Since upgrading from jellybean to kitkat i have poor battery performance and in recent months i just want to find out what is happening with my phone but there is no any answer. As i read from some sites factory reset may help my phone from battery draining. I know this is the pain for everyone but after doing that i think it is worth it. Some of u may think i do not have any point to stand my status but i actually take alot of screenshots to see whether factory reset helps or not

Yes.
I had a severe drain after updating to KitKat of about 1% per minute with the screen on. Did a facroty reset, it's back to normal.
Before factory reset
? with normal or average use

So I've seen a few posts that suggest a factory reset will fix the battery drain problem with this phone...I am just curious as to why or how this would help. Other than not a very good battery I love everything about this phone.. thanks in advance

So will I notice a significant change in battery life if I do reset the phone?

At work 400 people have a S2 Plus. After the update, many problems have arrived:
- APN settings are lost, set to basic. This could be a problem for busines phones.
- [email protected] crashes..... no worries, just an App..
- Google+ crashes... Hmm, sleightly worrying
- S Planner is messed up. Options are unreachable, Letters are massive and i'm unable to change to week view.. it's locked on month (as soon as i have pictures i'll show
- Email letters are massive... changable for email itself but buttons stay big
As soon as i find more, I'll share
Anyone else have these problems?
No I don't have these problems...May be you can reflash the Rom?

We have about 400 S2 Plus phones here, it would not be wise to reflash all those ROM's.. about 50 of those phones have troubles.
Have you guys tried wiping data... like factory reset the whole phone

update to 4.2.2 without wiping will have crashes in some of the apps. it will happen to other phone too(my good old ace),it's wise to have it backup then update n wipe.
I am not having such problems too.

We just let people update, so indeed we updated without factory wipe.
I'll test it on one of the devices'.
Would another option be re-installing the apps? if i could get my hands on the apk of s-planner for instance..
at leat try to clean cash it may help ..
Try factory reset first.
Installing system apps as custom app isn't really that ideal to me

Any of you have problem with phone freezing? Not in use, when it is on standby. It work only when it is rebooted (holding power button for 5 seconds) or when battery is pulled out and powered on again.
Friend of mine has this problem since he upgraded to 4.2.2. First it was often, he used Powersave option. After he turned Powersave off, phone worked normal for some day (about 10). And now the problem occurred again, without Powersave on.

Sometimes it's not related to power save. It might just be a system bug:

I have been so impressed with the battery life on the N5 however the last 2 weeks my battery is dropping 50% in less than 4 hours. If I reboot my phone it fixes this and drops about 10% - 15% in 4 hours.
I thought it must be an app I am opening that is constantly running in the background but can't see anything obvious.
Anybody got any suggestions or advice? I have stopped almost all apps and uninstalled the majority. I don't want to restore factory defaults if I can help it.
Have you checked Gsam? Mine sometimes does that, and the culprit normally is my kernel keeping the phone awake for whatever reason, and a reboot solves it. Not sure why though

Get betterbatterystats and see what your wake locks are.
I have gsam but not really sure what to look for?

I'm not familiar with that. Does it tell you what your partial and kernel wake locks are?
If you go to App Usage it will give you a breakdown of what apps are using your battery

I have this exact same problem. I normally have to reboot my phone when I disconnect from the wireless charger. I don't think that's always the cause tho. I would love to install batterbatterystats but you need root am I'm really trying to not go down that road anymore.

I think It's the dialer. I had this problem in 4.1.1 where it would constantly be looking at my address book in exchange.
In my case, Gsam points to the Kernel being the issue. I'm trying out a different kernel, and haven't experienced the same issue.

So, my N5 recently started acting up now back when it had kitkat I never had this problem. So here is what I'm dealing with. My phone is charged 100% if the battery is at 60% and I try to take a picture the camera begins to act... All funny not taking pictures correctly as if the lens is taking too long to take the picture making the picture dark. Then the phone shuts off I turn it back on only to reveal my batter is at 1% and then later dies. Not sure if i have to replace the battery or what. This phone is was purchased on December 6th 2013 from Google.

Check to see if the battery is physically swelled
Checked battery looks ok also cleared the cache partition still acts funny.

Anyone have a solution to this?
I'd try changing the battery. Sounds like the battery is shot. Up to you though. Could be a number of things
Try wiping cache.

I have the exact same problem. Has changing the battery worked? I am getting the same thing after I take a PIC or Play a game at when battery is at 90%. It just dies. Help out peeps.
So it appears that the issue has been fixed at first I thought it was the battery so I changed it that wasn't it. I then reflashed android 5.0.1 and still didn't worked I then disabled the camera app and downloaded one from the play store and the phone no longer shuts off while taking photos

Have you tried a factory reset? Maybe there's some app in background draining your battery.
With lollipop you get around 20% less battery life, but still you can make up to 6 hours of screen on time on wifi and 4.30 on 3G
