A friend of mine has this Moto G just laying around, and would sell it cheap. However, I'm in Croatia, and I'm wondering if it is possible to root it, and flash with clean ROM so it can work anywhere on all carriers?

I'm a noob about rooting phone and I have a few general questions about that.
I bought a Telus LG G2 (Canada), that I unlocked to use on Fido (Canada) network.
• Say I want to root the phone, what ROM should I use? Telus or Rogers?
• In the future, if there are updates, will I get them even if I unlocked the phone?

Is there any possible way of doing it. If you ask why i bought an ATT one instead of the moto online one its complex. In any case is there anything i can do with it or should i just resign myself to having to use it as it came? Is there any hope for roms if the bootloader is locked. Thanks

Is there a way to carrier unlock the Moto G XT1031 on 4.4.4 from BoostMobile? I bought it certified pre-owned and I want to use it on TracFone. I read a few posts on the Internet that say that say unlocking the phone won't work past 1/15/2015... is this still the case on pre-owned devices? Or just for new devices bought after that date?
I'm a huge noob at this. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Well you don't carrier unlock cdma phones you flash them to another carrier. As for moto g on any thing else but boost sorry it is a no go. Unless like the lg g2 it is possible to say take a rom from vzw and put it on the boost variant and make it a verizon. The lg g2 sprint can be carrier unlocked by flashing a tmobile rom that has been modded. Found that out here on xda and did it.
I guess I am one of the unlucky one to purchase the verizon prepaid Moto G from Bestbuy Sale to only find out that it came with 4.4.4 and could not be rooted.
Apparently nothing work at this moment.
However, it appears previously Moto G and Moto X had similar rooting method prior to 4.4.4, and someone has worked out a way to root verizon Moto X on 4.4.4 at here

No. :/ I have been searching for about a year now. Verizon had Moto lock the BL on the G's that Verizon had intended on selling. I was not aware of it.. Looked at it the same day also saw the quad core and jumped on it. I will remember to study from now on. I have heard rumors about Verizon letting Moto Release the BL Code but I highly doubt that. For now it sits in the realm of silence, waiting ..... possibly forever.

It will only work if you have the blankflash files for your device.
Looks like Motorola & AT&T decided to release 5.1 around mid January. Anybody try flashing the ATT firmware on a Cricket-branded XT1045 (Moto G LTE)?
