, and he has the old heavy duty screen that can take a beating
so heres my issue, i was given a proscan plt7044k - useless without the google store to my family
so i thought id be smart and put the mother board from the old old RCA into the proscan, because we had no digitizer or lcd for it. The parts all lined up hole for hole, screw for screw, i had nothing to lose, im learning. lol
I swapped in the RCA mother board thats it. the rest is Proscan. So i get it all wired up together, and fire it up. The screen resolution is to big for the tablet....i can only see roughly 1/3 of the full screen, and have to rotate it around to see certain areas....
Is there any way i can fix this, and get it to function right? or is this a case of a compatibility issue.... like maybe aspect ratio output vs screen capability?
not at dire straights here, just thought id get the second 'wow mom youre awesome' for fixing this tablet too...lol
thanks in advance for the input....

OEM LCD Touchscreen Digitizer Replacement Problem

I have a second generation Shield Tablet K1 that I purchased in December 2015.* The tablet was knocked off a counter and landed face down on travertine tile. The glass/digitizer did remarkably well considering but still had a large crack going down the middle of the screen. The tablet still worked in all regards* and I used it with no issues for 6 weeks. I purchased an NVIDIA SHIELD TABLET P1761W OEM LCD TOUCHSCREEN DIGITIZER on eBay.
I had the new digitizer installed locally at a phone/tablet repair shop. The shop called me and told me the tablet was ready for pickup but there were some issues with certain areas of touch screen not working. Basically the upper half of the touch screen works fine and the lower half does not work at all. As far as I can tell the area that works is exactly 50% of the screen. Just trying to do the basics on it right now is a pain as I have to rotate the tablet 180 degrees every few seconds in order to be able to touch a specific key or an app. Of course the shop won't warranty the work because I didn't buy the digitizer from them. What I'm wondering is if anyone can suggest a specific ribbon wire that may need to be replaced or simply checked to make sure the connection is good on it? Should I replace the touch screen controller?
Any suggestions will be much appreciated.
well, if you don't want to open it up yourself, maybe try getting another, more "able" person to look at it. Check reviews and the company, see if it's a known issue, it just might be a bad buy. I'm bet Ebay will do something about it if you contact them, also try contacting the supplier
I don't mind opening it up. I was hoping for some insight as to what to look for. I can swap out the Touchscreen Controller from my original digitizer and see if that corrects the issue. I thought with such a specific issue (only the upper half of the touchscreen working) someone could tell me yes, with that symptom you need to replace your Touchscreen Controller or that would only happen if XYZ ribbon weren't connected.
Maybe the touch screen is defect?
You're screwed. The repair shop tore the digitizer flex cable. The flex cable has no room to flex on an angle, so the cable just rips.
I just did this myself, and was looking around for a replacement when I found this thread. I couldn't find the problem until after I ripped it more; Now only the top left corner works.
I'm just buying a new one, because the problem I initially opened it to fix needs a heat gun, which I don't have.
Good luck
