Hi Guys,
Whenever OTA application tries to update, it initially downloads the file and then boots into same system via BMM. I mean the update process doesn't start. Am i missing something. When i try to install OTA file after downloading via OTA app it states "Unable to add file". Kindly guide me through this OTA update process.
Thanks in advance.

It says Error in file, have you tried redownloading it? Did you manually download the OTA file or did you get it the usual way (search for updates in phone).

I downloaded it directly from device
It says:
Code:
Verifying current system...
assert failed: blablabla
To me, this means:
It checks the system on your device to see if it can take this OTA, but the hash of your build.prop file does not match what it expects.
Maybe this OTA is not for your device or you're not on truly stock 1.53.

Hello, I downloaded the 4.3 update file and sought to update, but the install failed. I am running a stocked rooted version of the previous tw rom.
After the install failed, I have decided to stay with my current setup and not take the update.
Is there anyway to delete the 4.3 update file that I downloaded? Thanks in advance!

The update file is located at /cache/fota/update.zip . To kill the OTA update for the time being, locate the following files in /system/app, SDM.apk and SDM.odex, and rename them to SDM.apk.bak and SDM.odex.bak, then reboot the phone. If some time in future, you want to allow the update to happen, you just need to remove the .bak from those files, and reboot.

Thanks for the reply. I checked the file that you reference, but there is no zip file in there; it's empty. Would you know why it seems to have disappeared?
Thank you!

The system would have deleted it after the failed install.

thank you...I tried to install the update after reverting back to stock recovery via ez-recovery and locking the bootloader via ez-unlock.
However, the update install failed. Are people who are taking the ota using ODIN first to get back to stock firmware and then take the OTA?
I am running stock rooted TW...thanks.

You do realize that taking the OTA will lock your bootloader forever, right?
If you wait a little bit a dev will release a stock/rooted 4.3 TW ROM that you can run with our precious insecure bootloader.
But to answer your question, yes, you most likely have to ODIN back to a previous stock firmware and then take all the OTAs from wherever you are. Apparently if you make any kinds of changes to /system the OTA will fail.
I've been trying to update my rooted Nexus 5 for a while now with the actual over the air updates and I just noticed they're not actually applying. So I started to update manually but it wouldn't let me because of changes made in the system after installing mods. So I uninstalled all the mods I used and the update proceeds further but it still fails and now tells me that there's an error with androidpolicy.jar. Can anyone provide a flash able zip for this so I can finally update to 4.4.2?
Please and thank you.

You can fastboot flash the system and boot image to return your phone to stock, then take the ota
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=47369234
One huge problem here is that every time I fail to install, I get prompted to download the update again. It makes it VERY SLOW to do trial and error. Every time I accept the update it then boots into TWRP and I don't know what to do to install the update.
Please advise.
You can sideload the 5.1 update, more info here on sideloading http://forum.xda-developers.com/google-nexus-5/general/info-nexus-5-ota-help-desk-t2523217
You need to be totally stock to be able to update via OTA if I am not mistaken, meaning no root, no custom ROM, not custom recovery, your best bet now is to flash the OTA zip for 5.1

Hi Everyone
Can anyone please stop my suffering? I tried everything and I am lost...
My phone kept asking me to update to KAS254 which I finally managed to do by flashing stock recovery...but now it is giving me another OTA, some weird alphanumeric combination, around 60MB.
Thing is I cannot update it and the update keeps popping up and I am going crazy already.
TWRP returns this log:
Code:
...
....
Source: oneplus/bacon/A0001: 6.0.1/MHC19Q/ZNH2KAS254 : user/release-keys
Target: oneplus/bacon/A0001: 6.0.1/MHC19Q/ZNH2KAS2X1 : user/release-keys
Verifying current system...
Package expects build fingerprint of oneplus/bacon/A0001/6.0.1/MHC19Q/ZNHKAS254 : user/release-keys or oneplus/bacon/A0001: 6.0.1/MHC19Q/ZNH2KAS2X1 : user/release-keys;
this device has oneplus/bacon/A0001: 5.1.1/LMY48B/YOG4PAS1NO: user/release-keys
Updater process ended with ERROR: 7
Error installing zip file '@/cache/recovery/block.map
...
...
So appearently, I still have some Android L leftovers, but I don't know what that is.
Could anyone please help? I am going nuts!!
Thanks XDA!!!

You can not do OTA with a customer recovery like TWRP. If you want the latest stock firmware you will need to download the latest from https://cyngn.com/support and flash all the files via fastboot then reinstall TWRP and SuperSU for root.

What do you mean did not work? What happen when you flashed all the stock files via fastboot?
are you saying that I should apply the downloaded file via fastboot?
what I did is downloaded the recovery and updated to KAS54, then another update popped up and again I cannot update...no I get the same error, but this time it says I have KAS254 and the package expects something newer..
