I am currently using NuSenseONEMax rc2.0 on my droid dna
I wanted to install the new nusense six for dna, and it is stated that it requires newest firmware, so i have followed to link to
★ ☆ [ROM/RADIO][4.4.2][Kitkat] Stock 4.09.605.1 | Rooted | Odex-Deodex | Sense5.5 | ☆ ★
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2560010
but when I tried using the methods for installing new firmware (post #2), I got 'remote 99 unknown fail' error in command prompt.. so I figure i might install that stock rom first and try again..
But after finishing the install through recovery, i got only black screen (i suppose that this can't work since old rom is using different kernel/hboot or something which prevents me of using the stock rom provided). Luckily, using my recovery i flashed the old NuSenseONEMax rc2.0 .zip, and the phone works again. I have twrp 2.7.1.0 installed
What do you suggest me to do in order to have the latest firmware and new rom? What else do i need to install in order to get that stock rom working, and hopefully will be able to install new firmware with it?
I have really tried to do this myself, but after a whole day working, the final result is fresh 'old' rom without my settings etc.
Thanks in advance

Hey guys, I've seen this issue before yet I've tried everything in a few threads now but have no idea what is happening,I have tried using search function yet no solution has fixed my problem.
Problem:
When installing custom ROMs the installation goes fine. I put the ROM on the sdcard, follow instructions for flashing e.g wipe data/cache etc and then flash GAPPS. However I get stuck on the boot logo of every ROM. I've tried both TWRP and CWM recoveries, both with no luck. Also tried not flashing GAPPS and just trying to flash the ROM to no avail.
Current state of phone:
The phone is currently running stock firmware via downloading factory image and flashing in boot-loader : stock boot, recovery, system image etc
The phone works fine when rooted on stock firmware. E.g no custom rom yet rooted.
Could really do with some help guys, any ideas?

same problem simple solution another user informed me of.
simply donwgrade to 4.3 JB stock rom through fastboot. Then you are able to flash a custm rom from the 4.3 stock rom.
Its crazy i have to do this but it worked for me, now im running the xperience rom which is a rom based on 4.4.2 kk.
the 4.3 android stock firmwares are linked somewhere in the FAQ's as well as the guide to ffastboot lash it.

Hey man, worked a charm thanks!
For users who may have the same problem:
After flashing 4.3 onto the device it did NOT boot.
- However I then went into the bootloader flashed custom recovery, I used cwm.
- Then I went into recovery, used adb to push the rom and gapps onto sdcard
- Full wipe and then installed rom. Then installed gapps
Working fine.

Hello! Recently purchased a used (but like new) S Relay off of Ebay. It came with 4.1.2 already installed.
Basically let me tell you a brief backstory: I started off by installing Custom Recovery (CWM PhilZ 6.07) using ODIN and backing a NANDroid Backup. Then flashed KitKat CM 11 from CWM (wanted to try it out but didn't like it more than Jellybean). So I restored my backup via custom recovery.
Then I tried unlocking the sim network from T-mobile so I can use this phone when I travel abroad (using the method in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2255892 ). But apparently I found this doesn't work except on the stock Ice Cream Sandwich rom. So I flashed the LH1 stock rom using ODIN. Then I did the unlock method and it appeared successful. (it recognized an AT&T sim I have without asking for an unlock code)
So long story short, I used the custom recovery again to restore to my stock version of 4.1.2 Jellybean. But my baseband version is still LH1. I want to update it to UVMA2. I tried using a zip to update it from LH1 to UVMA2. But it always fails and aborts. It gives me Error Status 7. Which from google apparently means the device name doesn't match the one on the zip package.
I also try installing other minor packages. Which all incur the same error 7. So I'm not really sure if I'm just a really stupid beginner. Or if I've messed something up when I went to Kitkat and back. Or perhaps when I downgraded to 4.0 to unlock the network....
I tried using this ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2302599 ) guide to fix the packages by removing the initial device name check. Yet it still fails/aborts before trying to install.
Any help or insights for this beginner would be greatly appreciated, thank you
Edit: The device name should be "apexqtmo" apparently...
Was able to flash to UVBMC5 baseband. Is that perhaps the latest version? It appears to be one of the most recent from google.
I installed android lollipop, after a while decide to return to the original version, but the tutorial was speaking to return to play Goggle edition, and then go to the original, but i tried to install the original but it restarts in fast boot after installing.
the version of google play edition only works one chip, I need the another chip, I tried installing with the fastboot but after installing the rom stock does not start, it goes to fast boot menu automatically.
and I can not install by the recovery menu.

Finally got it! after hours installing roms, I got through a tutorial which uses this .bat (i cant post links lol), the tutorial is in the android pit (Motorola Moto G - [Tutorial] [STOCK] Reinstalling the stock firmware and installing updates [XT1032 and XT1033]) if someone happened the same thing send me a private message.
Hi,
I wonder if anyone could offer me a little assistance please ? I have a UK Tesco Moto G 16GB (2013) that I have successfully unlocked the bootloader and rooted and CWM recovery installed. Currently, it's running 4.4.4 Kitkat. I gave up with the OTA update as I was getting the 'preflash validation failed' message. More recently, I have tried following the guide on here to flash the XT1032_GPE_5.1_Optimized_v1.1.zip file using CWM. However, this resulted in what I believe is termed a bootloop - i.e. the coloured dots animation just never stopped - I waited half an hour and it was still going.
I've managed to restore it back to my previous 4.4.4 for the moment, but I would like to move to Lollipop at some point - if I could !
Could someone suggest a method I could try please ?
Many thanks !
Kev.
Hi there.
Well, my device is a XT1032 Retail US but I may have been through the problems you're facing right now.
Here we go:
Go full stock (don't know if you revocer from a backup or already did this but in any case you'd know what to do: This guide helped me a lot. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2542219.
Do not install any official update using a custom recovery
Make sure you got the actual latest recovery version. If you went stock from the latest firmware you should have already got it.
If you have your OTA, Install it manually from the stock recovery
This method should work. It is the one I followed.
I got two errors: 1st was because was using custom recovery.
2nd was because my rom was stock but had deleted system apps, so the install failed always at some point.
Once I flashed the latest stock firmware including the stock recovery, I was able to install my OTA update.
Let me know if this works.
So last night I went about installing a new custom ROM on my HTC One S, proceeded to unlock via the official app, and completed that step.
Upon attempting to install the custom ROM (that I got from the official CM site, the ROM being CM12, made sure it's for my device), I also deleted the backup I made of the system and now I am stuck with a bricked phone.
The problem is : I have a ROM and a custom recovery, BUT whenever I try to install the ROM, I keep getting this error message
E:Error executing updater binary in zip
Error flashing zip
The phone has been flashed before to android 4.4 with HTC Sense 6, if that information helps.
As I said, the custom ROM is from the official site, stable version, and the phone is bootloader unlocked.
Solution
Solved, had to install a ROM that complied to the HBOOT version (i.e. 2.16.0)
